Excellent puzzle. Had me stumped for a good while.
Chelliste Oct 7, 2014 @ 8:06am
I spent the longest time thinking about how to get the cube off the button and into the funnel. The answer is simple and one that is often overlooked by players and deviously used by map authors. Duh. Out !@#$% standing map.
TS_Mind_Swept Aug 18, 2014 @ 8:32pm
Ok, well I couldn't figure out how to get the cube the first time, but thanks to the begining of KennKong's walkthrough, i was able to get it. I probably would have never thought to put the lightbridge back to stop the cube for running into the emansapation grill once it's through the hole it's so simple that you don't even think about it! >.< 2nd part was easy, but just getting that cube the first time was like @.@
Oh, and by the way, nice job with that big area on the side that had no use, it stole probably about 5 minutes or more with me trying to figure out why it was there instead of solving the puzzle. 7.5/10

I like the way elements of the puzzle seem to cross over to both sides of the test. .

Man. That was a hard puzzle. Excellent work.
Loveless Aug 12, 2013 @ 6:36am
Very nice. I kinda dislike cube destroying maps, but the first half of the puzzle, trying to get the cube, was awesome.

I played the Mevious edit of this - great level! I love how the room is so simply laid out and yet quite difficult to solve, the mark of an excellent puzzle!
dneufeldt Jan 12, 2013 @ 10:02am
This is possibbly one of the most difficult, genious designs I have come across yet. Wow, I had the box on the button, walked on the light bridge to the tractor beam again, and then my brain overloaded and I got stuck... then figued out you just do the same thing twice.

Thanks very much!!!
Azorae  [author] Dec 28, 2012 @ 6:51am
I actually used four different "pieces" of glass to make the large glass wall. One 2x5 piece makes up the bottom, two 1x2 pieces are on either side of the hole, and a 1x5 piece stretches over the top. The editor will combine all panes of glass that are touching into a single surface.
tuyuqas Dec 28, 2012 @ 1:17am
Hey, Azorae, can I ask a question? Could you PLS tell me how did you make that huge square hole in glass. I noticed that this is unavailable in regular in-game editor. But I need that soo badly for my latest test chamber! I beg you for help!!!
Wonder Girl Dec 24, 2012 @ 1:11pm
Excellent map!

Great map. Make things like this more
Pomko Dec 5, 2012 @ 2:54pm
Simply fantastic.

This is the kind of puzzle I love: hard to find the solution, easy once you do. Brilliant!

Kony himself showed me this genius creation. Me at first. [ct.fra.bz] Me after I solved it. [i1.kym-cdn.com] Valve should definitely hire you if you're available.
Sriracha Dec 1, 2012 @ 2:15pm
EDIT: I SOLVED IT!!!! AZORAE YOU GENIUS FUCK YOU!!!
Sriracha Dec 1, 2012 @ 1:59pm
Update: Sorry for the excessive comments, I just want to solve this thing. Anyways, I was able to get the cube to the very top bridge that's near the exit button but I myself am not there yet. Am I on the right track?
Sriracha Dec 1, 2012 @ 1:48pm
I just realized it is impossible to solve the puzzle by using the blue beam to get across the map because the fizzler will always get in the way. My next guess now is that I have to use the bridge and now I'm trying to figure out how to get the cube and myself on the bridge going towards the exit through the high portalable wall that goes across the map. Someone please confirm that I'm on the right path. I'm gonna go crazy.
Sriracha Dec 1, 2012 @ 1:43pm
I got the cube but I can't figure out for the LIFE of me what to do next! if I put the cube in the gravity blue beam and send the cube on its way to the exit door button, I am stuck on the other side of the map and if I use any portals to get there the cube drops. If I go in the blue beam with the cube, I am unable to go across the map and even if I do the fizzler kills the portals. I am about to go insane, I've spent about 2-3 hours on this map and I simple REFUSE to look up the solution. I am about to go crazy. SDLKFJSIOJRSLEKFJSDLKFJ

I... I... I simply do not have words to say. This is... this is... unearthly.
I simply think that Oxford should add a new word into its dictionary. Azorae: 1)noun-- the Biggest, most incredible, mesmerizing, superior mathematical genius of all times and nations. 2) adjective-- reffered to the state of all elements being in perfect balance and coherence.

This test chamber was another proof of your genius, and I'm extremely happy that I could solve it all by myself. As always, brilliant, magnificent job!
Ale Nov 27, 2012 @ 6:23am
Good! Nice concept! +1
Tony Nov 25, 2012 @ 6:40pm
Worth the pain it took to work it out!

This one stumped me for a while. Thought for sure I had to cross bridges Then it hit me.
Stalker Nov 7, 2012 @ 12:50pm
Brilliant!
skraz Oct 28, 2012 @ 6:03pm
Played all three versions. This was a great original. Super job.
Innocentive Oct 28, 2012 @ 8:08am
I played Mevious' edit first and still couldn't get the solution to this one in the beginning. Only after I let two weeks pass and was able to approach this test with a clear head, I found the way to open the exit. There's definitely more entanglement here which I quite liked. I lift my hat to your genius!
Fallen One Oct 27, 2012 @ 11:58am
WOW ! Thanks.
Azorae  [author] Oct 21, 2012 @ 8:54am
Ah, that's not even supposed to be portalable, I'm not sure how I never noticed that

Thanks
schwartzeroni Oct 21, 2012 @ 8:49am
Are there supposed to be two ways to get to the beam? The portable surface near the stairs is much faster and easier than going the same way the cube goes
CoachHines Oct 18, 2012 @ 9:19pm
Very satisfying solution. Nice work.
[GWJ] Chef Kexx Oct 15, 2012 @ 10:20pm
Well done! Bravo! Jesus Christ, that was pure genius, my friend. Lovely solution, and use of the items. I had to give up, and looked it up. Getting the cube acts as a tutorial as to what to do next, at least for me, as I repeated the steps. And I had everything down, except how to safely get the cube in that narrow passage before the fizzler. Very well constructed. Thanks for this. It's a shame it doesn't have more subscriptions. Thumbed you up, obviously. Fantastic.
Wulle Oct 15, 2012 @ 8:40am
edit: found the solution....very nice work, indeed there is this one trick, which is incredibly hard to find out :)
Wulle Oct 15, 2012 @ 7:20am
i just dont get how to get to the cube....any hints? i tried really hard for over 2 hours on this map

War of Entanglement: Multimap Review Update!

• Gig (Remix)
Maximal to Mevious's minimal, Gig's take gives you several more variables to consider while still keeping you thinking several steps ahead, with little room for error. Ironically, it probably makes the least use of the 'entanglement' mechanic, but is perhaps the most puzzling of the set.

~~~ Final Victor ~~~
Mevious is succinct, Gig fires with all barrels, but in the end the one who makes the most use of the titular mechanic remains the one who discovered it first: Azorae.
... like before, though, the only losers here are the ones who miss out on any of these great maps! Subscribe and enjoy!
Mr Vapour Waterhandle Oct 12, 2012 @ 3:22pm
Seems impossible to get the cube at first, but then when I started to think about the layout and trusting that everything had a use, even with a shortcut, eventually the coin dropped, and man, what a brilliant solution it is. Hats off.
Geneosis Oct 12, 2012 @ 3:14pm
Really nice little trick you used there ^^
The hardest part was to figure out how to get the cube ;) But when you have the idea, the rest is not too hard ;)
Good work!
I just had to play it again (and again). You have created a brilliant beautiful puzzle. Thank you.
Thank you! That was a great mind tease.
War of Entanglement: Multimap Review
• Azorae (Orignial)
Makes exceptionally good use of this clever mechanic, is both fun to discover and use; hats off to you for discovering it.
• Mevious (Remix)
Methodical as usual, this variant focuses on the mechanic as a core-solution, rather than a tool to use; in classic Mevious-style, one misplaced portal undoes a lot of work, but you feel outsmarted rather than cheated.
Victor (so far): Azorae
Mevious's redux is great, to be sure, but the extended use of the mechanic as a tool clinched it in Azorae's favor. Don't fret though, there are no losers; play them both right this minute!
The war rages on! Stay tuned for an update featuring Gig's take on the classic, and see if Azorae can hold onto his title!
Le Petit Mort Oct 11, 2012 @ 12:28pm
Pros:
• Very clever use of very clever mechanic;
Cons:
• Aesthetic can best be described as functional;
Thoughts:
Clever
Yes, it's redundant, but it's true. It's neat to discover it, and it's neat to use it; it's just flat-out fun.
Azorae  [author] Oct 10, 2012 @ 5:34pm
Yes, sacrificing the cube is the intended final step. I prefer to avoid having to do that unless absolutely necessesary, but I needed to do it here.
wildgoosespeeder Oct 10, 2012 @ 5:23pm
I was stumped for the longest time at the part of using the funnel to get the cube in the right spot before switching to the light bridge (had to look at your YouTube solution video). I'll have to remember that technique for future puzzles aI play. After how surprisingly easier that part was than I was making it out to be, it was smooth sailing until the last part where you sacrifice the cube . Is that last part intended?
Great puzzle! I understand why Mevious likes this puzzle. XD
