There are already many strategy/historical simulation games for the sengoku period. This would be a great app in it's current state, but as a PC game I think it's a bit lacking in features. As far as I can tell from the description and images, there isn't any mechanic put in place for diplomacy, there are no ninjas, and there are no Portugese merchants from whom I can buy muskets. These improvements, amongst others, would make the game a better competitior against other games of the same genre.

So. If I buy this game from Desura. Do I get Steam key when this game is released ? Or do I need to buy it again so I can play it through Steam ?
Cyrus Mordor Jan 8 @ 8:50am
My question is this game will have Steam achievements?
fullmetaldragon Dec 25, 2013 @ 4:05pm
Why is this game interesting when have many Total Wars ?
Boreas Oct 31, 2013 @ 11:14pm
This looks like something that could easily be on a mobile OS like android. The logistics are another thing, but this seems like an interesting and easy to approach game.
[FR]Alex Sep 1, 2013 @ 2:46pm
i played it on desura, and its an epic game, well made, wortht he cost ! the graphics are ok since its an indy game, and the gameplay is really fun !
Waterloong Aug 24, 2013 @ 8:24pm
i like ur idea but the graphic srsly need to be improved.
kamarad  [author] Aug 2, 2013 @ 6:38am
Thanks for the different views. We are and have been for years avid PC gamers and love the platform, but we also like to incorporate positives from other platforms. That said, we'd first like to make Tenshu General a great PC/laptop game before we consider releasing it to other devices. They are not mutually exclusive we feel and can be to an extend be served with similar player input.
Leartes Aug 2, 2013 @ 5:46am
Wtf, not everyone has an iPad but everyone has a PC. 100% put this on steam, iPad is only poor alternative.
avatarr Jun 29, 2013 @ 2:56am
AWesome music guys! Please have the soundtrack available on release!
Filini Jun 28, 2013 @ 1:14pm
Ich mag Staergie Games mit Japan stil würde ich mir holen wenn es rasu kommt ^^bin Japan fan ^^
VerteX Jun 25, 2013 @ 8:41am
I like the casual strategy games - so looks good. And also, to the people who think that the Steam market somehow differs from tablet gaming... do a little more research before you start downvoting for stupid reasons. I have a Surface Pro, which is a touch-screen tablet that uses an x86 architecture. Thus, I play plenty of steam games from a tablet - as will more and more people with the new windows tablets coninue to grow in popularity. I hope soon there will actually be a tag for games that specify it as "tablet compatible" much like they do for gamepads.
D_loaded Jun 22, 2013 @ 10:28pm
This looks like a free flash game you would find on a website!!!!!!!!! NOT FOR STEAM
RickyMcMoney Jun 14, 2013 @ 8:13pm
put this on the ipad. Its not for steam
SideWinder  [author] Jun 6, 2013 @ 12:34pm
Tenshu General is definately a light strategy game, that is its purpose. Beta testers felt that this would be a nice game to play while commuting on the train for instance. Don't underestimate it though, on high difficulty and large maps it can really present a strategic challenge and take a long time to win!
Unter_Null Jun 5, 2013 @ 2:18am
Well it looks decent for a light game, if u dont want to play anything more complicated than this) but personally, doesnt look very interesting. a nice game to kill some time but no more than that. Especially that Japan-like strategy games are a bit overused for the last years.
Digital_Destruction Jun 3, 2013 @ 12:12pm
Would rather play shogun two. Sorry but I would'nt turn on my pc for this.
Vindicar Jun 2, 2013 @ 2:20am
in this state that's good for light stuff like I-pads.
I wouldn't turn my PC on for that.
SideWinder  [author] May 25, 2013 @ 2:24pm
Thanks sebcw1204. Today we finished a beta test which was very well received, so stay tuned!
sebcw1204 May 24, 2013 @ 11:20pm
when steam screwed my shogun2 account i've been looking for a quality strategy fix, looks like this might be it. now i just need to find an assassins creed style fix (that one was screwed by ubisoft).
girgsi May 8, 2013 @ 2:54pm
nes nobusakas ambition? looks neat.
Conner May 8, 2013 @ 5:56am
needs more grafices if more like empire total war i would buy it
Hells Malice Apr 23, 2013 @ 8:13am
Neat enough flash game.
Doesn't need to be steam greenlit though, plenty of places to host flash games for free.
Hit-Girl Apr 23, 2013 @ 12:36am
It needs better presentation
π Apr 22, 2013 @ 6:21pm
This is real nice :D
MadMage Apr 22, 2013 @ 5:22pm
Total War: Shogun - is that you? WHERE DID YOUR GRAHPICS GO?!?!
Cornelian Apr 22, 2013 @ 2:13pm
Everything about this game looks boring. I don't see why i should spend my money on this.
Catscratch Apr 22, 2013 @ 7:50am
Looks like a low-budget Risk knock-off based in fuedal times.
Brings nothing special to the table.
Lokwas Apr 22, 2013 @ 2:23am
For a phone game, it seems pretty good. But I wouldn't buy this on Steam.
SideWinder  [author] Apr 5, 2013 @ 8:06am
@Blessed Prince
In response to feedback we worked hard recently to upgrade the visual features and include more game mechanics that we originally planned for later inclusion. We'll be able to show it soon!
Ciciro Apr 5, 2013 @ 4:25am
No thanks. Shogun TW not only has a better map it also has RTS battles.
(G.A.T.A.N) Guiness Apr 5, 2013 @ 12:34am
It's a nice idea but in it's current state it looks verymuch like a flash game you'd get fro free, with improvement it could be great.
kamarad  [author] Apr 3, 2013 @ 12:40pm
@cesjumpy: multiplayer is still in very early alpha test. We hope to add in the future!
cesjumpy Apr 2, 2013 @ 9:03am
Where is mulyiplayer? I think it wiil be very nice with it
SmartArt  [author] Apr 1, 2013 @ 1:55pm
@ jolly jew. We are working on a new clip to show some more features. Although it is meant as a casual strategy game, there are enough layers of game play to have replayability
Jolly Jew Apr 1, 2013 @ 10:40am
looks way too simplistic and shallow, it might be a good board game but not a good video game as for it is now...
Paz~璿 Mar 31, 2013 @ 1:38am
I rather play Civilization
HandsVOD Mar 30, 2013 @ 4:37pm
Looks like some fun casual strategy.
bba34 Mar 30, 2013 @ 4:34am
SmartArt  [author] Mar 29, 2013 @ 1:04pm
Thanks for the great thumbs up T2Rmunchen99 :-)
T2RMunchen99 Mar 29, 2013 @ 8:01am
I can't wait till this is on steam. I've spent hours on Risk & Stratego, and this looks like it could be another thing that'll make me late on the weekdays. I would throw my money at you guys, but I'm afraid I might bludgeon you guys to death with the sheer amount of pennies I've saved.
SideWinder  [author] Mar 28, 2013 @ 2:38pm
@cfccannon Because the general game mechanics are relatively simple, the gameplay is very scalable. You can choose different mapsizes and number of opponents. Also the personality and difficulty of the opponents differ. Hopefully, people who like a quick mindless class of armies will like the game as well as players who like a strategic challenge where the loss of one province can spell disaster.
It is a casual game though, no hours of gameplay are required so feel progress and no keeping track of endless possibilities. It does have some depth to keep it interesting: you have to balance offense vs defense, mobile vs static power and income vs expenditures.
cfcannon Mar 27, 2013 @ 12:56am
Simple gameplay can be a bonus. Take the computer versions of Catan or Carcassonne, both have a simple game mechanic but decent strategic depth. I'd like a turn-based strategy game with clean, simple quick play (would kill for an updated Panzer General that kept the same depth level as the original) but not sure this particular one works for me. I avoid crazy deep games like Hearts of Iron but this one may be the wrong balance between keeping play fast but interesting.
Chop_Suey Mar 24, 2013 @ 5:50am
If I wanted to play this kind of game, they already exist in a much more impressive form on PC. Getting a little tired of tablet and phone level quality on Greenlight.
icuurd12b42 Mar 22, 2013 @ 12:37am
It could convert well to a touch device. It's an interesting casual game no matter the OS. +1!
SmartArt  [author] Mar 20, 2013 @ 1:04pm
@Baalseraph we are looking for that kind of strategy experience in Tenshu General, so we're happy it shows. It was fun playing against the computer in those games and we want to achieve that feel in our computer opponents.
Baalseraph Mar 20, 2013 @ 12:51am
This looks like a mixture of Defender of the Crown and the first (and best) Warlords. And that's why I really like it! :D
von Hötzendorf Mar 19, 2013 @ 6:14pm
I hate to be "that guy," but this is a watered down version of every paradox interactive game ever made.
deadly penguin Mar 18, 2013 @ 1:52pm
Looks promising to me! I'm looking forward to playing this game because I like playing offline strategy boardgames and this seems to bring that experience to my computer.
kamarad  [author] Mar 18, 2013 @ 12:43pm
@Terb We have looked into also releasing it on a tablet, unfortunately due to time constraints it's not possible right now. Linux and Mac support is definitely on the table since our engine is already cross-platform, I just need to look into the packaging techniques.
