Valcarta: Rise of the Demon

Talon  [author] May 28, 2016 @ 1:12pm
The description as well as the Screenshots have been updated!
Sorry this has taken so long (probably over a year since being Greenlit), but I wanted to make sure I took in all the feedback and applied it positively to the game so that I can provided a good experience.
The graphics itself... sadly, my artist who was working on the custom art for everything got too busy to be able to complete the project, but I have decided to move forward with the release of the game anyway. I hope that the stock graphics aren't a deteran and that people seek this game for a bit of a challenge and a new story to dive into.

The release date isn't set, but it should becoming before the end of next month, if everything stays on track.
Thanks for the continued support everyone. I hope interest remains/can be renewed.

I'd be happy to answer any new questions that may come up as a result of this annoucement!

Check out the announcements for more details, but we have been working on a massive game update taking in a lot of the criticism we have seen here. I hope you enjoy the new look. She should have a new trailer up and ready by next weekend to better show off some of the details.

Thank you everyone!

Thanks for all the Support everyone. It's been just over a year now since Valcarta has been released.
I would like to say that we are 73% of the way to getting into the Top 100 for games on Greenlight.
After reading over most of the feedback, I will be taking this under heavy consideration moving forward when making new games.
As of right now I am lowering the originally purposed priced on Valcarta from $15 to $7.50 as it has now been out for a year.

I hope that all of you who have said yes, would take this time to purchase the game off-steam to support the cause in making the Valcarta IP bigger and better.

Thank you again to everyone and I look forward to hopefully making it onto Steam one day with the games I am working on.

Dude if you just got a bit more dilligent with the graphics, this game could've had a better rating. RTP Graphics aren't that bad but a little customization won't hurt, yeah?

looks like one of those classic old RPGs, you have my vote!
Fredo Sep 18, 2013 @ 5:14pm
this game is clearly inspired by Final Fantasy 1 & 2 Dawn of Souls. And the guy on the picture looks like Sephiroth.

A little bit too obvious, but still have my vote because i always liked this 8-bit and 16-bit classic RPGs so i want to play it. Hopefully the story is original and interesting.

Seems like it'll be a good classic-rpg throwback.

Makes me want to greenlight my own game(s)...

Have to say no for now based on the price and use of RTP data - take this to kickstarter if you need the cash to hire artists.

$5 is a far more fair price, if you priced it at $5 you probably would have seen mass support.

Cheers though, continue to work hard on the game and I wish you success!

I posted yes, but then decided no. It uses RPG maker, and doesn't even bother with custom graphics >_>

Please don't sell this on Steam with the RTP. I don't care if it has other things in it. I appreciate the effort you put into it but I cannot justify the use of my 15 dollars for this. A little more work needs to be put into the game for that price. $5 seems much more reasonable if you are even planning on trying to make money off of this. My suggestion: If you want to sell this game, put it as a bonus for purchasing the 2nd one and make sure the 2nd one has enough of your own work put into it to justify paying you for making the game.

I am going to say what I say to most everyone using RPG maker, I don't have any problem with people using it but.... when they use the default textures that comes with the program, then I have a problem. it shows laziness with the developer that they wont take the time to make their own tilesets and graphics. instead, they take the shortcut and make just a storyline and probably a script they for the battle scene and other possible events... never a good sign, if you want the use the program, that is great however, take the time to make your own tilesets, graphics, sprites, music... pretty much everything. DON'T use ANYTHING that comes with the program except the engine itself. use that stuff for testing and nothing else, otherwise MAKE your OWN stuff and just use the program to create your story. Sorry, this does not get my vote for these specific reasons.

cool game
