Dungeon Life

Descrição
Add some life to your Dungeon! Libraries, crafthalls, student unions, vending, latrines!

Ever wondered what Monsters were doing when they weren't stumbling blindly around deathtrapped hallways, waiting for you to show up? Find out with the Dungeon Life mod: this mod adds ten rooms to levels 1 through 10 of the Dungeon of Dredmor; four different latrines, an office for keeping books, a Shrine of the Three Divines, a library, a crafting hall, and a massive monster union consisting of a dining hall with attached vending area and bar, and a kitchen to service them.

If you do NOT like rooms overflowing with stuff to loot and monsters to kill for them, do NOT download this mod, and please do NOT feel the need to comment on it with your disapproval. I have given precisely zero consideration to game balance when determining how many items to place in this mod, with 100% of the concern being how likely one would be to find something in a given place, so you likely will wind up with your extradimensional hideaway overflowing with crafting goods if you download this mod. I will say that I have tested every room in this mod with a level 1 character with all three Badass skills, Perception, Golemancy, Dual-Wielding, and Burglary, on Dwarven Moderation difficulty, so they should be survivable. Good luck, and have fun kicking back atop the pile of steaming corpses you're going to make!

Please report any spelling errors or bugs (or suspected bugs) that you find. I'm pretty good about spelling and I checked it over twice, but something might have slipped through.

This mod will probably be best enjoyed in conjunction with the Badass mod ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=125505940 ), but Badass should not be nessessary. However, all Dungeons of Dredmor expansion packs WILL BE NECESSARY, or your game is going to crash when you try to run it.

Version History
1.0.0: Initial Release.
1.1.0: Bugfixes 1. Evidently "scrawl.png" was renamed to "scrawl0.png" in the files between my first use and now; this has been fixed. Also, for some reason I had inverted the proper direction of all the doors, this has also been fixed. My rooms will now also appear down to level 15, not simply to level 10.

Couldn't figure it out so I made an image in the dungeon directory named "door_interior.png" and just filled it with the Source missing texture image since I don't know what "door_interior" looked like. Doing this allowed the game to load and it's working fine now.

Do you know how to unpack the mod files or where they're even stored? Maybe I could fix it myself.

I'm sorry, it's been half a decade since I touched Dungeons of Dredmor. I don't even have it installed, and I'm pretty sure I lost all my mod files in a computer migration. I'd be pretty much useless at trying to diagnose this, since it did in fact work last time. I can only presume that I aimed something-or-other at a vanilla file that has since changed name.

With the mod I get the error that it's missing file "dungeon/door_interior.png" is missing, and then it crashes the game. Any help so I can be able to use this mod? I have all the content expansion DLC's too if that means anything.

@Raden: Exactly. It makes no sense whatsoever.
I say "Do not ask me for X, I will not do X," and of course, people immediately ask for X.

What kind of God damned moron reads a description that says "I will not make a balanced version of this mod" and then asks for a balanced version of the mod? You're the kind of person every retail worker despises, the entitled "It's all about me so pander to me" type. I'd really like to try to see things from your perspective, but I don't think I can fit my head that far up my own ass.

Shadowdragon, the mod is fine as it is, it adds ambience and variety to the game and 1) People do not HAVE to use the mod, and 2) If they do they do not HAVE to pick all the stuff up in these rooms.

@Everglade: You're quite welcome.

I note with some satisfaction that this mod, while hardly the most popular Dungeons of Dredmor mod, is still ranking on the second page of the most popular mods. It has hardly "been forgotten" as Mazaryn (who was posting under the name Joneithevius in February 2014,) predicted.

Apparently, quite a few people (2,818 of them, in fact,) consider Dungeon Life to be well worth the subscription, and don't give a damn that I get quite short when people make high-nosed demands that I make a "balanced" version of it that suits their definitions of game balance.

@John Deere: It's been a long, long time since I've played Dungeons of Dredmor, but it wasn't too hard, from what I recall. One of the big monster unions could be dangerous if you got one on level 1, but they could be survived if you were tough, clever, and good.

This mod makes the dungeon feel more alive and look more like a place to house an army of monsters now. Thanks for making it.

Is this a very "hard" mod?
