I am using Celtx, it is free and works fine.

i really want this x_x

Also: The Matrix Operator:

Celtx *used* to be better, but now it only offers a "trial", followed by a minimum $6.99/month subscription fee thanks to its "cloud connectivity" crap.
That would be handy, if one were working on a script writing team. Otherwise it's pretty pointless (and expensive!) for a solo writer.
They want to make it easy to "sync across all of our products", when all one really needs to do is install Dropbox and away you go with any other solution you like. I refuse to be milked every month just for the privilege of using their software to write scripts.

One of the main standards for script writing is called Final Draft. It's a very fast program for the task, and uses a lot of intelligent shortcuts to speed up the writing process with a simple keystroke.

It also uses a simple XML format for its saved files, which is very handy if you intend to use the saved scripts outside of the program for any reason. Personally, I use it to write audio play scripts, and use a website to read the files and display the scripts in an easy-to-read format for the actors. That way I can make changes without having to deal with saving, exporting to pdf and distributing to each actor manually all over again.

Also, not a good move to name it "Movie Writer Pro", then proceed to compare it to a simple text editor. No professional would be using a text editor to begin with. You're competing with the likes of Final Draft, and (to a lesser degree) Celtx.

Celtx is better
°∆° Aug 28, 2013 @ 9:52am
Would be better as a Vim plugin

A princípio, a ideia do software é muito boa, aguardemos seu lançamento aqui na Steam.

Kinda cool, I'll give it a yes, but I think Celtix is way better and free.

Anything that makes stream lining scripts and let's the story flow out of you rather than worry about proper script formatting would be well welcomed.
rhumperd Jul 26, 2013 @ 9:51am
I might be interested if there were at least a price range mentioned. Formatting with scripts is a pain.
Avenger907.NL Jul 25, 2013 @ 8:35am
Because it is sofware and Steam offers also software via it's engine (as a response to Aaron's remark). It's not all about gaming and yes I like the idea of this program. But I wonder what this offers compared to a standar tipewriter office application?
Aaron. Jul 23, 2013 @ 8:50am
This is not gaming related so why should it be here?

So, Microsoft Word?
Chrons Jul 3, 2013 @ 6:27pm
This looked intersting to me at first, until I started reading comments claiming Celtx is on par or better. I'd need to know more about this products future in terms of features to come.
jmtheconquerer May 10, 2013 @ 8:29pm
I would buy this.
Dont know what the standard is thats used by the big motion picture studios but this would be an excellent tool for writing your own game and movie scripts. Voted up.
ShadowPhoen1x Apr 11, 2013 @ 5:20am
If some Joe Schmo walked into a film studio with a script written in Celtx, basically any production house who shoots on +million dollar budgets, you'd be laughed out of the building. That's the god honest truth.
Gleb Mar 27, 2013 @ 6:40am
Надежда на бесплатную версию.
Guybrush20X6 Mar 25, 2013 @ 4:31pm
How much would this cost?
Hastings Mar 2, 2013 @ 9:31pm
For most writing, I just use Scrivener. Yes, I paid some money but It is multipurpose and multifunctional.
w0049749 Feb 20, 2013 @ 4:17am
I agree with what has been said in previous comments. What does this program do that I can't get from free software, like Celtx, that would make me want to spend money? Convince me why I need MWP. I'd love to support this, but I can't just pay for something that is available for free (and better) from somewhere else.
Masyaff Feb 7, 2013 @ 5:20pm
This is the one the Nostalgia Critic uses! =D
Axelhander Jan 31, 2013 @ 1:41pm
An issue: there's already Fountain, which is a plain text markup language for screenwriting, not to mention free utilities to turn Fountain markup into Final Draft scripts for PDF.

Not to say that your software couldn't also help, but I think it needs to embrace Fountain.

Celtx seems vastly superior in every single feature. And it's free as in beer and free as in bird
Superuser Dec 28, 2012 @ 1:14pm
Celtx is far superior. And it's more cross-platform and free as in price.
573v3o♠[CDN] Dec 8, 2012 @ 4:43pm
Its actually a reasonable price but there are to many free screenwriting solutions out now. I have been using Celtx. It also has multiple modes for film, tv, game, comic, plays etc, and does all of what this software does and more...
mysaga Dec 4, 2012 @ 12:28pm
For this purpose (and yes, I mean screenwriting) I like to use Writers Cafe + Stroystream. I don't see a reason to change that, as the tool really looks "boring" compared to what I use.
Kai Nov 30, 2012 @ 9:51am
Yes, I see this working well for writers and those studing drama. I think at a resonable price it would be well worth a look for many writers
Zable Nov 28, 2012 @ 4:55am
i think most of the comments dont realise the point of the program. this isnt meant to replace microsoft word, but this is a tool for professional writers who want to STREAMLINE their workflow. And for that purpose, i think it deserves a yes.
Xuiken Nov 20, 2012 @ 12:44pm
Better then After Effects 3DM,C4D Editor for movie theare is no....
Scotland Tom Nov 18, 2012 @ 8:51pm
My wife and I both work in the film industry and one of my best friends is a writer. Software like this is practically essential when working professionally. Yeah you can learn screenwriting with free software and formatting guides, but having software to take care of the formatting for you (as well as keep track of characters, locations, scene numbers and assist with script break-downs) saves valuable time. Software like this benefits more than just the writer, but also producers, production management, art department, directors and more. Thumbs up to this.
vampirezio Nov 12, 2012 @ 8:03pm can just use note pad or open about an old fashioned type writer..tap tap tap tap tap PING. Also hire a UX / IX designer this looks boring.

No. If you have to resort to software like this, you shouldn't be writing stories.
