It looks like the download on what was once L4Dmaps.com is broken. The map no longer is listed under my account on that website (now GameMaps.com). Has anyone seen that issue with other maps? Can anyone confirm that this download is still working for them?

Those couple "ERROR" signs appeared a year or so ago out of nowhere. I haven't updated the map for quite a lot longer then that, so my only guess can be that Valve did something on their end which caused the issue. I assume they removed the props which are supposed to exist in place of the text, or did something else to the props/content which caused the map to not be able to find them anymore. So, the props that I placed disappeared out of thin air, and the "ERROR" text you see is because the map is looking for props that can't be found anymore.

Unfortunately the bots can not get up there. The bots naturally follow a player once that player reaches a specific distance from where the bots currently stand. The roof with the mg's is not a far enough distance from the level below it for the bots to recognize you are in a place which they should move to. They can stand on the level below you and still be within the range of you where they do not need to follow. I did not know of a way to force the bots up on to the roof once a player climbed up when I made the map.

Is there a Steam Workshop contributor here who knows how to tag a L4D2 Workshop contribution as "Survival" and "Scavenge"? Steam Workshop didn't used to allow L4D2 map contributors to do this, so The Final Cut and all maps used to be tagged as "Campaign". Now that L4D2 Steam Workshop has these options, I need to tag The Final Cut with the proper game modes, but I can't find any option to do this after my initial upload of The Final Cut. I need help!

It seems to be on every custom map, and it's only the Tank, none of the other special infected.

I've never seen that issue myself. I stopped playing L4D2 a year or two ago, so I am guessing it is an issue with some of the new custom character models/skins conflicting with the official Left 4 Dead 2 content. Some of the new popular campaigns which the community has made probably have a bunch of extra custom content in them, which could possibly be the problem. The Final Cut has very minimal custom content which couldnt' conflict or cause an issue with any of the L4D2 content which already exists.

Hey Anders, I was wondering if you share a similar problem that me (and all of my friends) have when playing custom maps. The issue is that the tank is often completely invisible and therefore invincible, but most commonly the tank has no animatons what-so-ever. Me and a lot of friends are having this issue, it's not my server and it's not an addon issue. (The tank is fine on official maps.

It should turn off the audio of the video clip. I put it in there just in case you get annoyed with the looping audio from the Night of the Living Dead and want to turn it off.

Could you possibly be more specific Thatbrownmonster? There is an active bug/issue with The Final Cut where hitting the radio starts the round but doesn't make the zombies and special infected come (in Survival mode). This doesn't happen very often at all but it does happen every now and then. If you restart the round, the issue should be fixed and the enemies will come when hitting the radio. Is this perhaps what you are referring to?

Has anyone else come across this "missing extension" issue? Conrad, would you be able to tell me when this error happened for you? Was it an error dialogue box that popped up when you tried to connect to a "Best Available Dedicated" server? I would recommend trying to host the map locally and see what happens.

The map should also work in Scavenge mode, but it hasn't been thoroughly tested in that mode (I didn't have enough people to help me playtest Scavenge at the time). Thanks for telling me it's working with Survival mode!

... and on another note. I'd love to make more maps for Valve's games using the Source engine, but it's hard to find the incentive nowadays. I am currently working as a Level Designer / World Builder at a video game studio, and I could probably make something ten times better now :P I heard that some of the map makers who made very popular TF2 maps received some money from it. Does anyone have any insight on Valve's interaction with community created content? It would be amazing to actually benefit from making a top-played map, and would give great incentive for map makers to do amazing work. Any info would be great!

This isn't working for you Dawnranger? Is anyone else having troubles? I see there's been about 350 downloads so far, and only one comment about someone not being able to play it, so I don't want to assume anything. I was able to download and play it via The Workshop a day or two ago. I noticed the .vpk map file was named a string of numbers within my Steam folder. I hope that this version of the map which is the same file that has been on L4Dmaps.com, is playable with the people who have already downloaded the map via L4Dmaps.com. Does anyone know if that works? My only concern would be the fact that the .vpk file is named a string of numbers instead of finalcut.vpk
