Official Verdun Squad Guide

This Guide provides an overview of the squads and the roles available for each squad. In Verdun you always play as part of a 4-man squad which has a distinct gameplay style based on an historical unit.

Each squad has its own appearance, 2 shared abilities and 4 roles. When the squad levels up, all the roles inside the squad are also levelled up. Levelling up a squad means that uniforms are upgraded, abilities become stronger and weapons handling may improve.
Currently we have 15 squads in Verdun, with 10 Entente and 5 Central Powers squads.

Squads of the Entente: Canadians, Chasseur Alpins, Poilus, Belgians, U.S. Marines, U.S. Doughboys, Tommies, Highlanders, ANZACs and Tirailleurs Senegalais.
Squads of the Central Powers: Alpenjäger, Landser, Pionere, Schützen and Stoßtrupp.

Alpenjäger Uniform ProgressAlpenjäger IconThe Alpenkorps were the elite of the German Army. As a lightweight unit, the Alpenjäger advance to close proximity with the enemy using the "Scharfschütze" as cover and the recon plane as guidance. The "Aufklärer" scout will then take care of nearby enemies as the "Überwacher" observes their positions.

Canadians Uniform ProgressCanadians IconConsidered by the German army to be the most dangerous enemy force on the Western Front, the Canadian assault unit is lightly equipped with grenades and rifles. They can call in gas artillery to cover their advance.

Tirailleurs Sénégalais
Sent to the front in France from the first weeks of the war, the Tirailleurs Sénégalais saw a great deal of combat. This was largely because French army commanders viewed West Africans as an elite fighting force among the 500,000 colonial subjects who fought for France during the war, and so deployed the Tirailleurs Sénégalais most often as ‘shock troops’. During the war, 134,000 Tirailleurs Sénégalais served on the Western Front.

@Sienna_smyr: Are you not able to unlock the achievements for any of the squads on Steam? (Yes, it is only about unlocking all of the loadouts/specializations in all of the squad's roles)

On Xbox/Playstation however, there isn't an achievement for the ANZACs and Senegalese AFAIK (Not 100% sure about the next-gen versions tho)

Hi, can someone tell me how to get the "Unlock Troop Specializations" achievements? I've been in Tannenberg for quite a few hours and there it was just spending your points and unlocking the specializations of the soldiers in the platoon. But in Verdun I do the same thing and it doesn't give me the achievement. I am a steam and xbox player but Verdun bought it on xbox, do you think there is a bug? 🤕 Or am I missing something?

The Tommies are missing level 100 in their Abilities & Progression section. Do I assume correctly that their NCO would also be eligible for the Creeping Barrage at this level?
