Cry of Fear with Hamachi
Av hold your colour
Welcome to my guide. This is a simple tutorial on how you can create a co-op campaign with a simple VPN (Virtual Private Network) program (e.g. Hamachi, Tungle etc.) The whole walkthrough will be in steps so it's easier for everyone.

Step 1: Install Hamachi https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/download.aspx]
Step 2: Create a network and tell your friend(s) to join (if you got more than 4 friends you can create multiple networks)
Step 3: Start a co-op campaign and untick the box with the indication LAN.
Step 4: When you get in the lobby make sure you open the console (~) and type sv_lan 0
Now your server is ready for everyone to join but joining your server does not always require you to click Join Game through Steam
Step 1: Go to Hamachi and find the host's hamachi IP (example: 25.169.155.253)
Step 2: Now go to Cry of Fear and open the console
Step 3: Insert this command: connect (host's hamachi IP goes here it would be 25.169.155.253 for the example above)
Step 4: Enjoy the game!
If the game crashes when you change worlds, you should know that it is not a connection problem but a problem of CoF/Steam

26/4 [EDIT] There are some errors of which the most common is Failed to contact game server which in my opinion have to do with the antivirus/firewall. Many users face it as of now and the cause is unknown at the moment.
29/4 [EDIT] Don't bother complaining about game bugs to me or others as only the developers can fix them at the moment.
29/4 [EDIT] I am no play machine. Please do not add me just because you have nobody to play with. I made the guide to help others. Does not mean I want to play CoF 24/7 Thanks :)
26/5 [EDIT] Minor fix

You need to configure your firewall correctly. Look up a guide specifically for that. Look up something like hosting server firewall settings steam game

The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.
