Sorted Potions

描述
Update: If you have the Dragonborn DLC, click over to my workshop for a version of this mod that supports the potions introduced in Dragonborn.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changelog:
R2: Fixed a bug where the creation kit erroneously changed the value of every potion the mod edits. Additionally, uploaded a version of the mod that does not alter the weight of potions. It can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=107535247
R1: Original Release

Description:
Let's face it: Skyrim's default naming conventions for potions are awful, since the game sorts them in your inventory by name. So I decided to do away with the elixir-this, and the philter-that, and implement a more logical naming convention. I painstakingly went through the list and edited the names based on effect and strength. Now, potions and poisons are sorted by what they do, and then how strong their effect is.

The new naming convention is as follows:

[Potion/Poison] of x y: z

Where
x is the name of the effect (example: Healing)
y is a number that keeps the potions in order of strength, from weakest to strongest (example: 1 = minor, 6 = ultimate)
Z is a word that preserves a little bit of old-item name flavor

So for example, a "Potion of Minor Healing" is now a "Potion of Healing 1: Minor". A "Weak Poison" is now a "Poison of Damage Health 1: Weak". Item names are, in many cases, much longer now, but all of your poisons that do direct damage will now be grouped together, all of your healing potions, all of your fortification potions, etc. I wanted to do away with starting every name with [Potion/Poison of], and instead use something along the lines of 'x Potion y: z', but then potions created by alchemy would not be grouped with potions you find. At this initial stage, I'm not going to try to rename potions created by Alchemy, and so instead I created a naming convention that would conform to the one used by Alchemy. Therefore, any potions you create should be grouped with potions you find, with your crafted potions at the top of the group. Please let me know in the comments if you find any instances of crafted potions that don't group well with standard potions due to naming discrepancies.

I did not rename any of the potions that had 'special' names (ex: Ice Wraith Essence, Frostbite Venom)

In this version of the mod, every potion and poison's weight is reduced to .1, in addition to them being sorted. If you want a version of the mod that does not change the weights, or you want a version that is compatible with JustinOther's Lightweight Potions and Poisons, head over to http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=107535247
Using Sorted Potions Vanilla Weights in combination with Lightweight Potions and Poisons provides superior functionality. This version of Sorted Potions is only better in that it uses one file instead of three, so it clutters up your load order less.

Conflicts:
This mod edits the record for every potion in the game, so if you have a mod that buffs poison damage or something, it will conflict, except as outlined above.

Conclusion:
So there you have it. Now, since your potions are logically grouped by type and strength, you should be able to find what you're looking for more easily, as well as have an easier time keeping track of what you have and what you're running low on. Hopefully you will find this mod as useful as I do.

Permissions:
DO NOT upload this mod to the Nexus family of websites under any circumstances!
Other than that, I don't really care what you do with it, as long as I am properly credited.

Lol i'm not argueing points I was just wondering. Fare enough for putting it on there, I did see it on there as well.

@armymen115 Because the Nexus is a circus of draconic zero-tolerance policy and moderator abuse. You're completely at the mercy of whatever moderator happens to be in a bad mood/on a power trip on any given day. In addition to what happened to me, I've heard many anecdotes over the years that paint a bleak picture of just how easy it is to get permanently banned from that site. So, no, I won't have my work associated with them in any way.

If someone wants to use this mod but doesn't want to use the Steam Workshop, they can find it on "The Place That Shall Not Be Named" .

Just wondering why you hate the nexus and don't want it uploaded to there? (not that id do it.) I know of alot of people that only use the nexus and never use steam. Seems your limiting how many people find your mod on purpose.

@Trogdor: me created private ordered collection of all mods I play and unsubscribed them all to minimize start-up time when online and to avoid incompatible mod updates.
Thank you for your responsible messages.

Apologies. In an attempt to create another version of this mod for Dragonborn, Steam decided to overwrite this one with the one that required Dragonborn. I was editing my only copy of the file, and so I had to go back and un-edit the file, then remove the dependency and re-upload it.
Hopefully everything is working correctly again. If you just happened to start Skyrim on Feb. 7 around 7:30pm CST and downloaded the erroneous file, restart Skyrim and hopefully you will download the corrected version and all will be right in the world again.

@bitl Nope. Try disabling your mods one by one until you find the culprit.

Could this mod make all paper notes to be in English?
I'm just trying to figure out which mod turned my localized paper notes into English (including recipes).
