I'm going to do Science. Caroline is the one who you should talk to about the cookies. :)
I touched the cookies, what are you going to do about it?
pa1ntmaster Oct 19, 2013 @ 7:21pm
Kinda feels like I've played something like this before...

Anyway, this is awesome. LOL'd at the easter egg xD

I love seeing mappers improve gradually, so playing this and sp_80's has been fun for me. The quality of maps has changed massively between those series. Great map.

I found the Office. I touched the cookies!
dante Apr 13, 2013 @ 12:10pm
Using test elements would be cool that happened in Cave's Caves.
Ultiman  [author] Apr 12, 2013 @ 4:16pm
Oh, I'm doing that for the next map, so that you'll exit the sphere and be able to look down into it from buildings overhead. Maybe to use test elements, IDK yet.
dante Apr 12, 2013 @ 1:55pm
I noticed you haven't implemented my idea yet. The one about the cracked sphere.
Ultiman  [author] Apr 4, 2013 @ 3:40pm
For science. And because I'm cutting that part out of part 2.
wildgoosespeeder Apr 4, 2013 @ 12:42pm
Why is part of part 2 in this map?
Strykerx88 Mar 30, 2013 @ 10:27pm
Part 4 please! This was fun.
Deli73 Mar 27, 2013 @ 6:42pm
The secret announcement is funny
Good job so far!
gctabor Mar 26, 2013 @ 11:31pm
That was funn!
Wolf bytes Mar 26, 2013 @ 2:51pm
It won't let me place the cube, the cube acts like something is blocking it from being placed.
drew Mar 26, 2013 @ 12:16pm
I had a couple graphical glitches in the secret office and other places. Not sure if there is anything you can do about it, but I enjoyed the map immensely.
quatrus Mar 25, 2013 @ 5:21pm
Great set of maps - well two anyway. The beta version of map 2 (map 3) was a little confusing as it started map 2 again and then went into greater length. Still great...Why not post these to TWP and link them together - I really like old style Hammer maps...
Nube52 Mar 24, 2013 @ 11:25pm
I like your style you make up your owmn rules just like me Great Level Great 1967 Old Aperture Feel Great Offices Keep up the work
mikemoody Mar 24, 2013 @ 8:47pm
Nice map "Ultiman9711" I had a lot of fun playing it. Thanks for the good work.
Myr (FR) Mar 24, 2013 @ 12:17pm
Update this again, seriously. Didn't use any cube again.
bvsmith Mar 23, 2013 @ 7:19pm
Beautiful map!
presto668 Mar 23, 2013 @ 5:16pm
Nice map. Tiny nitpick: there's a bit of texture flickering above the entrance door in the first room. Also, holy crap that's a lot of gel. :D
dante Mar 23, 2013 @ 11:53am
I also bounced through the Aperture logo. Not something you need to fix, just funny.
dante Mar 23, 2013 @ 11:45am
I found a way to get to the broken elevator. Maybe put an easter egg there?
Ultiman  [author] Mar 23, 2013 @ 10:20am
@Frau - Yes, I used that a lot when I was playtesting. Protip: This is actually better for performance because the orange gel isn't activated.
@cthulu - *flips up hood* Goooood . . . Yes, it was cookie monster.
Okami Amaterasu Mar 23, 2013 @ 10:01am
If that was an evil Cookie Monster (which I think it was) I will never look at that puppet the same again...
Name Changing Machine 6000 Mar 23, 2013 @ 7:28am
@Ultiman9711 I may have found easter egg but I don't know WHAT it contains. (I was in the office)
dante Mar 23, 2013 @ 6:23am
Did you change the second part yet?
dante Mar 23, 2013 @ 6:18am
I noticed that too.
Hitman (Rus) Mar 23, 2013 @ 6:17am
я хочу тваею карту
Frau Es5H1 Mar 23, 2013 @ 2:04am
Great, except you can cheat in the first chamber by putting the blue gel on the ground in front of the higher button, grabbing the cube, jumping on the gel and throwing it onto the button.
Nexus Mar 21, 2013 @ 9:11am
Fix the fizzler fix the fizzler fix the fizzler.
Fix the speedrunner fix again.
Ultiman  [author] Mar 20, 2013 @ 3:45pm
Thank you! I'm bringing forth an update soon that introduces a new basement area to the under construction chamber, which will eliminate that fling from the top of the chamber below. Also: Adding some clip brushes to deter you damn speedrunners. Furthermore; moar kool lihgts!
Myr (FR) Mar 20, 2013 @ 3:40pm
The intended way isn't cerebral, sorry. But the use of Hammer looks still pretty good except the kill of a speedrunner in a part. But I escaped. I can't upload all my alternative routes but ... here is a cool one .

Cave likes my style. Keep testing :-). Feel free to try my workshop, thanks.
dante Mar 20, 2013 @ 1:29pm
Your only hammer maps that is.
dante Mar 20, 2013 @ 1:28pm
Good map by the way. Your Pure Intellect maps are your best maps. These and wheatley's detour are in my opinion your only maps that are really good. The others weren't fun for me.
Gemarakup Mar 20, 2013 @ 1:08am
That was a nice navigation map and I like the idea of backtracking. The map still has bugs, and I needed to noclip out of places where there was no way out.
dadipadi Mar 20, 2013 @ 12:07am
I enjoy the cave johnson retro maps. This one was cool because it used a few "outside the room" ideas. I wish there were more puzzles that fully utilized the play space, much like this one did, whether or not it looks like "play space" or not. Good details too.
heembob Mar 19, 2013 @ 8:50pm
That was an awesome map! thanks. I especially like all the details you put into it, adding to the 60's motif
Ultiman  [author] Mar 19, 2013 @ 3:58pm
Yes, It sounds like a good one. I'll be sure to implement it!
dante Mar 19, 2013 @ 3:45pm
So what do you think of my idea?
Ultiman  [author] Mar 19, 2013 @ 11:52am
Great! The fact that there are still people on the workshop that can give concrete reviews is awesome! Yes, maybe the portable walls are a bit hard to find, which might need some dynamic lights to illuminate. Maybe if I enclosed a few more areas with metalwalls, the solutions may become more apparent. The overall feel, however, was that you are breaking/solving unfinished tests.
DahMainahGaimah Mar 19, 2013 @ 11:36am
Review time!

Positives: The visuals are very unique, and the part where you are killed for speedrunning the test is very clever.

Negatives: Level design. OH. MY. GOD. The level design of this map is very annoying, and I often got stuck because I couldn't see a portalable platform in a place that I wasn't thinking to look, and I didn't even know that some of them were portalable because of the color scheme. There were a few times where I legitimately thought I broke the test, as well. When I wasn't trapped, the test was very easy and took almost no thinking whatsoever.

Overall, this is an okay chamber, and I voted up because this is an alpha build. If you fix these problems, this would be a very good test, and it would probably become very popular.
dante Mar 18, 2013 @ 1:16pm
Oh! Wait I have an idea, move the cracked sphere up, and make the rest of the area caves or walls.
Ultiman  [author] Mar 18, 2013 @ 11:05am
The cracked sphere was too small.
dante Mar 18, 2013 @ 5:07am
Oh. I liked the cracked sphere.
Ultiman  [author] Mar 17, 2013 @ 6:18pm
I'm fixing part 2. I'm removing the test interior and making the sphere complete, and I am adding a floating test chamber on the water and adding more detail in the environment.
