Beschreibung
Small, rustic player home located in snowy Winterhold. The interior and exterior are both fully navmeshed for your companions.

The interior features plenty of safe storage for your hard-earned loot. All of the containers in the basement living area are player-owned and non-respawning (Be advised: The barrels and sacks of food in the upstairs storage area WILL respawn and are not safe for storing your items!!). There is a cooking pot in the kitchen, and a small bed in the living quarters for your companion to use. And of course, a master bedroom for your own use. There are also a few weapon racks to display your prized weaponry.

I added an open-air, full smithy to the ruined house next door, as there were no smithing facilities in Winterhold. There is a smelter, forge, workbench, grinding stone, and tanning rack. I plan to add a smith merchant and an alchemy shop to the town as well.

I appreciate any and all constructive feedback, and please feel free to use my work for your own modding!

Update 09/02/12

-Fixed the wardrobe in the master bedroom to player-owned (it was set to player mannequin ownership).

-Added an alchemy shop to the edge of town. (No vendor as of yet; I can't get it work properly - For some reason the npc won't give the player any dialogue options. Players may enter the shop and use the alchemy crafting station however. I wouldn't recommend robbing the shop of all its clutter though, as it will look rather pitiful once I do manage to get a vendor in there!)

Update 09/03/12

-Added a few additional clutter/decortations to the Cabin.

-Added a wall to the edge of town at the main road and adjusted the navmesh to match.

-Added an apothecary merchant to the alchemy shop. (She has the gray-face CK bug... if anyone knows a way to fix that, please share. I tried to export her textures with ctrl+F4, but it did nothing; I am assuming this is because I play on a MAC and some of my laptop's keys are different than a PC's.)

-Kudos to BestInSlot for his excellent npc merchant creation tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh8NFbigVTQ

-Further kudos to TutorialsForSkyrim for his excellent npc and AI package tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZHKyxzVvHo

There is no quest or cost associated; you can just move right in. I am pretty much a Creation Kit noob, so I really don't know how to do much more than build the house and do navmeshing. I have been experimenting with npc merchant creation, though, so those should work fine.

This way, I can live near the college, but how much does it cost?

I like it, works fine and gives a nice alternative to the college.

I haven't done any updates lately, no. But the alchemy merchant should be up and running in her shop near the edge of town.

did you ever update this mod with the alchemy merchant? or have you abandoned it?

@Aylissan Ah! Nevermind.

@Warsun99 Oh no, you misunderstood. I already purchased Dawnguard and Hearthfire; I was just having trouble using them through the Creation Kit (the program kept crashing when I loaded those master files). I figured the issue out, though. I just haven't had time to do any real modding lately. I am still definitely interested in attempting to create a buildable house mod for an "off the beaten path" location like Winterhold, or maybe even in one of the small towns outside the Hold capitals.

@Aylissan Well you only have until Febuary 5 to get it.Because thats when Dragonborn comes out.So you might want to plan ahead for this.
