Description

This mod adds a TACTICAL NUCLEAR MISSILE unit (that does extreme damage to a SINGLE TILE, not several like a regular nuke, and has NO RADIATION/FALLOUT) and a HARD MOBILE LAUNCHER (which is used to carry missiles (ALL KINDS) on land).

WORKS WITH BNW AND GODS AND KINGS

-- YOU NEED TO START A NEW GAME FOR THIS TO WORK --
Go to MODS, Activate this mod, Play the game with the mod.

This works with GODS AND KINGS. (It MAY work with Vanilla Civ 5, I am not sure [I am very new to modding]. Why don't you try it and if it does work, then mention it in the comments).

IF YOU HAVE A MAC, THIS MOD WILL NOT WORK.

If you want to modify the attack, etc, of the unit, (after subscribing and downloading the mod) go to
C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Tactical Nuclear Missile (v 1)\XML\Units

Then open CIV5Units_TacticalNuclearMissile.xml or CIV5Units_HardMobileLauncher.xml with notepad. Modify as you wish.

Revision 2 -- IT SHOULD HAVE CUSTOM ICONS NOW --
Revision 3 - fixed a flag issue
Revision 4 - Made the AI less likely to just build the HML for no reason (hopefully); and increased the chance of AI using the tactical nuke.

I was surprised that no one made a tactical nuke unit for civ 5 so I just sat down and whipped this up.

The Tactical Nuclear Missile only has a range of 3 so you'll need to put it on a Hard Mobile Launcher which can transport it and also fire it.

The Tactical Nuclear costs 600 hammers (an ICBM IS 1200 hammers for comparison), uses 1 uranium and has a range of 3. It has a ranged strength of 300.
The Hard Mobile Launcher has a movement of 2 only, so it is relatively slow and a very weak combat strenght of 5, so protect it well!

The animation for the nuclear missile is kind of werid, it goes up in the air then once it reaches the top it goes off. Not sure why.

Thanks to davii.adams for his Air and Base commanders unit mod because it showed me how I could make a land unit carry missiles. Historical info from Wikipedia.

How can I make the AI less likely to use this? They refuse to make the ICBM now.

Nice mod. Somtimes in Civ. I black out and apparently go trigger-happy on every civ possible.I love nukes and this mod is nice. No fallout, all the dustruction. :)

To those complaining about the range and/or other stats on the tactical nuke, you do realize this mod comes with an editable XML file, right? You can literally put in whatever stats you want. Personally, I'm a bit of a cheater, so I make the uranium cost 50, and edit my uranium deposits so I have enough, that way the AI can't afford nukes, but I still can.
