Superposition Funnel 2

I may have to rethink this one a bit too, maybe reduce the number of portalable walls. Here is the intended solution: screenshot - at this moment just enter the funnel and press the button, everything will go by itself :)

I didn't need the blue funnel. Not sure what it was supposed to do. And even with the second funnel the cube didn't stay in place one time. But wasn't looking that way when it happened.

Now I see thet your solution need a bit of skills to make everything fast. And sorry for a mistake, the command to play the .dem file should be "playdemo sfn2" - then you can watch my intended solution, which requires a bit of thinking, but is easy to perform. It was recorded on an older version of the map, but the solution itself is the same.

My solution:
Get cube into main room using the button and orange funnel.
Place cube on floor between laser beam and the main funnel.
Use blue funnel to "fly" up to the ceiliing in a position directly above the white portable surface that is closest to the grates directly across from the funnel.
Quickly make a portal below the main funnel to "push" the cube into the laser beam and then quickly place that portal back to the original position on the floor near the grates. This allows the player to remain "floating" up high. This may time several ties and must be done corectly to make sure the cube stays on the beam.
From here, I can just all into the exit platform area now that the 4 angled panels are raised and the exit door is open.

Well, after you are saying all this, I wonder how did you actually made it :) The second funnel is only to hold the cube where it should stay, because for some unknow reason that one funnel is not enough and it slips away . About not using the ceiling portal, I think you can also use the floor surface, but it needs more coordination. Anyway I would like to know how you solved it :)
About the .dem file, it's a strange valve's format, to view it you have to copy the sfn2.dem to steam/steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2 open game and type "play sfn2' in console. I know it's strange, but with my slow upload speed it works faster than uploading any video.

Ah, ha! I finally figured it out. However, I did not need to use the portal surfaces above the laser field on the ceiling and I did not need to use the second superposition funnel behind the angled panel.
I could not get your demo file to play so I am wondering if I did it correctly.

Well, reaching the exit took me the longer than expected :p But then I thought why adding a second blinking funnel that cross the first one? And the solution was quite evident after that ;) Really great puzzle ^^

I think I have plaid on most of your maps now lol sorry for all the F4F's Its habit lol. btw the juggler and cube logic maps require ninja skills to complete. If ya dont like portal ninja'ing try rail shooter :P

Thanks for testing :) I'll think about making a coop map. I've added your maps to queue.

nice solution. took me about 20 mins to work it out. propa head scratcher. I would liek to see some coop map too #F4F

Ok, if you have no idea of solving it here is the demo []. It's an obvious spoiler:)

I didn't think it was that hard. Maybe I'll record a .dem later, but now some hints:
1.The pedestal button switches between orange/blue funnel (the timer that can be heard does not matter).
2.Disabling the laser receptor will make the funnel superpositioned.

I used your funnel in one I built called Rudy's Revenge. It is an easy map compared to yours. If you get time check it out. Thanks

WOW! this beats me. Nice map, but couldn't solve it. I will try again sometime.

1. I was asking about your words "help work on a project" - did you mean making a map together (I think it's possible by adding contributors), or just wanted to ask for some info here?
2. Making the superposition funnel is the whole magic :) If you want to learn how the mechanism works, check out this map by Geneosis. You have to activate the mechanism by yourself there. In my maps it is all hidden, because the mechanism is quite noisy and annoying when exposed.
I used a similar idea about fizzlers, if you're interested look for Superposition Fizzler 0 and 1 in my Workshop.

Wait... How do they work? Like, what do I use to make them be superposition funnels?
blob211134 is a furry Nov 26, 2012 @ 3:23pm
Well, I mean a middair suspension and limited flight idea I had. These superposition funnels would keep you from performing a successful launch from a faith plate, or let you fly up, down, forward and back, but nowhere else. So, in co-op, one player might have to hold a button to turn on the funnels, and the other will have to fly over to somewhere else to get a cube.

I guess yes. But what do you mean exactly?

You did great on these maps. Would you like to help work on a project involving these?
