I should have clarified - I can get either cube out of its starting point, but not both. As I need the normal cube to free the laser cube, and I need the laser cube to free the normal one. I can see that when the laser cube is out I can open the door, but obviously I need the normal cube to hold the button down.

Yes, i can. There are white walls and you have a portal gun, so you can make it with only two cubes. To open the door you must have: One Laser cube, One Normal cube and two portals...

This looks like it should be do-able, but am I missing something - should there be 3 cubes? I understand I need to get the laser cube out, but to do that I need to put the other cube in to replace it, and I can't do that unless I have something to press the left hand button. Any clues you can give me?
