I have a the problem as El Lanf the central pressure plate doesn't seem to work.

Not sure if bug or just missing something on level 9. In the room with trap doors and teleporters where the 3rd ornate key is. In the 2 different youtube videos I saw, the pressure plate where the key is opens up 2 walls on the left and the right but for me they remain where they are. I've picked up the lightning blade and tried various combinations of having all or some of the pressure plates down. Nothing seems to trigger the walls opening next to they key.

Komag, loving the mod so far! Stuck on the button/lever puzzle on level 5 to get the Brace of Fortitude. No matter what I do I can't get it to work. I've even followed the instructions in your walkthrough; when facing north and pressing button on right nothing happens, no ticking. Any suggestions to get this working?

@pmutzu: this is quite late to reply, but you need to place a rock from hand, not let the teleporter move it back and forth. If you move in right behind the teleporter, place rock (or anything), and then run through, you'll make it. If you don't make it, you must retrieve the item first before trying again.
@[DE] Andreas: thanks! I see what you mean about Toorum remains not giving a good enough reward, I didn't change that from original game. Lord Perel note reward is more for story than use, but it could be handy during all the quake damage. Skull collection is not for anything, same as original game, just powerup for Minotaur if he has headhunter.

O U T S T A N D I N G mod !!!!!! This is exactly how the original should have been from the beginning ! Especially the better end is worth playing.
Just a couple of remarks , complaints on a high level:
1. Reviving Toorums remains at a crystal do not give any reward, or did I miss it ? What is that good for ? at least he could have written a final scroll, thanking us, if we can not meet him after reviving.
2. The reward for Lord Perels notes is too late in the game, so late you nearly cannot use it anymore.
3. Why did I collect all the skulls ? what for - is that a loose end ?
Other than that, the game is tremendous, especially funny was the Snail King ! :-)

I cant seem to get past the teleporter room on lv 3 the one thats a square with a pit in the center and the teleporter is movine around the room. it seems now the door has no time to open before the teleporter gets back to the rock i placed od the plate. the door opens then closes before i have a chance to go through. this is not a me being slow thing as im standing right at the door. it just does not open far enough before the rock gets ported again. any help on this??

I played the original game, and then this version back to back. Upon immediately finishing the original, I made a new party, and jumped into the Master Quest. Holy tap dancing christ. This blew away my expectations. im fairly sure you have ruined me for other mods now. The puzzles, which I thought I had mastered, suddenly destroyed me again. The monsters required careful planning and strategy. The added plot enthralled me. Seriously, this was amazing! My only complaint is that there isnt more! well, that, and that i didnt get a final showdown with a certain regal snail, though he did hail me as a "Warlord", which I suppose is a win in itself. But that all aside, this was a truly amazing mod. Bravo.

@silver: i'm not aware of old versions anywhere, sorry. Maybe Komag himself is able to help you. On the other hand you could import your current party into v1.4 so not all is lost.

Finally got it. I was doing everything right except for one thing, seemingly: it needs to be done very fast. I guess. I swear I did the same thing I did 100 times before but THIS TIME, I got the white dot. Anyways, happy ending!

@aeroprism: throwing is fine, no sling needed here. If you don't get the red dot you're doing something wrong. North wall shows red dot, east wall shows white dot and the door opens
@Silver: you're no using a Master Quest v1.3 savegame with v1.4?

@Dr.Disaster: I thought of that so I used them as range weapons. Both stones make it to the wall just fine but the north wall does not give me the red dot signal. Please tell me I don't need to backtrack to where I left my sling, it's soooooo far up...

Stuck on level 9 with the rock toss puzzle. I placed my three torches, I stand on the grating, I throw my rock north, a little red dot on the wall shows it registered. I throw my rock east, nothing happens. Any ideas?

I'm at level 9 now, still hyped. I'd say that the only downside this mod has so far is backtracking. It was painless in the original but just now I went back from level 9 all the way to level 3 to pick a leather cap to see what was the leather set bonus was. It took considerable time, some levels required lots of walking and to do some puzzles again.

But hey, that's a tiny little downside which doesn't even begin to diminish the mountain of awesome that this mod is.

This is great stuff. I always thought that the combat system in Grimrock was done completely different of how I would have done it. Character building was overrated and all you needed to beat the game was two minotaur rogues using ranged weapons and the ability to do the mind-numbing 2x2 dance over and over and over...

This mod brings more character dev to the table, I can actually make a mage and a warrior that WORK. Awesome.

@aeroprism: the big plus in LoG is the dungeon editor and it's scriting support so designers can create virtually anything from 100% combat mods to 100% puzzle mods. As a result anything including both extremes can be found on the workshop.

Even though I bought Grimrock the day it came out, I gave up on floor 10, the fights annoyed me. I'm more a puzzle solver than a 2x2 dancer, you see. Anyways, a few days ago I restarted on easy, beat the game and looked forward to try this as my first mod. I just ate the first 4 floors in one sitting, I am completely sold. I LOVE what you did with... everything! Importing my characters is awesome. The way you distributed items makes a lot of sense. Overall, I cannot wait to proceed further. A+++. Seriously.

@koyangi: please calm down! If there is something you don't understand: don't rant, ask nicely and people will answer.

The link (which is also listed in the description above) provides you with help and hints written by the author Komag himself. Komag's hints might sound compressed but they are very precise and to the point. It's recommended that you are familiar with the area you look help for. Otherwise you might get completely confused or lost.

The map clips you see are taken from LoG's dungeon editor. They might look unfamiliar at first but it's not too hard to match them with the regular in-game map. The whole thread that follows is filled with more hints, help and information from Komag, me and a lot of other LoG modding regulars.

This anything ... but a walkthrough. The card excerpt is ridicoulus small, nearly not to identify.I will give it some more tries and if i won´t succeed i will delete this mod. Until now it just costs my time and i wont get this time back.
If i would have a crystal ball and have seen what happen now i would never ever would have installed it. btw english is not my mothertongue.

there where room 9-9-94 should be is nothin in my (auto)map. There could be something (there is space) but i found no secret button and i hope it is not again something like "step three to right, jump 26 times, run as fast as possible three back, turn 180° and throw something into the dark, then wait 2,38seconds and move fast forward through a secret wall which will close again in about 2 seconds and you find secret XY!
Sry if it sound ironically and zynic but meanwhile i am sick and tired of the concept. It just p***** me of! It destroy any fun.

A good example for too much and not understandable:
"push secret button inside room with secret 9-9-94 to open wall, step on plate to activate teleporter to the W and hear a portcullis and wall opening somewhere to the S, throw (with "attack") something through the teleporter (it will land on a plate to the S which opens more walls), walk S to that plate, remove lightning_blade from alcove to change daemon poison cloud attacks to ghost shots. Also, pull both levers in the area to open the door to the central hub, step on plate to open all the walls around the hub, find and push secret button in NE part of hub to open more walls which clears path from S daemon to receptor on wall in SW part of hub, return to that daemon and make it shoot one ghost shot into receptor which closes the S pit. Now you can go around and step on that pit trapdoor and push the secret button there, which opens a wall leading to your reward, the "key" scroll."

I allready know it´s different but even the link (a also knew before) doesn´t make it easier at all. I loved Dungeon Master in the past and i like LoG right now. But is it really needed to make riddles that hard (or to me unsolveable) and unlogical like "go one to the right, three to the left, one for, two back and six to the right"?
And you will get it only by trying. Who the earth has that much time and fun with it trying until the end.
I love the design of this mod and i aprreciate the efforts but the riddles are stupid nonsense!
If there is a real walkthrough with ALL HINTS the please give me the link. I will use it, enjoy the fights (incl. the atmosphere) an will not miss any of these ***** riddles at all. Thx in advance!!

@Michel: these crashes happen if you continue with a Master Quest savegame that was created by an older version of the mod for example v1.3. Due to the massive amount of modifications done to current v1.4 (check the list above) all older savegames are not compatible to v1.4. The only safe way to fix this is to restart from the very beginning.

The Tic Tac room seems to have no "reasonable" solution. This mod is 95% riddles and 5% rpg action. And a lot of the riddle are too difficult

Too bad, some riddles doesn´t work any longer. e.g. Level 7 and the five layers. In the walkthrough resp. the original game it worked but in this mod not :(
Rätsel funktionieren leider immer wieder mal nicht. In Level 7 z.B. bei den 5 Hebeln hilft die Lösung nicht und des funktioniert nicht mehr wie im Original. Muss das sein???

I found several items crashing the game when you eqquip them, like Lurker Boots, the secret leather boots in level 4 and the tier 2 light-armor chest. Can you check and fix the bugged items please?

The second key was in a sack i allready carried with me. Was it in there right from the beginning. Confusing!
