[Alco S-2] Springfield Freight: The Yard (WS)

This scenario begins where the story in the two-part Springfield Freight scenario ended. This part, however, puts you in charge of the yard switcher's crew that has been tasked to break up the long freight train that you brought to Springfield in the previous two parts. You'll even meet the two GP9s that have just split off from that train while you're waiting at the roundhouse for the tracks to clear.

An hour of very challenging switching awaits you as you break up the train and deliver the cars to their destinations all over Springfield Yard, the Freight House and the B&M Interchange. There is little hand holding here, though the conductor will occasionally offer a friendly hint. However, the task list (press the F1 key) should suffice on its own. Take your time, look around on the map. Plan your moves, there is more than one possible way to finish this scenario. And mind the brakes, especially at the beginning your train is very heavy, almost too heavy for your single S-2.
