Having played the demo, it feels to me the same way older sonic games used to. And I like that.

CyberToyger - Good to know! The next demo will have the Setting utility built directly into the game's options menu, so hopefully this workaround still functions by then.

For anyone using the PS3 controller with the MotioninJoy Gamepad Tool, I found that setting it to "Playstation 2 (for PSCSX2 with pressure sensitive)" allowed me to play using the controller, after setting the buttons with the demo's Settings.exe of course.

this game is a magical dream for those that likes sonic or in general retro gaming.
Everything is great in the game, like the music, the gameplay, graphics, character designs. I LOVE IT, can't wait to see it finish :D

JMO611 - 1.3 is the latest public demo. 1.4 will be coming out in the next couple of weeks, though!

hey, Noda, It doesn't matter. Jazz Jackrabbit was a sonic rip off too, but this game. this game is like Adrelean on coffee!

Sonic is just one or the other. And jazz, just kept getting slower with each game.

Despite my doubts about the voice acting, the rest is more than enough to convince me.
Cannot wait to buy it and beat enemies to a pulp with Carol. >:3

BluTuX3K - Thanks! GameTaco's right; Spade and Commander Torque will be unlockable characters at some point. The vanilla version of the game will probably just have Lilac, Carol and Milla for balancing reasons, but we'd like to add the other two as soon as we can.

@BluTuX3K: I believe Spade is a male character, in case you haven't looked up more info on Freedom Planet yet. He's not of the main three, but last I heard, Milla's story is going to be slightly reworked for him to also be made playable in it. He also had the most "Sonic-like" look, so he got a small makeover a few weeks ago.

Also, there are plans for an expansion, in which you can play as the commander (the guy on the right in the header image/new boxart?) Needless to say, this is going to be big. Totally Steam-worthy.
