Btw the only other minor blemish is the aim down sites with the Assault Rifle (Ripper). By default it looks awful since the games Dept of Field sucks and blurs it out. Easily fixed with the console command: efx_bDepthofField=0
However with that done, it still isn't great since it doesn't line up with the sight at all (where as other weapons like the pistol do line up fine).. And since it hides the crosshair unlike the devastator, it makes it hard to aim.
Is that any easy fix for that I do myself in the editor? A way to edit it to force the cross to still show in aim down sight mode?

mm imo the shotgun is the only weapon that does have somewhat "dynamic" reloading.. EG: It reloads 1 shell at a time, while all the other weapons reload in 1 go. I guess its not fully dynamic in the sense that if you interrupt said animation, you don't get a partial reload, the game pretends nothing happened at all and you wasted all that time.

But yea thanks for the tips how to mod it myself, was considering it but would of probably taken me many more hours without your info exactly how to do it.

Hey - sadly in SED, it is not possible to do dynamic reloading, you can only have one animation that reloads all. I don't have much time these days to go back and improve old (janky) mods, so for the time being it will have to stay like this.

If you want to manually remove reloading, you can download "Serious Sam 3 Editor" from Steam's tools section. Then, from the top bar, go to File > Open > Document..., and navigate to "Content/SeriousSam3/Databases/Weapons/SingleShotgunWeapon.ep". Find the "Shoots to reload" parameter and set it to 0. File > Save, and there you have it. You can also tweak all other parameters you are unhappy with.

I see in the video you just reload the shotgun in 1 pop.. Its not like that in the actual mod.

I'd pay you to fix it so it works like that. It's my only gripe with this mod, and its a big one since Sam 3 highly relies on the regular shotgun.

It takes insanely long to reload, which makes it way weaker than the regular sam 3 shotung.. And Since this is meant to be a homage to duke nukem 3d/duke forever, doesn't make sense, since the shotgun is INSANELY more powerful in duke 3d - with no reload, and quite a lot stronger in duke forever.

(2/2) .. It also deals laughable damage in some cases.. In duke 3D and forever, it only takes a couple shots on the lower difficulties to take down an octabrain.. I tested it here, it took 9+ shots at long range.. I get the harpies they replace are tougher, but even sams regular shotgun is much more effective. Duke is supposed to be more badass, not less.

The Ripper and RPG certainly perform a lot better than sams counter parts, without being unbalanced. So great job on those.

Super epic. Most weapons are great but the regular shotgun is such trash.. I mean the model work and FOV is all good.. Just the performance of it. It takes an insane amount of time to reload, which is really not Duke's style at all. (Real duke nukem from duke 3d does not reload at all)
I checked it versus the duke nukem forever, it reloads even slower than that one. Also makes no sense you can reload after just using 1 shell to get ready, but he still puts 5 back in..

I get this is an old mod and not getting a fix.. But I'd put in the time to fix it myself. Can anyone show me a guide that shows how to mod other mods? Or a easy way to swap it out for a different shotgun? I tried downloading other ones here on the workshop, they don't replace this one for whatever reason so I guess i'd have to mod this mods files.

Ok awesome! already working on a Ressource pack for Fusion. I love this weapon mod!
Btw, I found some nice normal maps in the original DNF files that weren't used in this mod, so I could improve the shaders a bit. Also going to make proper VR versions.

I probably won't be porting them, at least not "as is", since they're pretty outdated and can be done a lot better. Perhaps one day when I resume working on the UWP I could redo them, but I wouldn't count on it happening soon. If you'd like to though, I have no problem with you porting them over.
