The Fang of Haynekhtnamet

Leírás
"Black Marsh was once known to be inhabited with what the Argonians called the Wamasus. Northern men considered them to be intelligent dragons with lightning for blood. One such mighty beast, Haynekhtnamet, was slain by the Northern men, though it took 7 days and nights, and a score of men. One of the surviving men took a fang home as a trophy. The fang was carved down into a blade and fashioned into a small dagger. The Dagger mysteriously houses some of the beast's magical properties and grants the user the ability to do shock damage on an opponent. This unique Dagger is seen occasionally by traveling heroes." — Yagrum Bagarn, Tamrielic Lore

The legendary artifact called the "Fang of Haynekhtnamet" hasn't been seen in Tamriel for hundreds of years, and the Wamassi have been extinct for hundreds more... but not anymore!

There are dragons dead and buried far outside the borders of Skyrim, and Alduin has taken a visit to Black Marsh to visit his lightning-blooded brethren. It seems one of them awoke with a grudge against the Nords who slew him, and now he's returned to Skyrim to join the apocalypse!

Venture to the Arcanaeum in the College of Winterhold and read the notes of Tiberius Milo, Wayrest's foremost loremaster and treasure hunter, and then slap on your lightningproof britches and challenge Haynekhtnamet to a mortal duel! Then get ready to pull some dragon-teeth, because you aren't going to simply find the Fang. It's time to make a new one.

The Fang of Haynekhtnamet has stats equivalent to a Dragonbone Dagger (as seen in Dawnguard) with the following enchantment:

Deals [40] points of shock damage, and half as much Magicka damage. Disintigrates targets below 15% health.

Pre-Emptive Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I start the quest?
A: Read the note "On Wamassi," tucked inside Tiberis Milo's annotated copy of Yagrum Bagarn's Tamrielic Lore. It's sitting on the librarian's table in the College of Winterhold's Arcanaeum.

Q: Can the Fang be upgraded?
A: Yes, at a grindstone with a dragon bone and Arcane Blacksmith.

Q: Do I need the "Dragon Armor" perk to craft the Fang?
A: No, that would be mean.

Q: What are the stats?
A: The stats are equivalent to Dawnguard's "Dragonbone Dagger."
And yes, it is possible this did not answer your question.

Q: When should I attempt this quest?
A: Level 20 minimum, but below 40 will probably have a hard time.
This varies greatly depending on your playstyle. Haynekhtnamet will be tougher than most dragon fights.

Q: How do you pronounce Haynekhtnamet?
A: Very carefully.

Q: Why is haynekwahtever called a "wamasus" in the quest description?
A: "Wamasus" is an Argonian word given to a race of formerly-extinct dragon-like creatures with "lightning for blood" which once populated Black Marsh. I decided to take this description literally.

Q: If the dragon's blood is blue, why is the blood on my weapon red?
A: the blood is red due to the blade's high iron content.

Q: Why do I take damage when I stab haynekwatever?
A: "lightning blood" isn't a metaphor.

Q: Dragons are supposed to have three-word names! Why is haynekwahtever different?
A: Haynekhtnamet is a name most likely given by the Argonians. Otherwise I would be able to pronounce it.

Q: Why doesn't this look like the dagger from Morrowind?
A: The original Fang had a 16x16 tiled texture and about 18 polygons. I claim artistic license.

Q: Can I have an unenchanted version?
A: Just because you asked, I added an unenchanted version called "Dragontooth Dagger." It is craftable with the Dragon Armor perk after finishing the quest.

Q: Don't you think the stats are a little overpowered?
A: Yes. Well, first off I think the new dragonbone weapons are overpowered already, but that's another argument. I'm aware that a 40 point shock effect is higher than any base enchantment in the vanilla game (and this goes against my balance/design philosophy) but the original Fang of Haynekhtnamet had the highest DPS out of any weapon in the vanilla game too, and I want to respect that. Any rank 100 enchanter can still blow it out of the water.
As for the disintegration? yes. definitely.
but isn't it rad?

Q: Why did you include a copy of Tamrielic Lore? It has nothing to do with the quest.
A: Welcome to my new plot delivery system. I'm attempting to set a precedent for my future mods, where the player will receive quest hooks based on pages torn from Tiberius Milo's notebook, which is in fact an annotated copy of Yagrum Bagarn's Tamrielic Lore. This was a book written for Morrowind which describes items you may come across during your game, and attempts to place them in the greater context of Elder Scrolls lore. It just so happens that all of my future mods will add items that come from the pages of this very book (which I've heavily abridged). The clues are in the notations.

Q: Alright, who is Tiberius Milo?
A: He is a nightblade and retainer of the royal court of Wayrest (which is in High Rock... picture the Reach, except the locals wear clothes). Basically he's an adventurer/treasure hunter on the court payroll to do odd jobs (like fetching marginally important items from cookiecutter barrows - we all know what it's like). He has contacts all over Tamriel; some are friends and some are rivals, but his goals are his own.

Q: Next mod?
A: Daedric Crescent Blade and/or Ice Blade of the Monarch. You can also expect a new dungeon this time.

tl:dr

Q: Do I really have to read all that? I like killing!
A: Then get killing! The note "On Wamassi" will provide a little backstory and maybe some hints on how to handle the fight.

@Dzūkian Mushroom Crusade I haven't updated any of my mods for special edition, but since you asked I might pull out my old pc with the source files and see if I can update it.

I've been looking all over for this mod. Used to play Skyrim with this addon years back. However, this is for the Legacy Edition of Skyrim, and unfortunately, almost all the current mods are for the Special Edition. Will there ever be a version of this mod for the Special Edition? If there is, I can't seem to find it.

I know this queston might sound weird but, can you let me know what you use to retexture weapons and armors?

Any chance I could use this dagger in my Here There Be Monsters mod? I need a good "tooth" dagger.

would you mind if I made a backport of your Fang of Haynekhtnamet mesh to Morrowind? There's really no good high quality replacers for it out there, the most popular one literally makes it look like a rock on a stick
