thanks alot

I check my maps everyday, so please feel free to ask any question you need help with. The ending is a bit tricky (no ninja moves but you need to know what to do) and very difficult to explain. It's been awhile since I've played this chamber... but give me a couple of days and I can post a video for you.

dont know if anyone is still around to read this but, i am stuk at the end. i think i know what to do (hit the bridge with a portal, hit the ceiling with a portal, then drop down and quickly hit the grill wall with a portal with the bridge . then you can just walk over. my problem is there doesnt seem to be any access to the ceiling while standing on the button. i tried both sides different ways nothing works. so am i wrong in what i think is thw way out.

Thanks for playing. You're right, that is a Toncica trick, in fact, he was the first one to test this chamber before I released it.
p0rtalmaster Aug 11, 2014 @ 1:42am
I remember that ol' trick from Toncica's Cognitive Dissonance maps. It's a little tricky, but I don't think the setup is too punishing (of course I've become an experienced player, so what can I say)...
Nice map. I've actually been meaning to play your maps, although there's a lot, and from a distance they seemed similar to what many mapmakers do :P Anyway, comments should be flowing throughout...

That is the intended solution. GLaD you liked it.

I think it's a great map. I'm sorry I can't figure out the ending. I finished it but I'm pretty sure my method is not a conventionally accepted practice. I liked the cube room the best and I saw the companion hideaway. Thanks and keep on making maps please. I need them.

Thanks, the end part of this chamber is based on one of toncica's chambers.

Super Map! The last part was very clever. " White room" or " No elements" Style.
Andi  [author] Jan 19, 2014 @ 8:53am
I agree, this is on of my hardest chambers. It's proprobly why it didn't do so well.
dire.fcs Jan 18, 2014 @ 11:53pm
And next I'll be Circunventing...
dire.fcs Jan 18, 2014 @ 11:51pm
I started to play it again; but this time I finished it (I guess I had a lucky portal). I'ts a nice maze and jumping puzzle, but that ending is really really tough.
Andi  [author] Jan 18, 2014 @ 11:00pm
@dire.fcs Did you finish? This chamber is one of my harder ones.
Andi  [author] Jan 18, 2014 @ 1:35pm
You can thank toncica for that. He is the one who gave me this idea. I'm sure you can solve it though. I will check back later.
dire.fcs Jan 18, 2014 @ 1:12pm
I'm stuck in the last part of this one!
Andi  [author] Dec 16, 2012 @ 12:53pm
Oh hell, you're right. I'm missing a 'c'. Sorry toncica.
toncica Dec 14, 2012 @ 9:22pm
Off topic, I just realized you never ever spelled my name right. But it's ok, you're not the first to do so. ;)
Andi  [author] Dec 14, 2012 @ 2:50pm
@Innocentive I tried to get that to happen during testing and I couldn't do it. Not sure how you managed that.

@tonica Watched your demo... You solved it exactly the way I had intended except for the jump in the cube room. Innocentive had it right by falling into the pit twice, you can easily reach the ledge. I enjoyed your solution though... although I'd never make it part of my maps. I'm not a Portal ninja and I can't shoot portals that fast and accurately. So if I can't do it easily then I won't put it in my maps.
toncica Dec 14, 2012 @ 2:29pm
For the record, I tried to do that thing from Innocentive's screenshot but couldn't. Not even one pixel, no way. Strange.
Andi  [author] Dec 14, 2012 @ 2:19pm
Thanks for your feedback, I'm happy you enjoyed it.

@tonica I knew you'd recognize it right away which is why I wanted to add the rooms so you'd have to turn on the light bridge and open the exit door. As for your evil plan of re-aranging the buttons... I may consider that.
toncica Dec 14, 2012 @ 12:35pm
Innocentive is right, I went back and tried again. This time I was able to do the jump easily with one hand, while the other was facepalming.
Innocentive Dec 14, 2012 @ 11:49am
Having watched toncica's demo, I'd like to add that reaching the ledge is much easier than he did it ... there's no need to shoot portals while in the air. Yet that can easily be prevented if you want the player to move the way toncica did it.
Innocentive Dec 14, 2012 @ 11:19am
Enjoyable map! I have two remarks: first off, I would make the button on the ledge in the room with the cube more visible from below ... I didn't check through portals what's on the ledge because I could reach the cube by simply flinging without landing on the ledge. Didn't see the button and thought the cube room is a dead end at first.
Secondly: I think I found an exploit in the last step of the puzzle, see here . Is there a second cube in the map? Anyhow, portaling on the ceiling and reportaling while dropping through felt too tricky especially given the weird angle of the portal shoot.
All in all, this is nonetheless a very well composed map! I had lots of fun fizzling all those bad, bad turrets XD.
toncica Dec 14, 2012 @ 11:00am
I recorded my blind run: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16159596/ideas.dem

Naturally I knew what the deal was as soon as I saw the exit room, but it was nevertheless highly entertaining because you put enough other tasks into it that I wasn't sure how it will work out. I can only imagine how hard it will be for players who have no idea yet. If you want to make it pure evil, re-arrange the buttons on both sides of the fizzler so that the light bridge is accessible while you stand on the button in the exit room. That is, among other things, how my chamber originally was when I deliberately wanted it to be deceptive. None of the testplayers could solve it because they focused too much on the light bridge.
