Hi Skyferret. That was fun! Had to stop and think...which is good, right? ;)
One of mine?
Skyferret  [author] May 19 @ 3:20pm
Thanks. Glad you liked it.

Oh I really enjoyed this one. I got so pissed at one point - you know where - I even loaded my save... until I turned around and saw what was happening! For some of the map I was just thinking "oh boy, another companion cube map... yay" but it was really quite clever (: So much that I put it in my faves, and I rarely do that.

Very enjoyable, as always! It was nice to play one with a decent amount of thinking without being a total ball buster. Works nicely for me as I get back up to speed in this game :)

Veeery nice. You made a chamber which isn't that hatd so I don't to get angry about it but still not that easy to be boring. Good work, Looking forward to your next maps... ^^
Skyferret  [author] Jul 21, 2013 @ 6:38pm
I'm sure you'll enjoy that one. Because it was my 75th map, I wanted to make sure it had some good, yet not too complex mechanics to it. Oh, and also it has OR gates.
DeathWish808 Jul 21, 2013 @ 6:29pm
No problem! After the thousands of maps I've played, it becomes prety apparent what needs to be done rather quickly. These style maps are always pretty linear, so that's why I'm impressed with what you did. I added Mechanix 75 to my queue, so I'll be playing that soon.
Skyferret  [author] Jul 21, 2013 @ 4:25pm
@DeathWish: Glad you enjoyed it. I can tell by your game-play that you're very intuitive when it comes to "what to do next". And thanks for taking the time to upload your game-play. Much appreciated. Thanks for playing.
DeathWish808 Jul 21, 2013 @ 10:23am
Probably the best "Bring your cube along" type of maps I've played. Very hard to add any real difficulty in this style, but I think you did a great job with it. While there's nothing brain busting, there are some spots that do require a little thinking beforehand.

Nice active & passive playing with the cube.
Skyferret  [author] Apr 7, 2013 @ 11:10pm
@Nube52: I'm pretty sure you wont be able to finish with the original Companion Cube. It takes the first one to de-activate the laser field, and after that there's no return, and you have to grab the new one. When you mentioned about getting stuck, I think I know what you mean. Someone else mentioned it. I could put something in place to rectify that, but the puzzle is at the object limit. Other than that, I usually watch for that specifically.
Nube52 Apr 7, 2013 @ 10:37pm
ok I finished and thumbzed up. I see waht you mean by lead test subject in linear fashion instead of leave them to wander like in my latch 4 puzzle. Two comments I finished with a newly dropped companion cube not original, is it possible to finish with original past laser field? Also I consider floor with 1st cube button a get stuck point because if you go back to investigate using the blue gravity field and cube is already above you you can't get back. Part of learning process i'm sure but I though getting stuck points is not reccomended puzzle architecture. Stiil great puzzle!
Nube52 Apr 7, 2013 @ 4:03pm
Very smooth not finshed yet but I like the aspect of getting in to the puzzale now I just have to finish getting out try this one please: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=137359756

True. I was doing this at 3am so my thinking was impared a bit lol. Here's one of mine. It's probably the easier and the more fun of the 2 I have up. Check it out if you want.

Skyferret  [author] Apr 6, 2013 @ 10:30am
@Singh: I think I know which part you're referring to. When you send the cube into that room up above, it's easier to just let it fling through a portal on the wall. Once you get it in there, you'll see the whole floor is portalable. That way, no matter where the cube is, you pop a portal above the button, then one under the cube, and it drops on the button. This is why it's low. But anyhow, thanks for playing.
Singh Apr 6, 2013 @ 2:53am
Nice map. Fun. I think you could make that first step better - maybe raise the ceiling a step or two so the cube doesn't slam down on the button and roll off so much.

It was a pleasure!

@cer9938: Thanks for taking the time to upload your video. And thanks for testing of course.

Was Fun hope to do more in the future. The way I did it
Skyferret  [author] Mar 31, 2013 @ 10:09pm
@[PRO]Killum: I think I see what you mean. Walk sideways through the fizzler field while holding the cube under it, and at the same time the cube is dipped half way into the goo pond. I would have never thought a cube would live through that. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll watch for that next time.
[PRO]Killum Mar 31, 2013 @ 9:43pm
Very cool! You can drag the cube under the force field holding it in the gel.
Neebs Mar 31, 2013 @ 8:31pm
Awesome map, loved it. How did you hit the object limit so quickly? I feel like i used more objects in mine:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=135661386
but still haven't hit the limit yet. I'd appriciate anyone playing though this and rating/commenting!

Yep, that's the place. I saw what I was supposed to do after it was too late. :)
Skyferret  [author] Mar 31, 2013 @ 12:12pm
@presto668: I think I know which room you're referring to. That might be a design flaw that I overlooked. The cube is supposed to be tractor beamed up to the button on the other side to de-activate the laser field. The player then rides up the original tractor beam. From there you will see how to continue. This is where you get another Companion Cube. It kind of hard to fix it now because I hit the object limit. Thanks for pointing that out.
presto668 Mar 31, 2013 @ 11:46am
I got the cube pinned against the ceiling by the blue funnel in the room with the laser barrier, and then there was no way to retrieve it.
Skyferret  [author] Mar 31, 2013 @ 11:17am
@=[SHC]=Gato: It a matter of remotely manipulating and placing the cube without touching it. If you're referring to the room where you fly up from the faith plate, do this. You'll find the floor is all portalable up there, and the wall. Unless you've already noticed, you can send the cube into that room by placing a portal in it, and a portal below (after the cube hits the faith plate). Once the cube is put in that room, you place a portal right above one of those buttons, and then pop a portal under the cube. It will fall on the button. You'll know which one.
Gato Mar 31, 2013 @ 10:53am
Skyferret, can you help me? Im stuck at like the first bit. I can get into the room with the first 2 pressure pads but i dont know what to do then!

Fun one, thanks. I liked having to go back down to use that faithplate--had to stop and think for a minute there.

Here is my latest, if you have a chance. Thanks!
Skyferret  [author] Mar 30, 2013 @ 12:36pm
@Andi: I'll give it a shot
Andi Mar 30, 2013 @ 11:52am
Very nice chamber. Not too difficult but not easy either. I really liked the way you combined some of the elements in the first couple of rooms. Excellent job.

Would you mind trying one of mine?

nice and swag :-)
Skyferret  [author] Mar 30, 2013 @ 10:48am
@Dr. Krunklehorn: The method you described is actually how it's done. But as for the button on the timer, that's in case the player misses their ride up the piston platform. If the player did not get on it on time (even though it's close) the cube would remain stuck in the tractor beam and on the button, and the piston platform would remain up. That's why it's only 3 seconds timing. It's just a cube retrieving safeguard just in case. I always like to make sure the player will never get stuck.

Thanks for playing.
Cheers.
Dr. Krunklehorn Mar 30, 2013 @ 9:56am
The timer activator in the room with the rising platform is not needed.

Put the cube on the white floor under the wall button.
Stand on the floor button and use the excursion funnel to push the cube to the ceiling.
Move onto the rising panel. The cube will drop into the original funnel path and press against the button making the lift rise; skipping the timer activator.
