Cheers guys - the intent is to make it multiplayer, but start with single to get the ball rolling. Despite the lack of Greenlight updates here, dev is 'ongoing' - but very, very slowly due to lack of time/funds for full time dev. Dom will happen - but the 'when' is a big question!

this would be a awsome multiplayer game
Klaus die Klinge Jul 6, 2013 @ 10:40am
I think this would greatly benefit from a multiplayer/coop mode.
sheep in space May 18, 2013 @ 11:50am
but anyway it is good to see the space sims coming back :)

Cheers for the thought [SOT]Plasson - yeh, it's a pain - but it's just one of those things :) branding is important, so it's important to defend it - as is their right.
[SOT]Plasson May 11, 2013 @ 3:58pm
man the pain, having to change all the name stuff just because of darn card trading game...
MakSW  [author] May 9, 2013 @ 10:22pm
We have a channel - makdominion (dominion was already taken), I'll take a look at the search side of things to see if we can improve it's visibility - which sadly seems to be our biggest issue :) I'll add our latest video to the videos on the Greenlight entry as well. Cheers for letting me know!
[SOT]Plasson May 9, 2013 @ 2:50pm
You might want to put a Video on Youtube, just to increase Exposure. I searched but couldn't find any at least.

Probably sheep in space - they're "stock" bought ones from various sources - just placeholders of "game quality" until we get funds to author our own.
sheep in space May 4, 2013 @ 4:39pm
the space stations looks like the ones from evochron.

Just to cover HeaClot's q's (as I posted on the announcement as well) Pitch will be May the 4th, and the game will be MMO as soon as viable if it proves popular :)
HeadClot Apr 28, 2013 @ 8:06am
Oh I forgot to ask - Will there be muliplayer down the road?
HeadClot Apr 28, 2013 @ 8:05am
@MakSW - Is there an ETA on the Kickstarter? Where will it be?

You guys will be getting my money. I just want to know where to put it.
MakSW  [author] Apr 28, 2013 @ 7:24am
@HeadClot - Eventually, yes - but the initial release won't - sadly. The Stretch Goals (if we're fortunate enough!) will bring in buying stations/bases and buying fleets - manufacturing itself will be a way off down the road, but still on the road map ;)
HeadClot Apr 27, 2013 @ 1:27pm
Hey, Quick Question - Will we be able to build Oribital Manufacturing facilaties?

For Construction of fleets and Items to trade?
Phearlock Apr 26, 2013 @ 10:26am
Looks interesting, but there are a lot of space sim games (yay) vying for attention. I'll follow this for when you post some gameplay demonstrations.
MakSW  [author] Apr 26, 2013 @ 5:36am
Cheers guys - sorry it's been so quiet - it's paid off though as the pitch is pretty much ready - barring your feedback ;) Thanks again for the comments, appreciated! We aim to please - we hope!
Xbreed666 Apr 20, 2013 @ 3:43pm
Those videos make the in-game look gorgeous! I have never seen lens glare in a game before.
Officer Friendly Apr 5, 2013 @ 1:28am
This sounds great, really interested to hear about it
CosmicKiwi Apr 4, 2013 @ 1:48am
It looks good so far! I hope development goes well.
Kam Solastor Apr 3, 2013 @ 12:25pm
Looks interesting. Can't wait to try it
ut40kgeodav Apr 3, 2013 @ 12:00pm
sounds like the old Elite but more advanced, an interesting idea wish you luck
MakSW  [author] Mar 31, 2013 @ 8:13am
We're treating you to a few new screenshots we've taken from the game. They're all based around the theme of "Salvage".

In Dominion you aren't restricted to making money from mining and trading, you'll be able to do a whole lot more. If you find an abandoned station or space hulk you'll be able to break them up and take the metals and materials that they're constructed of.

More to come ;)
MakSW  [author] Mar 31, 2013 @ 2:01am
We actually want Dominion to be an MMO - but that's a big thing to bite off as you can imagine. That's planned for a later release if this one proves successful. We'll design the initial release with 'upscaling' to an MMO in mind though - 'just in case' ;)

And rest assured - we hate 'grind' too. Although there has to be some form of graft 'earning money' - to separate players by ability and so on - we don't want to bore players to tears in the process. There will be plenty of options both hard and fast, easy and slow. Again, we want you to play it how you choose - not how we choose.
Go put it Mar 30, 2013 @ 3:01pm
Sounds good, just as long as it doesn't turn into an item or level grind in the end. I hate that in a game. I assume this is going to have some MMO features akin to EVE? Or will it be a more Freelancer style of multiplayer? Or slightly different again?
MakSW  [author] Mar 30, 2013 @ 11:23am
Ah, I could only hope for "superior" :)

Dominion's core strength will come from it's diversity - we're aiming to provide the platform for a vast amount of user-contributed content, as well as our own. I want you to be able to discover new ships in there, and new races even after a months worth of play.

We want Dominion to stand on it's own two feet and not be "Yet-Another-Space-Combat-Game" - so we're intending to make it different enough (gameplay-wise) to the others to make it worth while playing, and enjoyable enough to want to carry on for a long time to come!
Go put it Mar 30, 2013 @ 8:25am
Looks good, though seems a lot like the X games or Eve: Online. What will make this superior? I'll be keeping an eye out though, intriguing
Pix3l_Fodder Mar 29, 2013 @ 5:00pm
Looks fantastic :)
KO Mar 28, 2013 @ 8:38pm
Looking forward to it's development and release.

Great to see that you're on the front page and top row no less!

Space is becoming a thing again now, what with FTL, Weird Worlds appearing on Steam, the new Elite and all of the other Kickstarter games. I feel a resurgence is forming.

Just been playing Galaxy Truckers tonight, really fun space ship building and adventure boardgame. Recommended for anyone that likes the physical.
MakSW  [author] Mar 27, 2013 @ 2:39pm
Thanks to everyone who's voted this up so far! It's appreciated :) I'm glad we decided to put Dominion out to the Steam community!
MakSW  [author] Mar 26, 2013 @ 11:00am
Just added a trailer for the "Dominion Worlds" series - detailing some of the worlds to be found within the game...
MakSW  [author] Mar 25, 2013 @ 1:39pm
Thanks for the feedback! It's something we'd love to do isvansteen - but we want to do it properly... having just a heightmap based planet to fly over won't cut it for us... we want buildings, flora and fauna! We're planning to put these in for a future update/release.
Xylof1 Mar 25, 2013 @ 11:27am
Looks nice.
Making my own story and having the sand and toys to create my own sandbox game sound promesing and great.
The only thing that's missing for me is to land on these planets and have gameplay there.
