However with that done, it still isn't great since it doesn't line up with the sight at all (where as other weapons like the pistol do line up fine).. And since it hides the crosshair unlike the devastator, it makes it hard to aim.
Is that any easy fix for that I do myself in the editor? A way to edit it to force the cross to still show in aim down sight mode?
But yea thanks for the tips how to mod it myself, was considering it but would of probably taken me many more hours without your info exactly how to do it.
If you want to manually remove reloading, you can download "Serious Sam 3 Editor" from Steam's tools section. Then, from the top bar, go to File > Open > Document..., and navigate to "Content/SeriousSam3/Databases/Weapons/SingleShotgunWeapon.ep". Find the "Shoots to reload" parameter and set it to 0. File > Save, and there you have it. You can also tweak all other parameters you are unhappy with.
I'd pay you to fix it so it works like that. It's my only gripe with this mod, and its a big one since Sam 3 highly relies on the regular shotgun.
It takes insanely long to reload, which makes it way weaker than the regular sam 3 shotung.. And Since this is meant to be a homage to duke nukem 3d/duke forever, doesn't make sense, since the shotgun is INSANELY more powerful in duke 3d - with no reload, and quite a lot stronger in duke forever.
The Ripper and RPG certainly perform a lot better than sams counter parts, without being unbalanced. So great job on those.
I checked it versus the duke nukem forever, it reloads even slower than that one. Also makes no sense you can reload after just using 1 shell to get ready, but he still puts 5 back in..
I get this is an old mod and not getting a fix.. But I'd put in the time to fix it myself. Can anyone show me a guide that shows how to mod other mods? Or a easy way to swap it out for a different shotgun? I tried downloading other ones here on the workshop, they don't replace this one for whatever reason so I guess i'd have to mod this mods files.
Btw, I found some nice normal maps in the original DNF files that weren't used in this mod, so I could improve the shaders a bit. Also going to make proper VR versions.
