Basement Death Match

To download and play this map click the "subscribe" button and start the game. You can only play this map in open or local modes. Also, because it is a pvp map, it is best enjoyed with at least 1 other player. I suggest you ask a friend to join you, or you can host a server with the map and wait around until another player joins. Thank you for checking out my level! Have fun!
Level in a nutshell:

Have you ever wanted to prove you have the best DPS character in all of Etheria?

Do you hate how towers and minions get in the way of normal PVP matches?

Guess what bucko!

Your problems are solved!

In Basement Death Match it's just you and up to three opponents in a battle to the death!

No towers.

No Minions.

No Mercy just death!

Our heroes were bored with defending the realm against the ancient evils. Time and time again they saved the day and although it was fun, they longed for a greater challenge. As they sat in the castle's basement recreaction area they thought to themselves where is the next great challenge? They had to look no further than themselves. Once they realized this fact, they cast aside their wordly possessions and began to fight each other for the greatest challenge they will ever know.

Player's goal:

Reach the score limit of 60 points before any other player. (30 kills)

Level Features:

~ Unique environment constructed from existing Dungeon Defenders assets

~ Lava Spike Pit in the center of the level

~ Teleport system located in the right corner behind player spawn points

~ Numerous cover points to avoid ranged attacks

~ Multiple routes players can travel to reach the other side of the map.

~ Unique PVP gameplay that emphasizes character damage and abilities in a close range environment

~ No Towers or Minions to ruin your player versus player fun

~ Summoners can move *trolololol* SUCK IT SUMMONERS!

~ No sources of mana, which helps balance the Deathmatch style gameplay by only allowing players to collect mana by killing their opponents

~ Wicked sweet camera pan during the level start up

~ Hilarious chicken mocking you for attempting to use the mini map because mini maps are for chickens

~ 6 Original chip tune tracks play randomly as background music

~ Chip tune parody of the intro theme that plays during the wicked sweet camera pan

~ Awesome ambient sounds that make the environment come alive

*Included an image of the initial level prototype made in Microsoft Paint* <<< Ah humble beginnings!

Thank you everyone who has played my map, and thank you for your feedback! This level would not have been anywhere near as polished without your help.

You're not playing it in Ranked Mode right? It needs to be played in the open mode or whatever it's called. Plus anyone who wants to play with you needs to download it since it's not in the main game.

Well Epic Games made the Unreal Editor which Dungeon Defenders's editor is based on. So one could say all levels made for Dungeon Defenders are quite Epic! :P

Recently posted a major update to this map. It incoporates additions I was reluctant to include before the contest. Thanks to the feedback I received, however, it made it that much clearer that I absolutely needed to include this additional content.

Now there is another room on top of everything else that was in the level during the contest and it gives players a lot more options on how to play the level.

It's funny that you nentioned Mortal Kombat, because the Pit was a huge inspiration for this level. That, and castles from Mario games. Combine the two and you get a lava spike pit in the middle of a somewhat normal living space.

lol do you mean up on the pipes, cages or targets that hang from the ceiling? Or did you manage to escape the bsp walls of the level somehow? XD Take a screenshot because I'd love to see! (F12, exit the game, upload the specific shot to steam, view online, copy link from share button and post here)
