Lol, this is definitely way below your current standards. The simple version is much better.
Polux 2016
Just a little strip light can stop the crooks of my kind here ;)
Ninja doesn't come close to describe you. I saw the laws of Portal 2 being violated again by you. You are of course a renowned ninja and occasionally the inveterate puzzle rapist. ;)
Polux 2016
I had not played those little maps yet. Pretty fun.
 https://youtu.be/i2ouvHoGw5Q
I guess it's intended : https://youtu.be/b023JI44EDw
Indeed some little parts are quite hard (almost frustrating) to execute.
Fortunately we can say that I'm an inveterate ninja :)
i really need to learn how to strafe farther.
I hope I understand the question correctly. The answer would be yes. The description is telling the truth when it says "skill required".
do you have to do that strafing to get high enough to reach the ceiling? i have to most problem with strafing. dire tried to teach me. he is so patient haha
this jump is difficult,
Why do you want a space in the middle of a white wall
Well I'll try and comment on it on its thread since it belongs there and need a boost. But generally speaking, you can never please everyone especially if you make hard maps. I might have hated it myself in my early days - unless it was unintended, there's a move towards the end that if you never came across it before you migth never figure out. But since I've been around the block a few times the challenge.level of Sandy was perfect for me, as was the way the map was laid out and the progression. My favourite of yours so far.
Ooh, that's interesting news that you played Sandy's Twin Adventure and liked it. Some people told me the changes I made there went too far. I'm happy with the chamber as a creation but not sure about how enjoyable it is.

It's rather the other way around, the simple version was stripped of any deception and execution obstacles after first playtesting, and later I added this version which is closer to the first draft because why not.
Well you can combine both. Although to be fair the effects are hardly visible with so little momentum, but it's been useful for me on other maps..

Anyway for the portal thing it's such a pixel hunt that anybody coming across it will know it's not intended. And trying to reproduce it took me tons of trials. So may not be worth the bother.

I liked this one, I'm not sure there was much added in this version from the simple one puzzle-wise (apart from the cube catch) but the looks were certainly improved. But I loved your Sandy's twin adventure.
Thanks for telling. I did not manage to shoot a portal there when I was testing the chamber, maybe I wasn't crouching. As for the wiggle technique and your suggestion, I'd rather make a 180 degree turn and change strafing directions after 90 degrees, seems like the most relaxed way to me.
Don't know if anyone already mentioned it, but you can just about shoot a portal on the ceiling of the first room from the pressure plate in the second while crouching . With that you can finish without using the lightbridge. You may want to fix that.

Otherwise finding the right solution did not took me long, but I had played the simple version before. I liked the concept. For me the only ninja part is the final air straffing to go beyond the non portable surface on the floor as you don't have much momentum. I see josepedz used the wiggle technique, but another one that not many people know is to shoot a portal elsewhere after you emerge, to be free of the portal attraction more quickly.
I agree it's hard to execute and usually it's not the prefered way. I think to have one such map once in a while is allowed when it's stated that skill is required. Not trying to mislead anyone, but unfortunately not everybody reads the description before playing (me included).
PS. Looked at josepezdj solution mine is the same. Frankly speaking in my view current version is not solvable in other way. I was close to make a angled jump just to avoid the back and forth jumps but lost interest after 20+ jumps...
I got it in 30 min but was discouraged by ninja moves. I don`t think this is solvable the easy to perform way. Execution was the hardest part and I`m not keen on such maps. In my personal ranking this is nowhere near your exeptional "Lost". Going to your other maps :)
Thanks for the demo. It wasn't quite as intended, didn't think of doing that and probably only few people would. Updated the map, if you've seen the video by josepezdj then you know the intended solution.
Fatso 2013
Here is my video on how I solved it, took me about 20 min on my first run though. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ewqjjv0dqy0ouuf/cognitive.dem
Thanks for playing. You picked already the hardest one when it comes to execution I think. I thought it should have been more of a challenge than it apparently was. 20 minutes is probably the fastest playthrough unless it was done in an unintended way.
Brave 2013
@toncica, very nice chamber designed and the puzzles were nice too!
I was gonna make a Vid. for you but I se josepezdj already has a recent 1.
I did my jump differently than josepezdj to pick up the light bridge!
I'll check more of your maps out, and fine one to make a Vid.
Fatso 2013
Excellent chamber great puzzle took me about 20 min. to solve it with some creative jumping now i'm going to watch how other people solved to see if it's the same way I did.

What a great challenge! ;) I loved it, but I've spent a real lot in it before solving it. Here is the video solution:

Thanks for creating!
Much harder after the update but still possible. Good challenging map ;)
Some visuals updated and the puzzle is a little bit harder now.
Yeah, usage of the light bridge is supposed to be mandatory. I removed some portal surfaces to prevent your air strafing.
It's possible I missed something, is the lightbridge required in the intended solution? Anyway, here's my blindrun (12mins): https://www.dropbox.com/s/1s8gjet7pvp1fmd/cognitivedissonance_complex.dem I didn't find it too hard but I haven't played the simple one.
^gives love to this chamber. Good place to require some clicky-skills since the simple version doesnt leave much puzzle to solve.
I can't solve it. You win.

great map.
1st I did the steps used in the simple version.
then I did the following, which included re-spawn cube / catch it / drop onto button.
jump through the high portal, from glass.
then fire 2nd portal where laser hits portable area.

hard map.
I strugled with the simple version, on 1st attempt, failed.
but was well worth re-playing, success.
as it is essential knowledge, for this map :)
hat off to you. Favorited

Amazing map! Doing the simple one first made it a lot easier to figure out.
Loved the map and the ninja moves requiered, but I think I would not have figured it out without the hints in the comments.
Aw, but I like that part. Actually I have seen a quite easy way to do it: face the button when you stand on the light bridge with your back towards the glass. then jump backwards and press the button simultaniously, you almost can't miss it.
The Sojourner 2012
Not to worry, Gig hasn't actually released his maps (although I don't know why he hasn't released them because they are amazing).

My main suggested change: expand the glass floor nearby the cube dropper...or something to lessen the ninja skills needed in that area (toward the end of the solution).
What changes would that be? This one is much closer to the original draft and the changes I have applied after not so enthusiastic feedback can be seen in the simple version. I like that one too, but I thought some people would also enjoy the ninja action.

So Gig did that too? That makes at least three people who had done this before me and I wasn't aware of it. Makes me hesitate to try anything "new", because apparently there is always someone who already did it.
The Sojourner 2012
I broke down and gave this one a thumbs down out of frustration. Just one or two small changes wouldn't hurt. I could see the solution clearly though, and the test is elegant. I prefer your simple version though, as it's much less ninja.

If it weren't for playing Gig's unseen maps it probably would've taken me a while to get the portal momentum trick....

...actually it wouldn't.
And yes, that was the intended solution.
Thanks for playing :)

Apparently this version receives significantly less love than the small one. Good to see that there are still people out there who are not only attracted by the word 'simple'.
I really liked this gameplay element, assuming it was intended: ***Big Spoiler*** To get a portal onto the ceiling in the first room with me and the activated light bridge in the second room, I shot a blue portal onto the overhanging ledge in the second room from the first room while standing on the fizzler button, then portaled orange onto the floor in the first room directly below the ceiling. I jumped into orange and while falling out of blue portaled blue onto the floor, and while rising up through orange I shot orange onto the ceiling and had enough speed to go through orange back into the second room. Simply awesome.
Lmao! Thanks for the solution, I feel so stupid since I actually tried that and didn't even realize that I solved it! :D

Great puzzle, required thinking and it's fun.
You're almost done. As you noticed the cube being on the light bridge button is problematic from this point on. You definitely need the light bridge deactivated for when you return to the exit section. Hint: not only are you near the dropper, the button for the dropper is not far away too.
I really like this test, but I have to admit that I'm stuck. Obviously, I don't even know if what I've done so far is intended. A little boost would be appreciated: I can easily get myself onto the glass near the dropper and walk out over the light bridge (with the cube on the external button), but of course I can't get out of the light bridge area above the exit door. It seems like I've done everything right up to this point, though I guess not :)

Interesting map. Lots of unconventional methods required. Was fun.

There is brain skill required ^^ Good Chamber. I had think very very much :) Thank you toncica.
