Another nice one, Andi. It took me a while to figure out the right way to bounce in that first chamber.

i like learning new things in this game that are easy to do.

Thanks. That trick was one I discovered by accident.

great chamber, cool trick. had to cheat but thats ok learned something new.

I didn't take into account that there needs to be a learning curve when playing this chamber. I just started doing that, my last chamber "The Tombs" has a learning curve.

I'm happy to hear you liked most of it.

I also found the first part very challenging (almost like it's some sort of skill puzzle more than anything :P). However the rest of the test is good.

I'm GLaD you liked it.

Me i like this test. It your best test for me.

You're right. I thought about that after the fact but it was too late to fix it. My new maps don't use new techniques without a "lesson" first.

Thanks for playing and thanks for the comment.

Again, I'll confirm what everyone else said: it's a new, interesting technique, but without guidance it's counter-intuitive. I would not have thought of that on my own. I have two ideas that I've never seen used before, but part of why I haven't made the maps yet is I need to design several smaller puzzles to ease players into it. In my opinion that's what this level needed too: rather than put the new technique first and not reuse it in the other rooms, you should either start with a training room like Mevious does, or design smaller, earlier puzzles to trick the player into finding the new technique by accident and then end with the first puzzle.

Thank you for playing.

I liked this challenging map. I could not get the first chamber. I tried your solution and many others and after a great many fails, I watched your video. I went back and tried until it finally worked. Those turrets were a surprise. Ha ha. I enjoyed the difficulty of the last chamber. Just hard enough. You did good. Thank you.

Thanks.

Very good chamber; the first and the last rooms were excellent!
Andi  [skapare] 6 aug, 2013 @ 9:09
The first section was based on a physical fluke I discovered awhile back. In hind sight I probably made it too hard because as far as I know, no one has ever used it before. I should have had the gel already set but it is what it is. Not one of my better chambers. GLaD you liked the rest of it though.
ZneX 5 aug, 2013 @ 18:09
That was interesting... First section was taking way too many trial and error jumps. I probably didn't do it the way intended but did finally made it. The last section was pretty good.
Andi  [skapare] 6 feb, 2013 @ 13:59
toncica had it a little easier than the one you're playing. There wasn't a glass barrier in the middle like there is now. Still working on yours.
RedSilencer 6 feb, 2013 @ 13:46
Oh. I just noticed that your video is what I did. I'm a fool. ;)
RedSilencer 6 feb, 2013 @ 13:42
So, I completed this map (got absolutely stuck in the ball room but restarted) and was about to start another of yours, but then I noticed the other comments of this post. I completed the map almost exactly as toncica and Innocentive did, except for the first room. In the first room, I splooshed the tilt panel nearest to the gels with a blu gel, and then speed gel'd to it so I would bounce straight up. Then, I would place my portal down below me as I fell so I would come out the opposite tilt panel and just barely bounce off the blu gel on the other side to get to the next room. It took a few attempts, but it felt like the only way. toncica's method was way out there though, I feel I've come up with the most simplistic solution, but in my opinion, with good PUZZLES puzzles comes multiple solutions.
Andi  [skapare] 6 feb, 2013 @ 13:21
Sure, I always like trying new maps.

Nice solution. I tried a different variation of that when I was making this chamber and it didn't work out so I built it as you see it now. I'm beginning to think that you're right. I think this solution might be too far out. I wanted to give it a try because I've never seen anyone else try using it this way. It may show up in the future but only to allow the player to reach a high place. Thanks for trying that out for me. I have a new one ready to go now if you're interested. It's called "Whispers in the Dark". Let me know what you think.
toncica 31 jan, 2013 @ 16:11
I've seen your solution. Strangely enough I tried that before numerous times and couldn't make it work. I guess I did it slightly wrong. As intended solution I think it might be too far out, also the flip panel is deceptive it its current position. You could try for an eternity to make use of it.
Before I watched your solution I tried another way and I thought this ought to be what you meant, apparently it wasn't.

@ toncica Need to make another change. The whole idea of this was to introduce players to a new way of solving an existing element but my short sightedness pretty much screwed it up. I've made changes to prevent the way you solved the first room. I'm going to post a video on how to solve this the way it was intended. I'd like your opionion on it.
toncica 30 jan, 2013 @ 17:59
My first run was pretty much identical to Innocentive's. After the update I had a lot of unsuccessful tries to make the jump in the first room. Couldn't see how it was supposed to work the intended way.

Andi  [skapare] 26 jan, 2013 @ 18:02
You solved everything the way I had intended except for the first room. I'm gong tin make a change that will prevent that. It should make it much harder.
Innocentive 26 jan, 2013 @ 7:09
Nice collection of puzzle chambers! I'm not sure but it felt as if I chose some unintended ways of exiting the chambers. Have a look at the video I made.
