That was a great megachamber.
It took 2 days, I had to draw a 4x4x3 3d map to figure it out.
Congratulations and thank you.

...tatatatatata...
Geneosis 28 feb 2013, ore 13:14
PS @buff00n : Just added some of your maps (not mazes!!!) to my list ;) Mainly the "trick I found randomly" maps :p
Rei  [autore] 28 feb 2013, ore 12:39
So we lost Geneosis here: R.I.P
no additional survivor since buff00n.
Who dares next? ;P
buff00n 27 feb 2013, ore 16:44
Haha. My "mazes" are really closer to obstacle courses than mazes. Rieman's here is the real deal, and 3D to boot.
Geneosis 27 feb 2013, ore 16:02
Thanks for the advice :p It's true that I don't like this type of maze (with a lot of similar rooms everywhere), but I loved to create and to play 3D transparent mazes (with glasses) and sometimes regular 2D mazes :p
Rei  [autore] 27 feb 2013, ore 15:03
Well, mazes don't seem to be your thing. So you better try not to challenge the Maze-Family of buff00n - they're even way worse I think ^__^
Geneosis 27 feb 2013, ore 8:25
I'm lost X) I think I reached 2 places I was not supposed to reach : one with a fizzler and the other with a floor button that open an angled panel... But I was really too much lost to think correctly in this maze, I gave up sorry :p (no rating because of that).
Rei  [autore] 21 gen 2013, ore 10:08
Whoaw, your first maze I did was so ... boah ... now even more difficult?
Ok, I'll try - subscribed to both. Thanks, I'm curious about the unstable cubes.
buff00n 20 gen 2013, ore 20:30
You seem to like ninja puzzles. Give this one a try. Unstable Cubes

I also recommend the next maze puzzle, which does fun things with gels: King of the Maze: Gellin' like Magellan .
Rei  [autore] 16 gen 2013, ore 11:54
- you can see the outside with PORTALS, before funneling out :)
- the exit-turret shall not kill you, so everything all right there
- yes, I added this exit because of that
- yay, you've never seen a player activated self-holding laser yet? *smirk* GLaD you like it!!!
- and no, I won't remove that panel, because it shall hide the laser emitter to make it being THAT surprise, you said it's cool ;)

Thanks for testing! I hope, I see you around my other maps. I just made a new one ( Quadro Avanti ) - and the second before ( Back from Infinity ) may be also of interest for you! Any suggestion of your maps for me?
Rei  [autore] 16 gen 2013, ore 11:53
Yeah, not long ago, I had to delete a big lasergate and was wondering, how much new items I was able to plant instead. So I started thinking of the different costs, just not having had time to search for that information about. Now I am baffled - 1 Fizzler against a dozen lights or turrets ... Whoaw - I think I'll make the cube more deLIGHTful :) The bad thing is, a big laser barrier also use a lot of itemcost, so I can't use them for making the cube more deadly. Also I already learned about the goo-cost, now always just using one by an underground-tunnels connected pool. Fuuuuu - just reading, it's cost is ONE! Thank you for the Link.
(I hate it, when there is even an Item cost in comments...)
buff00n 15 gen 2013, ore 16:59

After raising the piston platform under the laser I didn't know what else to do, so I held the reflection cube up to the laser and lit the target to see what would happen. The fact that it activates another laser to keep itself lit after you drop the reflection cube was the cool part. I hadn't seen that before.

You have to keep it lit for a second or two, which threw me at first. Presumably you have an angle panel that has to get out of the way before the laser can get through. If you cut that angled panel out then it will probably work better, and that will also make enough room for four more lights.
buff00n 15 gen 2013, ore 16:59
You might be surprised how many more items you can get by cutting a few simple things. Different items have different costs. For example, if you take one of those rooms that has a fizzler over an entire wall (3 rows, 9 panels) and limit it to just the opening in the wall (1 row, 1 panel) then that will allow you to add 11 more lights or 11 more turrets.

See here for all the details about item counts and entity counts: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2703507%29

I just let the funnel push me all the way to the exit; so there was only a second or two that I could see the "outside" view of the cubes. The turret doesn't have enough time to kill you before you're past it. I had to go back afterwards with noclip to take an actual look at the exterior cubes.

You're right, I didn't even notice the exit opened by that mysterious pedestal button. I guess you thought of that cubeless shortcut already.
Rei  [autore] 15 gen 2013, ore 14:16
...continued
Well, thinking it over, the reverse direction funnel would make things easier in my opinion (you just should have wait in it for the companion, which I see fun in). Sadly you killed the final intended way. But finding a way around that - I honestly never gave much thought to and thinking of it, it's easier than with the reverse - makes you looking like a ninja ;)

I am GLaD, you had fun! I just hope, you didn't find another unintended way around my laser activation puzzle *sigh* ... I'm a burnt child" with that (see comments) ... what was so cool in it?
Rei  [autore] 15 gen 2013, ore 14:16
Thank you very much, buff00n, for your com(pli)ments.
If I wasn't at the item limit, I would have started now with deadly traps :)
So it's more a puzzle adventure than a being-killed-every-minute, which I personally dislike.
I - as the creator, walking through with up to 19 minutes - would be really baffled, if you could have beaten them!
Well, I already arranged the light stripes to get as much light out as possible. And for the dead ends, they aren't worth to be lightened anyway I think, making more atmosphere and letting the cube look even bigger. (How do you like the look from "outside", counting the rooms ... without getting curious about something odd...?)

The 3-second pedestal opens a door in the very same room, out of the initially closed laser-sector. You should have seen that, as it is for exactly those open-eyed people, wo are able to reach into this apposition of rooms without a cube, with no way else out, thinking to stuck!

To be continued...
buff00n 14 gen 2013, ore 17:27
Very nicely done! It took me a long time to figure out, but once I did I went back and tried it again. I wanted to see if I could beat 19 minutes. I cannot.

I actually saw the movie you're paying homage to, a long time ago. This one is less deadly but more tricky than its namesake.
buff00n 14 gen 2013, ore 17:27

Like others have said, I'm not a fan of dark rooms even if they're mostly dead ends. Even if you're just below the item limit there are things in here that you can pare down to make room for more lights. Unless, of course, darkness is part of the "challenge".

There's a 3-second pedestal button on the bottom floor that I didn't use. I couldn't figure out what it did. Is that just to drive people crazy?

Likewise, I never used the reversed direction funnel.

You can get into the laser room without a cube. You have to place portals so you can stand on the button, then quickly come off it, go through a portal, and shoot the ceiling behind the door before it closes. That's less of a short cut than a way to get yourself stuck, though.

I liked the laser trick, that was unexpectedly cool.
Rei  [autore] 7 gen 2013, ore 11:05
Ps.: I'm proud of you, not having given up after that "penalty"!
Rei  [autore] 7 gen 2013, ore 11:03
Well, confusing it's meant to be a lot! I take it as a compliment. ^_^
It's only for the hardest players of the world *smile*
You should look out for the other "(movie) Cube"s out there ... there is a real 5x5x5 one, I once finished! You know the contrary small number of mine now.
How did you like the look from outside the cube in the end? I meant, not just in the funnel but using portals to look back. And didn't you then notice something odd (counting)?

I lack of items to use - I'm at the very limit! Else I would consider of a shortcut where you meant. And even more laser gates and doors in every connection between the rooms and more light and overall enrichment. Yes, I was very fighting with enough light - that was a big challenge to keep the puzzles good and with enough light! Anyway, once you drop the sphere, there will be a shortcut at last. And so it's a sentence if you not always keep your spheres together until there ;)
Ebbzylon 6 gen 2013, ore 23:32
I finally made it! Had to take the time to draw a map on paper. Would never have completed it otherwise :-O (I lack the memory). Very challenging, certainly one of the most confusing map I played (Not a critic, its all right with me). One major pain for me though, may be just because I missed a way to avoid that it, is that once I got the sphere, I carried it and the cubes for a couple of rooms, then noted where I had left it, until I would find its pressure plate. Though, once I found that I could not easily get back to the sphere, because I had used the cubes to get to the other place, and could not get my hand back on the cubes.... so I had to redo most of the initial puzzle, to respawn the cubes, only to get back to that sphere. May be, once we've unlocked the passages, they should remain unlocked?

It was quite a challenge, so thumb up for that.

I'll reup for another run at it. See ya round the workshop.
Rei  [autore] 27 dic 2012, ore 15:18
Thank you ted. That puzzle was very nice and ... yes, the problem wasn't fixed, even in the updated version, so I had to do another update! It should be now even more clear, that the laser can't be activated by laser through portals. At least I hope so. Are you willing, to do the cube again now? There are even more rooms to be observed and puzzles to be solved. By doing the laser unintended, you skipped some. If you had fun already, it won't stop! ^_^
stormsend 27 dic 2012, ore 0:55
The laser puzzle in Testing - Testing 1-2-3 was what tipped me on how to do the laser thing. Don't know if it was the latest but I'll look.
Rei  [autore] 26 dic 2012, ore 14:37
Well, so another map was showing you how to solve the laser? Which one I'd like to know.
And are you sure, you did it the intended way, in the latest version? (see spoiler below)
stormsend 26 dic 2012, ore 13:45
What I meant was the solution was invisible to me until I had played another map and saw the way I should solve it.
Rei  [autore] 26 dic 2012, ore 13:36
Hi Ted, I'm GLaD you and your bro ;) liked the map!
I don't really understand, what you mean by "saw the solution while playing another map"?
The laser puzzle needs another puzzle to be finished first, before it should be able to finish, even you get the lasercube down there. Except, you played the old version before I did a fix after Ebbzylon found a shortcut. Or did you find another one? See ya!
stormsend 23 dic 2012, ore 10:11
Whew! That was some puzzle. Me and 2broke worked on it for a couple hours. It definitely was a lot of fun. I know it's a part of the puzzle but I didn't like the dark rooms. Hell I didn't like some of the light rooms either come to think of it. That darn laser had us going for a while and to be honest I saw the solution while playing another map. Lucky break. Thanks for the entertainment. See ya round the workshop.
Rei  [autore] 21 dic 2012, ore 13:35
Thanks for showing me my failure in the laser puzzle! Meanwhile I found another glitch, that I also had to fix, so I repaired two things today. So your video is out of date.
Get sure, you download the newest version, when you continue to play. Maybe now you better start with drawing a map ^_^
Have fun!
Ebbzylon 21 dic 2012, ore 12:14
I see the exit, got the flip panel on the white side, but could not find a usable funnel. I'm guessing one of those many pressure plates/cube plates is doing something for me, but could not figure out which one yet. :-S I'll take a break on this one for a while.
Ebbzylon 21 dic 2012, ore 11:02
It misses the last few seconds (I only have 30 seconds on the free version of fraps), but it gives you the information you wanted.: connecting the laser .
Ebbzylon 21 dic 2012, ore 9:12
OK, I'll record a video on that section next time I play (work?) on that map :-)
Rei  [autore] 21 dic 2012, ore 4:43
Ok, I'll wait for it. But I would like to know, how you did this with the laser as I can't get an angle to shoot on.
Ebbzylon 20 dic 2012, ore 20:07
Hmmm, no. I do not remember using a star. Just portals and the reflective cube. But, I'll give it another try when I have an hour or so of free time.
Rei  [autore] 20 dic 2012, ore 9:54
@Ted: somebody seem to pass you. Haven't you had playtime meanwhile?
@Ebbzylon: I would like to know, if you activated the laser the intended way. Without spoiler I can ask, did you use the star? If so, I don't think that a map will be necessary any more. Keep on your good work in progressing! ^_^
Ebbzylon 19 dic 2012, ore 15:13
I activated the laser, but was failing to find the next step. I think I will have to draw a map, cuz I'm going in circle a lot :-) I like the puzzle, I'll come back to it later. I love it when the solution does not jump in your face as you enter a room :-)
Rei  [autore] 10 dic 2012, ore 16:07
Cool you are here, as it's rather a walk in "the" cube than in the park. You may find out the laser part, if you walk through all possible chambers ... and maybe again, as they may change. And I'm not moving, meeting you at the exit!
stormsend 10 dic 2012, ore 15:37
I am struggling with the laser. run out of time play again tomorrow.
Rei  [autore] 26 nov 2012, ore 15:34
Ps.: It can't get even more huge. This level and my first one, the "Free CC" are on the top of being able to use items. Just here is used more space - and the end shall be very movie-like! Would be a shame, not to play it to the end.
Rei  [autore] 21 nov 2012, ore 11:01
Well, they may be big, though, but still not this huge ^_-
Made it through already? Had fun? Listening on Port#Comments!
DeMille3 20 nov 2012, ore 17:52
And I thought my levels were big.
