Light The Way

Descrizione
To rise out of the depths, you'll need to use light for more than just seeing. With a light bridge and more lasers than you can shake a cube at, light is for doing in this very well lit test chaimber. Rise to the occasion and light the way to the exit.

I have to agree with toncica, that the map is a little crowded, but the solution is so awesome that it makes up for that. THIS map is the reason why I love exploring randomly selected maps in the workshop!

I will try more of your workshop, and I really recommend you try some of my stuff as well. I am using a couple techniques that I found myself and never seen anywhere else up to today!
Start with this one for example!

You're welcome. If you like to play one of my maps I would chose this one . I made a number of changes (for the better I hope) because I got decent feedback. It would be nice to hear an opinion from somebody who hasn't seen the map before though.

That's brilliant. It's close to my intended solution, but you managed to pull it off without using the pop up wall by squeesing the cube between the receptor and the wall . To be honest, I only had the popout wall in there because I couldn't manage to line it up the way you did. So I'm happy with that solution. And yes, I did want all 7 cubes to be involved, I just worried there might be a 6 cube solution that I didn't forsee. Thanks for the help, it's very much apriciated.

I would say it's very unlikely that you can stack more than three cubes AND climb them, so that modification took care of that. As it is now I fail to see any unintended ways to reach the exit. In the end I used all seven cubes, not sure if that is how you wanted it. In my opinion you could have made this kind of puzzle simpler. It feels a bit convoluted. The player may get frustrated before he sees the solution because he has to deal with with this high number of details.

Ok, I've republished with a lowered portalable surface. I'm sorry I missed your youtube video, I canb't believe you found that back in October and I never knew untill today. I'm subscribed now though. Let me know if it's still skippable with the fix, or if there are any more breaks. I've been hopping there is a solution that uses less than the full 7 cubes, but I havn't found it myself.

Aha! thank you so much. I knew there would be something like that once I had some proper testers. Do you know offhand what the max stacks of cubes are to climb like that? I can lower the portalable surface area down to just the ground level and still run the intended solution, but there end up being 7 cubes on the map before the intended solution is done. It's ugly to use fizzlers to stop that trick, but I'll do it if need be. And again thank you, it's testers like this I really need to find those tricks. Let me know if you have a map you'd like me to try.

It doesn't look like you've addressed the "skip everything" issue, not sure if you have even watched the video. I made it when you posted it the first time in the discussion section.

I hate to spoil the solution, but I guess I can give some hints.

Hint 1: Gel dropped on a light bridge will stick and cause you to bounce if you fall into it, just like normal ground.

Hint 2: If you fall into gel that is on an angled surface, it will throw you in a new direction based on both your origional direction of movement and the angle/orientation of the incline.

Hint 3: There are more redirection cubes in the two small rooms that you will need for the final solution to the exit.

Thanks for your interest. I'd just about given up that anyone was even trying it. I'm no expert speed runner, so it typicaly takes me about 5 minutes to setup the final solution. Let others know about it, maybe you can puzzle it out together. I'm interested to know if anyone finds a solution that uses less than the full set of redirection cubes.

Hello,

I would really like to review your chamber but sadly I'm stuck. I really have no idea what to do. I have a feeling I need to utilize the lightbridges and gel together, but how and why I'm not sure. Perhaps you can point me i the right direction.
