Love+ for Mac and Linux now content-complete.

They're not ready for the spotlight yet, but the Mac and Linux ports of Love+ (in the brand new Love++ engine) are completely functional. There's even a new level that has some neat new obstacles.

The update will be pushed to Desura and Level Up Studios owners within the next few weeks.

We're ready for Steam's loving embrace, so please, tell your friends to vote for Love+ on Steam Greenlight! We can't do it without you!

Linux and Mac Support now a thing!

For the last few days I've been slaving over a hot keyboard to get Love+ running on Mac and Linux, as well as add some new features. I can now promise that when Love+ gets Greenlit, it will offer Mac and Linux support as well.

Some bug fixes:
- Some players had a strange interpolation problem that made the game fuzzy. No more.
- Player movement slightly tightened.
- Game runs in wide-er screen than before (3:2).
- Some levels have been visually modified to suit the wider view.
- Camera has been rehauled to have a smooth follow mechanic.

I've ported the game from its original GameMaker 7 engine to GameMaker Studio, allowing for these new ports. The method for doing this was rebuilding the whole game from the bits and pieces of the original, but the result is a pitch-perfect version of the original.

Love+ is a minimalistic platforming game with a retro aesthetic and a focus on a challenging but not unfair difficulty. It has an innovative respawn system 11 levels, 12 track soundtrack, online leaderboards, and a unique custom level creation feature.

Users are able to create images (both static and animated) that can be imported as level geometry, hazards, or interactive elements. Creators can craft full 10-level campaigns with customizeable screens and intros, and share them with one another.

The challenging levels are balanced with the inclusion of a simple yet unique respawn system wherein the player can leave a checkpoint at any location at any point, as long as they are on solid ground.

Beyond the visual aesthetic, the challenging level design, and the abundance of features, there is the fantastic soundtrack composed by James Bennett, which bring the seemingly simple 3-color atmospheres to life.

The 11 level game as well as its image-based level creation framework has a target release price of $1.99, and there are many plans to continue support for the game after release.

Your game, at least judging by trailers, seems to offer very little of innovation (VVVVVVVV and Super Meat Boy not to mention several less famous platformers seem to have this covered)... are there any other attentionworthy features that would help your game stand out of the crowd, or that's it?
