Hi all, to confirm how this was made:
1) Design and test the puzzle using the in-game editor
2) Export the map
3) Load it up in Hammer and make the visual changes
4) Test the map
5) Test it again
6) Go to bed. Go to work. Go to bed. Go to work
7) Test it again
8) Publish to the workshop using the publish tool

I used to use Hammer for making HL1 maps back in the day when it was called Worldcraft - I love that the steam workshop makes it so much easier now to distribute and access DLC. Hammer isn't hard to learn and there are loads of good tutorials and resources online. It's well worth diving in if you're tempted!

@dante - I'll check out the video - I'm always a little wary about the visuals as my laptop can barely run the game so the view distances are normally truncated - especially when looking through portals or (in this case) 3D sky boxes.

@tardis2012: Not a mod. The official program called hammer that was made before the puzzle maker and can do a lot more.

My feedback:
Good map with a nice puzzle, however, the outside areas are horrible with plain black areas, SolarChronus has a tutorial on youtube about using global_ents; very helpful. The swinging light looks strange somehow.

After turning on the portal gel the puzzle turned a little painstaking and away from what I thought was an aggregation of the first part to leap to the exit gate switch. Smart layout with good restriction of movement/outs for the player which then required me to use all that you put in play.
