Excellent chamber(s) and design! No flaws for breaking the map with the white gel!

High praise for this one. Definitely the best white gel map I've played. Some cunning thought went into it. Thank you for an entertaining creation. Hope to see ya round the workshop.

Third chamber was definitely the hardest, spent an hour figuring that one out. Did manage to get some paint on the wall of the enterance to it, but not in an angle where I could white out the place.

Really enjoyed the infinite aspect in the last room. Very clever.

Thanks for playing ^^

The best conversion gell test I've ever played. Very chalenging and absolutely 0% chance of white out. Enjoyed very much:)

i like gel maps very much and i just love white gel tests. the last chamber was great! the third was difficult, but there was the "aha!"-moment. NICE!

You're doing it wrong X) It will not work with a gel flow, this glitch only exist because of the strange gel bombs physics ;) And this map is not about glitches, only regular gel physics :p
Reiman Mar 3, 2013 @ 10:37am
*sigh* did you do anything about the gel flow? If not, I'm too dumb for this map.
I can't get the gel to use the faith plate and paint the target in room#2. Is it the intended way anyway? If so, it's strange that it doesn't work, no matter how often I slow down the gel and hit the plate. I know, it works with a gel bomb, but never saw it working with flowing gel.

Very cool map. It took every trick I knew and then some.

I spent the majority of my time trying to gel the last angle panel in room 3. While I was throwing gel all over the place I found two different ways up to the light bridge. The only quick-load was when my curiousity got me stuck in the gel room.

Try my other gel-focused map: The Cage. There's a trick there that I have yet to see anywhere else.

Thanks all for playing ^^

@LPChip : Glad to know it could work with only one splat, so there is enough paint to place a portal but only with the correct angle. Feel free to reuse any ideas in your own maps if you liked them ;)
LPChip Feb 11, 2013 @ 11:24am
Great map Geneosis, and indeed, you can portal up from below with the first splat near the cube, but only if you are directly under it. Got me puzzled quite a bit, but this map has great ideas. I love the concept behind room 4. Awesome!

Brilliant map! I think this is one of your best maps yet (and that's saying something)
Geneosis  [author] Oct 25, 2012 @ 2:43am
@MeatBag : I also notices that, for some reason you will not be able to portal up there until you painted the ceiling with a second gel splat on the first one ^^" Absolutely no idea why...
Glad you liked it anyway ;)
MeatBag Oct 25, 2012 @ 2:35am
WOW!!! Five thumbs up. No! 10!! ))

For some strange reason I had a problem with placing portal on the ceil near cube in the last room (there was HUGE gel spot). Only after I portal to the island under it I was able to place portal. Maybe it was game glitch :\
Geneosis  [author] Oct 15, 2012 @ 2:36pm
... Will think about a solution for that if I update the map to fix a bigger exploit ;)
[P2M]Hoorne99 Oct 15, 2012 @ 2:34pm
just remove the fence in the gel room so you fall in the goo : D
PrObLM SoLvEd ;p
Geneosis  [author] Oct 15, 2012 @ 2:21pm
Well you will trap yoursalf as soon as you try to enter the gel room... It's supposed to be obvious that you don't have to enter this room ^^
[P2M]Hoorne99 Oct 15, 2012 @ 12:42pm
Yeah but it is still very easy to trap your self.
putt down some lights or glass on the walls to fix it.
floor change to goo?
Geneosis  [author] Oct 15, 2012 @ 9:48am
Ok so my protection worked perfectly ^^
[P2M]Hoorne99 Oct 15, 2012 @ 8:44am
no just stuck because the glass.
Geneosis  [author] Oct 14, 2012 @ 1:53pm
@Geralf's Messenger : Thanks for the hints ^^

@[P2M]Hoorne99 : I worked hard to avoid that you can cheat if you find a way to enter this room... Were you able to do anything else than painting around and be stuck? :p
Tony Kanoli Oct 14, 2012 @ 12:17pm
Hints:

Room #2

Just be patient. The solution doesn't involve any ninja jumping or fast portal switching. Just slow down and observe things carefully. Observe the behavior GEL carefully.
Tony Kanoli Oct 14, 2012 @ 12:15pm
Hints:

Room #3
1 The faith plate serves no purpose other than just increasing your field of vision
2 The angle in which you place your portal decides the trajectory of how the gel comes out of it
If you are desperate, The solution starts with one portal on the white angeled panel and THEN place the other portal under the white gel

Room #4
1 You don't need to cover any of the walls with gel
2 Your first priority should be getting the cube
If you are desperate, You need a way for the speed of the gel to become exponentially faster so it can reach areas it wouldn't normally reach. Start looking at two portal surfaces that face each other
Tony Kanoli Oct 14, 2012 @ 12:08pm
Great job Geneosis.
Piranha.A Oct 14, 2012 @ 8:49am
Thanks for that hint, yet it doesn't really make things easier ... ;-)
Geneosis  [author] Oct 14, 2012 @ 8:41am
Hint : The last jump to the exit is not a jump ^^
Piranha.A Oct 14, 2012 @ 8:14am
That's an awesome map that indeed serves wonderfully as a tutorial. While the first room was quite straightforward the following rooms continued to surprise. I think my favourite room was the second one because IMO that one is more about gel physics whereas the other rooms deal mainly with correct portal placement. Excellent job!
PS: I haven't yet figured out how to achieve the last jump to the exit ... will return some other time and give it more thought.
