As with all Dawnguard weapons you can only smith them at Fort Dawnguard

i can't seem to get this mod to work, do i have to start over with a new character in order for it to work because the weapons are now showing up when i go into the smithing menu

Theres no better word to describe this mod other than awesome. Every single weapon feels like a expansion that doesent even come close to ruining the feel of skyrim, everything feels and looks like it was originally part of the game. The fact that even NPC's use them, makes me jump up and down like a little girl when ever im in combat. All I have to say now is good job good sir.

Is there a way to remove the tiny "belt" strap? Not the sheathe itself, but the extra strap that makes it look like it connects to the waist.

I want to put the sword on my back with the animation mods I use, but it looks bad with that extra strap.

I love your mods to death, I couldn't play Skyrim without them, not knocking the mod at all.

And like the other Dawnguard equipment, they can only be crafted at the forge in Fort Dawnguard

Uh-oh. When I tried to make a Dragonbone Hatchet, the item could be crafted, but when it is crafted, there is no mesh. Sorry PrivateEye about the bugs I'm seeing.
I'll try changing the load order around and see if that is the cause of the no-mesh bug. If that doesn't work, I might suggest making an All-DLC version instead of Main-Main-Add-on.

No, I'm not. I only use Dragonborn Main + Dawngaurd.
To all complaining about the duplicated weapons:
I noticed the Nexus Mods edition for this mod works fine, and does not duplicate. Download it from here:

What do you mean? Kill moves don't work? They work the same way as with all other weapons.

Two glass spears? This Dawnguard version doesn't even add a glass spear...

You only need this one, not the old version.

Maybe you are using both the vanilla and dragonborn editions?

Not meaning to shoot you down there mate;) And sorry if I came off to harsh.
There's arguments for using either of the animations and I can see it both ways. But switching everything around is a big job, so it's much more efficient for the mod to stick to just one of them.

So Warhammers animations you mean.
Spears used to be animated that way, untill people told me they would look better with greatsword animation. Ever since I changed it people have been telling me the warhammer animation is better. There's always going to be a group who thinks the other solution is better..
I can't please everybody with this mod, so I'll stick to it the way it's now.

I won't be using staff animations. You can't use staff animations with Skyrim treating the weapon as a staff. That means the weapon would shoot magic like a staff, become unenchantable and can't be upgarded.
To me it would create more problems than it solves.
