Eyeballs update and invading the web

Hey guys long time without an update on this project... Time flies!

For the past few months, we saw a lot of interest in Eyeballs, for us it has been a project we've been running for almost 2 years now and feedback has been incredibly good. Most of you understood that Eyeballs IS NOT a casual game NOR it is a mobile game! It is truly about a simple but challening gameplay experience, something you can spend months mastering.

Today we'd like to take some time to explain a bit the challenges we are facing and what's coming next for the project.

EYEBALLS AND FLEAFALL CHAMPIONS

Some of you recognize the original IP from which we created the game from, Fleafall Champions (now a freeware BTW)! Just to make things clearer, we approached Fleafall Champions creator back in the days and we acquired that licence of Fleafall for Eyeballs Invaders. So yes we are a true successor of that IP.

So if you want to have an idea of what Eyeballs plays like try this one: Fleafall Champions, the controls remains unchanged compared to this great game.

ABOUT GREENLIGHT CAMPAIGN

As some of you know already Greenlight is quite complicated for games that are lacking a zombie theme, an ultra retro style, and in general lacking a deep core appeal from the first video (think RPG, think post-apo, think deep and complex inventory system). So far Eyeballs encountered a lot of difficulties finding its audience and while we are amongst the first developers to hit greenlight with a project, it barely made it to half the top 100.

So while we are still running this greenlight campaign we actually are nowhere from being greenlit and unless there is a huge amount of people voting up, it looks like for Eyeballs greenlight is a dead end. However there is light at the end of the tunnel.

EYEBALLS ON THE WEB

So while we ran this campaign (and saw the numbers shrinking everyday), we explored new territories and we found some partners willing to bring the Eyeballs Invaders experience on browser and we are actively looking into making web browser the initial platform for Eyeballs (so we can also better take your feedback into account a bit more easily and iterate on the experience). We are not forgetting about Steam but it looks like we need a fully playable to get it there.

The Eyeball Invaders is a free to play fast-paced multi-player action game for PC, Mac and Linux in which each player takes control of one of many selectable Eyeball-like character and jump his way through 5 wonderful planets and 150 tricky levels.

Eyeballs Invaders have landed on a mysterious set of planets and they need to get as many energy orbs as they can to fuel their spaceship, but, as if it wasn’t enough, their only way back can’t take them all home, so... let the massacre begins, ‘cos in the end, there can be only one!

Discover The Eyeball Invaders world through an exciting single player adventure mode or tackle the challenges with up to 7 friends! A unique sharing feature lets you challenge up to seven other players over five crazy game modes for some local eight-player madness! And if you prefer playing online, go through the steam community and game integrated lobbies to play with your friends!

Control your jump power and leap left or right to reach the Orbs in the glimpse of an eye! Then stick to the walls and use them as launching platform to jump even further!

How do you control your Eyeballs? Simple! Press the left or right arrow of your keyboard and release it with the right timing.

    - Super Catch: Eyeballs bounce around trying to catch various orbs which appear all over the screen. The player who gets the most wins.
    - Thief: Players need to compete over an orb and when someone catches it, he becomes “thief” and the longer the orb is kept in his possession, the more points he makes.
    - Basketball: As soon as an Eyeball catches an orb, a dunk spot appears on the screen. The Eyeball with the orb has to come in contact with the dunk spot to score a point and make a Slam Dunk!
    - Paint: Each level is “paintable”. By painting the platforms players increase their score
    - Time attack: There are a series of checkpoints in each level, so that the Eyeballs must collect them all in the shortest time possible.

  • 8 local and online multiplayer (FFA, 2VS2, Co-op and more)
  • 150 colorful levels
  • Compatible with every operating system Window, Mac and Linux
  • Minimal configuration and technical requirements (low end PCs friendly!)

@Ryda2097 No beta testing for no but planned!

@Sam2: definitely! We purchased the licence of Fleafall Champion from its original author and revamping the game to a new level. The game was highly fun, too bad we do not have enough up voters right now.

@andreasatc: the gameplay is fairly simple: you press the left or right keyboard buttons and depending on the time you maintain the key down, you charge the jump, the more it is charged the longest jump you do upon release.

Hey,
me and my friend are making Lets plays on youtube and we saw youre Game and that its coop and want to ask if you have a beta to test and show users first scenes of the Game. We want to help games like this. Would be nice if we can play and test it. The LP will be in english or german.

Yay! FleaFall Champion for more than 4 players.

FF Champion was and is a hilarious game. Glad someone is trying to make an improved version. (If someone is interested in the gameplay download FleaFall Champion. It's been freeware for a few years now.)

By the way, are there any connections between Fishing Cactus and the FleaFall's development team???
I definitely vote for this. Looking forward to it's release :o)
