thankyou for the thumbs up.

Tral and error. Really did not have a clue. Then, by sheer luck, tried something and that was the solution. Thumbs up.

YEP I DID THAT THE FIRST TIME

great :)
well done.
using the correct item / tool, for the correct job, is the main part of this puzzle.
most failers involve using the wrong item / tool.

AFTER 2 TRIES I FINISH IT, GREAT CHALLENGE, GREAT FUN, 2 THUMBS UP

congratulations :)
this map threw a few people, due to the unconventional use of one of the items.
hope you enjoyed yourself.
SkyRoots Jul 20, 2013 @ 10:47pm
That was intense. Took me about 25 minutes to solve it. No hints, no comments, no spoilers.

great :)
but thankyou again for pointing out the confusion a portable panel had.
glass panel stops players thinking they should fling from it, somehow.
so once again your feedback is helpfull :)
Big Moustache May 31, 2013 @ 7:30am
Well, play your map (simple turret probleme 6 ) helped me. So I used gravity and understood the utility of inclined panel. Good :)
mood3rd  [author] May 30, 2013 @ 8:39am
Moustache
you had trouble with the laser field,
because you used an unitended solution.
so removing or altering the height of the laser field is not neccessary.
I re-tested & never died, using the intended solution.
as for not finding anything else:
the room next to the exit chamber, has a funel, polarity funel & alternating funel.
their is also a light bridge in the chamber above.
the title, "choose you button wisely" is for you to make the right choice in what you use.
the central concept of this map.
no ninja skills required.
hope this helps.
if not, just ask a specific question & I will help.
Big Moustache May 30, 2013 @ 6:13am
Mood3rd, I used the blue funel. I did not find anything else. Maybe I should try
mood3rd  [author] May 28, 2013 @ 1:25pm
Big Moustache
thankyou for your feedback.
I have changed the portable panel to a glass panel,
to avoid players thinking they have to use it.
before I respond to your other point. (which I will)
what did you use to exit ?
the light bridge, funel, polarity funel or alternating funel ?
& thankyou for the thumbs up.

Everything went well except the end. I burned myself a lot of times on laser field on ceiling. Does it not be better if the laser field was a little higher? It would be easier without removing the interest of this room. (I was discouraged)
What is the use of the inclined panel activated by the sphere ?
Thumb up of course :)

glad you made it :)
I have added your map to my list.

don't feel bad.
your not the only person to try everything else 1st.
& you probably won't be the last.
glad you did the intended solution in the end.
though as usual, you went & broke the map, later on.
you are good.
revenge is yours :)
thankyou for the video again.
Aardvark64 Mar 1, 2013 @ 4:19am
Wow that was a harrowing experience. I first tried everything I could think of doing with the light bridge and did get the sphere to roll around in the corner sometimes blocking the laser so that the 2 small laser fields turned off in the first room. I was hoping to be able to do an angled drop to the exit when they turned off but because it was only open on a timer it never happened!
Eventually it dawned on me what the reason for the alternating tractor beam might be and got there, but not without being grateful for F6 a few times :) I have a 3rd chamber published if you would like to try it.

You're killing me. I was beginning to feel really stupid and inept. For some reason I thought the zero gravity field was a red herring and I didn't test it to reach the exit. Instead I tried every other option you can think of, again and again, without success of course. I see that you took away some portal surfaces for exactly that reason and some other measures to foil those plans. My first run was around 45 minutes and I nearly gave up at certain times, it felt a lot longer because of the immense amount of failing. In the end I finished it the intended way I think. The option I had ignored for most of the time was the best. Silly me.
I went back to try another way, this time without fear of failing, because I felt beaten and had a hunger for revenge. Ha, take this: http://youtu.be/gfSwf1jkmHg

MeatBag
the cube dropper in the 2nd chamber has no connections.
it is set to auto spawn 1st cube (which should be there when you arrive)
& auto respawn, if destroyed.
the sphere dropper in the upper level, is activated by the pedestal button,
in the opposite side, above the laser field & observation room.
the pedestal button on the floor, on that side, does not connect to the cube dropper.
be carefull pressing the pedestal button above the laser field.
quicksave "F6" recomended.
also in the exit room quicksave "F6" very strongly recomended.
I hope you find this helpfull.
any problems, I will be happy to help.
MeatBag Feb 7, 2013 @ 2:36am
I see ball dropper with only 3 waves sign. I put cube on button with 3 waves sign. I don't see any drop through portal.
mood3rd  [author] Feb 7, 2013 @ 2:26am
MeatBag
is their a specific problem ?
all items are visible to the player.
mainly signage as won't build with antlines.
if you are having problems, I will be happy to help.
please be specific, so I understand exactly what you are having problems with
& your progress so far.
MeatBag Feb 7, 2013 @ 2:09am
Is there any hidden connections?..

Zero gravity field sounds perfect to me.
mood3rd  [author] Feb 2, 2013 @ 2:31pm
I first seen it as a demo map.
I can't remember it's creators name or the name of the map.
but it was only used as a zero gravity field.
the mechanism was on show.
you walked through the entrance, across a pit.
you walked on air.
then you exited.
end of map.
so go with "ZERO GRAVITY FIELD"
untill some one corrects us.
I have never seen anyone use it in the way I do in this map.
Jade BGE Feb 2, 2013 @ 2:15pm
Yes I recognize it, but does it have and official or at least a common reference as to its name or what do you call it? And I thank you for your readiness to share.
mood3rd  [author] Feb 2, 2013 @ 2:06pm
Jade BGE
glad you enjoyed another one :)
did you recognise, the mechanism you used.
the same I explained to you, that you said you word copy & paste, for future reference.
it has more than 1 use after all.
remember you are welcome to encorporate any ideas in my maps into your own.
Jade BGE Feb 1, 2013 @ 7:12pm
Oh I chose - what is that choice called? Space, propulsion; regular, unleaded, supreme; the fun one, whatever it is that is what I chose.
Jade BGE Feb 1, 2013 @ 7:08pm
O my goodness! That was a trip and a half I must say. I fiddled I diddlded and I finally got it! Success. Your puzzles are one of a kind. Thanks for sharing your unique ideas with all of us.

Geneosis
thankyou for your comments.
as for reaching the exit, the right tool for the right job.
I have given you a choice, as in the title, "choose you button wisely".
choosing the right one is the main part of the puzzle.
I strongly recommend F6 quick save, before returning to the exit chamber.
due to updates, removing exploits.
the comments below, may now do you more harm than good.
all the best :)
Geneosis Dec 31, 2012 @ 4:24am
Well, the idea is cool, but it is really, really hard to get what does what button X) I was able to reach some places and do some things.. But still don't get how to reach the exit :p Will try again later ;)
mood3rd  [author] Dec 18, 2012 @ 3:34pm
Reiman well done.
you exited with the correct sollution.
this machanic is used in 1 of my other maps.
but I did this with the wrong options available,
to show a situation where only this mechanism will work.
again could not use antlines, as would not build or publish with them.
signage is a poor substitute, but may still help some people.
so I will use signage for them.
I just subscribed to your map "port dump"
Reiman Dec 18, 2012 @ 11:38am
Well crafted and updated I think! Couldn't find an alternative route.
I'm not a fan of multiple signages (at least on the wrong place), so I went nearly crazy, since I activated the cubebutton with the triple-wave, waiting for the sphere but nothing happened. In the end I found the fourth triple-wave and used blue funnel to activate sphere. Got out with alternating funnel after thinking of jumping into the tilted panel with a portal, but looking back to the exit room made me forget that fast! Quid pro quo, Doctor! #F4F
daloboy Dec 4, 2012 @ 4:47pm
No no no! No hint! Thanks.
mood3rd  [author] Dec 4, 2012 @ 11:52am
the exit is in the 1st chamber, that you started in.
the physical route is the way you entered the 2nd chamber,
but you have to do other things 1st & choose the right tool to take to the exit chamber.
the right tool is essential.
eg. light bridge or 1 of the funel types.
warning: the wrong choice, may lead to death by laser field.
I suggest that you use quick save, before returning to exit / entrance chamber.
hope this helps.
if you need help or hints etc, I will be glad to help :)

thankyou.

I will try gladly!

I have updated this map, to stop exploits that you found.
thankyou.
if you can still break it, your feedback will be welcome.
also stopped exploits I found, during further testing.
daloboy Nov 15, 2012 @ 4:37pm
Your so kind! On my first attempt: I did go up, retreived the sphere and all. But once I saw the light bridge, I used it to get to the last button, but needed the blue funnel for the door.
mood3rd  [author] Nov 15, 2012 @ 3:23pm
wow, your great.
the intended solution involved the cube button nearest the wall,
with the alternating funel.
as it also activates a laser, that activates fizzlers,
the sphere was to go into the sphere button, to activte the panel,
which blocked the laser, activating the fizzlers.
so you could leave the room, with the alternating funel.
then do what you did, with all the time in the world.
this was surposed to prove the value of an alternating funel,
over the blue & orange funel & light bridge, in certain circumstances.
but your skill beat it.
daloboy Nov 15, 2012 @ 11:12am
Here how I did it: video
daloboy Nov 14, 2012 @ 8:22pm
About the angled panel: don't remember just now, but will try again and let you know.
mood3rd  [author] Nov 14, 2012 @ 6:04pm
falling turrets, yes I like to go for surprise, originality or emotional responce.
but save the player from death, most of the time.

glad you had fun.

I die more on my maps testing them, than playing other peoples.
while trying to test different things a player might do.
then decide on altering the map to make it as good for the player, as I can.
eg on simple turret problem 1, where the faithplate throws you onto a button,
with loads of turrets in front of you.
I died a lot, turning the turrets just right, so they start targetting you,
but don't get off a shot.
when they did not see me, it was not as good.
but when shoots you just once, you miss the button & they all shot you to death.
took a lot off deaths, to get it just right.

how did you press the pedestal button in the exit room & survive.
without deploying the angled panel ?
please use the spoiler.
daloboy Nov 14, 2012 @ 10:01am
Always surprises falling turrets! Had fun! Died once with the last button...(toke out my light bridge Duh!) and didn't use the angled panel! Nice!
mood3rd  [author] Nov 1, 2012 @ 1:47pm
tedwilliams4808 thankyou.
I am glad you enjoyed it.
I have used this machanic in other maps I made.
but this was to prove that in certain curcumstances, this can do what the others can't.
(which is why they are all available to the player.)
also, I show the machanism to the player.
for them to understand how it works & how to build their own.
I would normaly have it hidden off the map the player can access.
using a few funels conected to this gate, you can set up a antigravity field, as well.
stormsend Nov 1, 2012 @ 1:12pm
Hey buddy that was a really cool trick. I played the map several times but today I hit the right combiation and was it cool. Two thumbs up.
