Too bad! To be honest, I did not recall the end of the map and had to play it again to check about the CC. If the cube is gone there indeed is no way to finish the map as planned. Why did you not pick up the cube which would have triggered the final sequence.

Wow, it's nice to see that this map is still played every now and then :)

It was my first real Hammer project and, true, it does require agility. I wouldn't call it Ninja but that's obvously a matter of opinion. Anyhow, as nice as the Portal Force Gun may be, it is difficult to come up with puzzles that don't require fast reflexes beause it introduces a lot of momentum to the chambers.

Nice concept, a bit too "ninja" for me, but that's solid.

I've never reached the top button in the big room, part 1. Used orange portal on top laser-field surface to get some height, blue portal on grate-surface behind button, and threw the cube throught the grate from floor.

Too much agility required. Neat idea, but you should be testing that players aren't too frustrated. I screamed and swore at my computer too many times playing this to give it a thumbs up. Not satisfying, just a pain.

I would love to use this for mapping! Obviously would credit you for it. I tried the 2nd map out, I admit I cheated a lot. Just couldn't find how to get those cubes out no matter what I did.

But yeah, if you don't mind, I would love to use this in some maps. I have been completely editing PeTI's instances as well as trying to make a whole map in Hammer.

Nice map! took me quite a bit to get used to the mechanics and get past the puzzles, but it works reall. I agree with hellraiser, would be awesome to see more tests

Thanks a lot, Hellraiser! But I'm not sure if I'll ever get to making another chamber with the Portal Force Gun. It's rather difficult to come up with good puzzles for it. However, if you're ever making puzzles in Hammer I'll gladly provide you with the instance for the gun ;)

Thanks for playing and commenting, Unowninator! Maybe I will think of a new puzzle with the Force Gun some time in the future ... but it would have to be 'tight' and so far I didn't have any worthy ideas.

As far as I remember it is possible to get up on the ledge with the cube only with the push portal gun ... it just takes a little different approach than with the suck portal gun ;)

Took me a while to figure out how it worked (I didn't read the description). Very nice feature. Would love to play more. Especially a Co-op level (although some might find this frustraiting).

Also, you can trap yourself in the room where you get the blue portal gun. There's an emancipation grill right by the entrance. If you vaporize the cube after getting the blue portal gun, you can't get the cube back.

Granted that is a flaw of the map ... when I made it I didn't consider the possibility of taking the portalgun with the action key. I could fix this but I don't know if I'll get around to it any time soon because I'm not currently working in Hammer anymore.

it also happens when i save right after getting the orange gun then load after doing the glitch with removing the gun completly(doing USE on the blue gun then going on the pedestel)

Interesting use of the Portal Gun - reminded me very much of Twin Sector game gloves. Yeah it was hard, thanks for the video. The obvious way to go would not work, so one had to find the alternate which you provided - did tend to get frustrating trying to get the obvious jumps to work.

No, not impossible ... if you get stuck, there's a video walkthrough above. It is a new testing element with the force portals so I understand that it takes some time to get used to. And sorry for making it so/too hard. When I'm making a map it's very difficult for me to evaluate the difficulty level because I just know the solution... ;)

I can't reproduce what you're talking about, minecraftIRCmod. When I quicksave and quickload portal force is fully available.

just telling you that i load the quicksaves with a special quickload key which only loads manual saves and doesn't load autosaves, in the source engine games like portal 1 and half-life 2 used it created special quicksave saves, but in portal 2 it's just like a normal manual save, you can't use the normal way of manually saving in comunity test chambers, but you can use the quicksave key in them

Interesting ... haven't tried that and don't have an explanation. But if you get killed and the autosave kicks in everything works fine. I'll look into it!

iv'e played this and it turns out the portals stop emiting force if you quicksave(F6) and then load that, so that's another way to get screwed

Ok, update online. Hey Stimich, thanks a lot for your video. I did take care of those exploits that I deemed fix-worthy. I'm not even gonna start preventing unintended solutions through air strafing in my maps. But the exploit you found to get the cube out from the fizzler section shouldn't be possible anymore ... thing is I can't test that 'cause I haven't got the skills ;)
