Summerposts and You: a Guide to Survive the Summer in the TF2 Forums

Summer is upon us, and we all know what that means: Summerposts. In this guide, I'll teach you how to survive and conquer these posts.

Introduction

Summer: The epitome of fun, sun, sand, and a failing American education system. That's besides the point, however: we here on the forums just L O V E summer vacation, as it gives us regs and newbies alike a good time to sit back and chat about apropriate subjects with no problems whatsoever.

I know, I'm such a comedian.

Summer on the TF2 forums is the equivalent of letting the kids have a snowday in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Us regs hate it, and it gives those outside the forum a bad taste even more that we usualy do. This summer, at least I predict so, is going to be more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ than ever due to the fact that we don't have a regular mod on the forums (Thanks BOD), so it's up to us in order to make sure we don't back down, and teach these young whippersnappers a lesson or two.

What is a Summerpost?

A summerpost is just like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥; the only exception is that it is VERY commonly posted by kids who have some time in their hands in the summer. The volume of posts created is high during this time, usually in the vein of:

• "ECKS DEE I IS FUNI CUZ I MADE MEME"
  
• [Insert bait title here]
  
• CAN I HAZ FREE HAT PLZ

These posts are very low quality (more than usual), and are, as you would expect them to be, not funny in the slightest, made by children.

How to Counter

Of course, this guide would not be complete without how to counter it. In order to counter these posts, there are two main options we can do:

• Don't Touch the Poop
  
• Flame Them to Oblivion

Of course, many regs choose option B. But because this is a guide, I'm gonna explain both anyway:

Don't post a reply in the summerpost. As you can observe, we here on the TF2 forums not only touch the poop, but we have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ snow day in it. So, that leaves us with:

B: Flame them. It's pretty easy to do: call them out on their posting. Bonus points if you use memes to covey your point.
