Anyhow, good to see that this map still gets some attention :)
It was my first real Hammer project and, true, it does require agility. I wouldn't call it Ninja but that's obvously a matter of opinion. Anyhow, as nice as the Portal Force Gun may be, it is difficult to come up with puzzles that don't require fast reflexes beause it introduces a lot of momentum to the chambers.
Thanks for playing and commenting!
I've never reached the top button in the big room, part 1. Used orange portal on top laser-field surface to get some height, blue portal on grate-surface behind button, and threw the cube throught the grate from floor.
But yeah, if you don't mind, I would love to use this in some maps. I have been completely editing PeTI's instances as well as trying to make a whole map in Hammer.
I admit: the pressure to build another map is increasing ;)
PS: You are aware that there is a sequel called PFG 2 - Learning Curves , right?
As far as I remember it is possible to get up on the ledge with the cube only with the push portal gun ... it just takes a little different approach than with the suck portal gun ;)
Also, you can trap yourself in the room where you get the blue portal gun. There's an emancipation grill right by the entrance. If you vaporize the cube after getting the blue portal gun, you can't get the cube back.
Nonetheless, thanks for playing and commenting!
And for everyone who hasn't seen it yet (shameless self promotion upcoming) part 2 of the PFG series is available here .
I love the new puzzle element!
