A while back, I started to remake this chamber in hammer. I was going to go with the destroyed style and modify it a bit. Then I was asked to participate in making chambers for two different mods so I put it on hold. I haven't touched it since.

I was laughing when I locked myself in the first room ^^ I was at the deactivated death fizzler and sent one cube back via the faith plate. The cube landed on the laser cube and turned it; the laser didn't hit the receptacle anymore so the death field was turned on again and I was trapped.
I agree with others about the large scale of, especially, the final arrangement in room #3. But you get my thumbs up for the out-of-the-box idea with the second (technically first) laser cube. Back in room #2 I was wondering why it has to be a laser cube ;-)

This one had me running around for a long time. I kept wondering how everything fit together, then BAM, it all made sense. I didn't read the description before I played, so I thought I would have to go back and find the CC, but there isn't one so I'm finished. Thanks for the fun--thumbs up!

The bottom part kinda reminded me of another cool test (it was Hammer-made...). Overall, long but nice.

A whole lot of fun solving this one. Not too hard but you really had to think and plan. This is a great design. You worked hard on this I'm sure. That last chamber was a doozy to get set up but it worked just fine. Pat yourself on the back and get some rest. Thanks. Visit me when you can.

Thank you for your compliment. As too the waiting at the end for the gel... I did think about that when I was putting this together but I didn't see anyway around it as far as how the three rooms were tied together so I left it.

I enjoyed this map ... not as difficult as your last ones but who needs die hard challenges all the time? You cleverly connected the three rooms, not only physically but also puzzlewise ... very nice idea! What I didn't care for so much was the large style painting in the ending which imo took too much time and was also a little tricky because of timing and view restrictions. It kinda interrupted the flow of the puzzle solving. I see how the large distances were necessary for the puzzle itself but there was just too much waiting involved. Also aiming the laser in the end was sort of a pita due to the large distances....

I think you are stranded on the island with the laser relay if you lose the portal to the light bridge. No other way to get back.

Never mind, I got it by copying the link to explorer and downloaded it from there.

Well, that's exactly what I was talking about. I knew it could be done that way because I did the same thing. I did add angled panels so that jump would come in too low but I didn't like the look of them so I took them out again. Perhaps I should put them back in.

Sorry, I'm an idiot sometimes. When I click on the link to go to the file it doesn't go anywhere. The screen turns black and the little dial in the upper left corner spins and spins and spins and spins... I waited over 10 mintues and nothing happened.

Ahem, that is not a video but a demo file. You copy it into the portal2 folder and then start it from the console with the command "playdemo mayhem". Unless you updated the map it should work and show an exact replica of my playthrough.

I knew about the laser catcher and I did have something in place to prevent that uninteded solution but I hated the way it looked so I took it out and said "Screw it".

I thought it was harder but I guess it's just meduim huh? Oh well.

It looked much harder than it was. I expected you to be really mean regarding opening the exit but that was rather easy. There were one or two things I did that were surely unintended. In the last room there is a second laser catcher that I didn't activate at all.
