Its intriguing to have every action planned at the beginning of a turn without knowing the full consequence of each.

Well, at least I have something to look forward to in 2040 other than actual Robocop. I'll be interested to see what comes out of your mobile efforts - I don't know if I'm on your press mailing list, but if not, we'll need to remedy that. Am I wrong to hope for mobile grid-based strategy? That's a sadly untapped genre on Android/iOS

It needs multiplayer or coop

Nice to hear from you, Nate! Unfortunately, I've calculated that at the current rate, Miasma 2 will be accepted onto Steam Greenlight some time in the 2040s. :) In the meantime ESP Games are working on some mobile projects - maybe you'll review those in the not-so-distant future??

I remember reviewing Miasma & Miasma 2 years ago when they first released on the XBLIG - two of my favorite love/hate games. They boasted enjoyable gameplay and music...unfortunately bogged down by a less-than attractive UI, mediocre writing and a handful of silly quirks (it took me half-way through my first playthrough to figure out how to upgrade the main character). The series has plenty of potential though and I still recommend supporting it. If it were released on Steam, I would definitely buy it again.

Good spin on the tactics genre. Not enough games like this out there.

you need to make another trailer that shows scavaging. if your caractor is only using the small gun all through the game forget this junk. you need to show that we can get guns/ ammo, armor, money, and important imformation off the many victems you kill. the important imformation could be a cell phone or notes given to guards that could help you along the way in the game. invest in some voice over actors for the conversations between the man and other non player caractors. make the objects you hide behind larger and movable.

Well Daddis, I will say that you certainly put more effort into your responses than most AAA developers these days, and that will put you in a better light, regardless of the current quality. For your information, I actually did greenlight this game when it first came up for review; it's only due to the recent shenanigans on Kickstarter over attempted cash grabs, and the War Z/Legend of Pegasus fiasco, that I have taken this hardline position.

I really don't want to see the gaming industry ultimately destroyed in the same manner that Hollywood and "reality" television have, and in order to prevent this, indie developers like you are necessary- but also legitimate ones that aren't trying to push out mediocre work and hope that we'll bite.

Not saying that what you have now is the level of failure that War Z and LoP were (in fact, it looks pretty playable) but everyone should be held up to a high level of quality.

I hear you: we all want a library of top-quality games available to us on Steam, and we want the developers to put in their best efforts.

But you're not paying up-front for this product, merely to greenlight it for development on Steam. If, however, it was a project for Kickstarter, I'd be asking for your $10 or $15 before even having an alpha version of the game, and there would be no guarantee it had the features you wanted (or was any fun at all). On Greenlight, reviews will be available before you part with your cash, so I think this is a much lower-risk investment for gamers.

I'm sorry if you feel hard done-by in this process. If it's any consolation it's pretty tough being an indie developer, too, with an idea burning away but so few resources. I would suggest you try to see the potential in any game presentation and back the ones you believe in, and help spread the word to other fans. Most developers, like me, love talking about our game and the features people want.

Spekter has a good point; this community has already had to deal with several companies pushing out half-finished or alpha-stage video games all in the name of "if we get more money we'll fix them." This has left a very bad taste in our mouths.
Rats Mar 18, 2013 @ 8:16am
hmm... good, but weak in the rpg
Spëkter Mar 15, 2013 @ 8:24am
It is encourageing to see that you are listening to your feedback. thumbs up to you for that.

The Steam community however ony pays for games that are working and 100% complete. If you are looking for development capital, there are several ways including kickstart to get that. If you have a solid product then people will invest in you. I am not trying to put you down you have something with a lot of promise it just needs the missing 40% good luck to you
