The Taser

Long ago, in the days of old, there existed a police force. This force was so great, crime rates in Skyrim were stomped out completely. However, one officer dabbled in dark magic, creating a mythical weapon: the taser. A struggle arose for control of this fabled tool, and the leaders of the police split into different factions, leading to the current struggle between Hold Guards. The policemen have long since been forgotten, except one: Officer Marty, the original creator of the taser, fled his hold of Whiterun to take refuge in Reachwind Eyrie. Since then, all of his challengers have been defeated by the sheer power of the taser.

Although most of the tales surrounding the taser have been forgotten, few still remain. It is told that the weapon, although not physically powerful, had the ability to paralyze those it touched. In addition, it clouded the minds of those who witnessed its power, enabling the wielder to paralyze others without fear of retribution.
