I was thinking that this one was a lot easier than the other one. Then, I got to the last room. Had to put on my thinking cap. Thumbs up.

The last room really needs some refinement. Everything about it is finicky. It sometimes just flat out refuses to listen to commands or ends up sending me in the goo just by being a few pixels short. When the cube got onto the exit button, the cube got fizzled and had to do everything over again!

For this set of tests, I would have to say that the music was a little loud (even though it fits). As a rule of thumb, try not to keep the music volume above 0.5. Better yet, have a few test chambers without any music at all. Also, it should be possible to fade in/out music with some of the volume settings in the ambient_generic. If it didn't work on your computer, it's probably bugged....

The tests were good! Although simple, it took me some time to solve them. I too, was surprised when a portalable surface wouldn't hold a portal from certain positions in the last chamber (map glitch?).

@GWD9000, Yeah, in heignsight some info_placement_helpers would have worked here, oh well. When you say in the halls that the single portal requirments don't follow meaning you don'y use the portals there? If so, yeah, you really don't. I didn't think I could feasibly have a reason for there being orange portals set up in the old halls. Lastly, regarding the music, I beleive that it fits the areas quite well, the issue is the music cutting instead of fading. Unfortunetly, fading music is impossible in Portal 2, so that issue can't be fixed :/. Still GLaD you liked the map though!

Fairly attractive map design, but same as pouncingDEATH as to the floor surfaces - it made no sense and takes you out of the game moment. Still not a fan of single portal maps, but you give player options (in the main test areas), and not make the mistake of only giving simplistic single solutions, so playability is preserved. Nice looking bridging piece, but when you think about it, the single portal requirements just don't follow... I have music off, because too many get that horribly wrong and I don't want to keep switching it up and then down - I will assume (probably wrongly) from the pD comment that your choice here is also a non-sequitor, but I'll never know for sure... Still, I look forward to seeing your maps, so thanks, and keep up the good work. Cheers.

Pros:
• Single-portal!
• Well designed;
• Clever;

Cons:
• Music cues cut more than fade in;
Some floor panels in second room not as portalable as they should be;

An incredible map. Also I'd like to note that I'm not sure if this exploit would change any steps into beating the final chamber - Shoot a portal on the ceiling facing the orange portal then attempt to aim the portal at the floor near the exit door while endlessly falling until you see this. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/615023797263612829/31F49EC679CD17641A9358688D9597269142BA8C/

1 of the best map I played this week well done man :) I liked that solo portal idea. :)
[ReVo]Editor_of_Future 8. jun, 2013 @ 1:08pm
Nice Testchamber. Good job.
buckfuts1 2. jun, 2013 @ 8:52am
Sweet! the only real problem I had was not being able to identify a portalable surface in the begining of the second room. I ended up just shooting randomly until I got one. Even looking at it closely, it didn't look like a portalable surface.
Awesome atmosphere! Nice work!
Oh yeah! I did see the man (or at least his shadow)! Also, do I really have to replay your levels to find the companion cube? I do love me some easter eggs!
NanoPi 1. jun, 2013 @ 8:50pm
also, I found the man

thankyou for your reply.
Tmast98  [skaper] 26. apr, 2013 @ 7:15pm
@mood3rd, the stairs can be used for an alternative solution, my own intended one.
mood3rd 26. apr, 2013 @ 6:57pm
tmast98
great map.
did not need the stairs, that were deployed in the 1st chamber.
I was pressing the pedestal buttons, through the portals.
& jumped from 1st panel & portaled from area below,
to come out of both orange portals.

last chamber on 1st attempt to get the cube to the button.
it hit the button, then the wall, then bounced back into the fizzler & got destroyed.
to fix maybe the bottom fizzler could go off when the others do.
& a panel block this area ?
your map, your choice of course.
worked 2nd attempt.
no big issue for me, as had done a quicksave.
good fun & a lot of work done here, thankyou :)

tmast98 I really lilke the map, all the green stuff like vines, ferns, floor and wall moss, and them cool mushrooms growing on the wall, the sound of water dripping.... Man it makes me feel like I'm outside. It took me a while but I figured it out.. Great map. Thanks
Belbear 4. mar, 2013 @ 1:27pm
For those who cant solve the final chamber: Here's the spoiler: Fling yourself over to the cube side, take the cube and bring it over to the exit side. (no, you dont have to place it on the button!) Drop the cube on the white floor near the gap, and return to the cube side. Stand on the button and stay there. Still dont get it? See part 2: Shoot portal on the cube, it starts bobbing. When its down, shoot portal on ceiling. Cube starts infinite fall. Shoot portal high on the right side of exit wall. Cube flings into shaft.
quatrus 27. feb, 2013 @ 12:47pm
The final cube to button two took a few tries, it bounces around into the fizzler...it did work eventually. nice map - got here from your TWP link. Like your maps - challenging puzzles
Tmast98  [skaper] 24. feb, 2013 @ 3:20pm
@cplgagnom, congrats on finding it! I hide a companion cube in each map for fun, shhh, our secret though :P
cplgagnonm 24. feb, 2013 @ 3:06pm
I can see you like those jumping holes. I fail to see the point of the hidden compagnion cube in this map. I like the rest. Very good puzzle.
catsit51 23. feb, 2013 @ 10:39am
No problem
Tmast98  [skaper] 18. feb, 2013 @ 11:47am
@catsit51, what man? As for the video, it is not existant until somone posts a walkthrough on youtube I approve of. Sorry bout that.
catsit51 18. feb, 2013 @ 10:33am
1) WHAT IS THAT MAN WHO VANISHED?
2) Where is your video? I'm stuck in the last chamber..
Fallen One 14. feb, 2013 @ 8:51am
This is a very nice map.. the design is superb and the playability is good. The design is what really makes this map. awsome work.
Integer Overflow 2. feb, 2013 @ 4:25pm
Oops. :)
Tmast98  [skaper] 2. feb, 2013 @ 4:22pm
@NR2001, No problem! P.S. its tmast98 not tmask98 :P
Integer Overflow 2. feb, 2013 @ 4:10pm
@tmask98 Wow, thanks!
Tmast98  [skaper] 30. jan, 2013 @ 5:57pm
@NR2001, Fixed that issue! The name of the portal model is portal_emitter.mdl. If you want to toggle it off and on make it a prop_dynamic and change the skin based on button pressing.
Integer Overflow 30. jan, 2013 @ 4:47pm
Also: the fizzlers in the second test chamber don't come out when the button is released.
Integer Overflow 30. jan, 2013 @ 4:44pm
I am making a map with the button-based-testing mechanic, so I was wondering, what is the model name for the bar that goes around the orange portal conductor?
P-Bodeh 30. jan, 2013 @ 8:37am
Cool map! I don't get the last test but thats ok ^^ (my fault)
Jade BGE 28. jan, 2013 @ 11:12am
I agree with Bayram. I enjoyed this very much. It was just my speed, and the look was fantastic. Thanks for your work.
Tmast98  [skaper] 27. jan, 2013 @ 2:42pm
@Bayram, I'm glad you liked it! I was worried abou tthe puzzles being way to simple, but I guess they still had a challenge to them. Thanks for playing!
Falling Darkness 27. jan, 2013 @ 9:33am
SO
I finally got back on.
I have a problem, called, I'm not going to be on often or for extended periods of time anymore due to the fact that I told my parents I was going to get a C in AP Bio. :(
Anywho, enough about me. I have yet to finish your chamber. I am soooooooo close, but I ran out of time. But believe me. I know what to do. If I could just stay alive for a little bit longer... LOL Yea I died a LOT.
Thanks for making such a fun map. I'll be sure to beat the new addition when I get the chance.
Bayram 27. jan, 2013 @ 7:20am
Very good gameplay, difficult, but not frustratingly so, but the environment is incredible. I especially liked the shadow cast through the open door .
