Everything you should know about the Enemy hunter achievement.

Get ready for the massacre

You probably already know that this achievement is bugged. What you should know, you can still get it with about 1 / 1,5 hours of grinding.
There are only 4 things you need to know:

1. The Killed enemy counter always resets when you start up the game, so don't quit until you are done with the achievement.

2. It doesn't count your total kills only the kills on a specific stage, that means you have to play the same stage over and over again.

3. Splash Hill Zone 1 is probably the best choice for this, If you go on the optimal route you can kill 25 enemies in one run that takes around 1 minute.

4. There isn't an in-game counter for the kills but you can see the numbers in your data.txt which is in the main folder of the game. (By the way you can't change the values so cheating is not possible.)

Do we know if you can restart the level mid-way and still have it count each enemy you killed?

This method works, got me about 25 enemies per about a minute and 1/4. Took a while but eventually got it.

And yeah, it does have to be done in the same stage over and over. I don't recommend opening the "data.txt" file mid stage since the enemy counter does update in real time, but while on the World Map I checked it every now and then to see how many enemies I needed til I reached 1000.

Great pain to get the achievement as I know the console versions don't have this issue but this was something to spend time on...I guess lmao but finally got my the Achievement at least.

It needs not be done on a single Stage, just in a single play session.

I'm not sure, I don't really remember but I think the counter gets zeroed every time you start the game.

this is gonna help me so much. but why cant we cheat with the file? whats stopping us from doing it?

There's an even more effective route for this in Splash Hill Zone Act 3. The final checkpoint in the level (the one with Speed Shoes to the left of it) has a string of 6 Bubbles enemies to the left of it, and about a dozen more enemies on the main path ahead. Play well and you get about 18 kills in 20-30 seconds, with a bottomless pit at the very end to allow for quick respawning.
