Description
"Dukes and Dirigibles" is a top-down Steampunk arena shooter inspired by arcade classics such as Time Pilot and Gauntlet (yes, you read that right!).

We took an old-school approach to the game play that emphasizes both skills and tactics. Players will face an array of enemy aircraft and turrets inside giant airborne arenas. Survive long enough to destroy all the aircraft hangers and you’ll get to take on the arena’s bosses.

Originally designed for game portal websites, Dukes and Dirigibles can be played on Kongregate and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Please give it a try!

So, if you can play the game for free online, why pay a couple bucks for it on Steam? Creating a game for the web involves a lot of compromises: sitting through ads, branding that clutters up the interface, and most importantly, needing to cut out a lot of art/music so the game doesn't take forever to download. We don't just want to sell what already exists, we want to expand it into something bigger.

Here's a list of improvements we want to make for Steam (aka The Big Pitch!):

- Larger screen size so players can see more of the arena.
- New, much more varied designs for the bosses.
- More variety in the arena and background graphics.
- New enemies in the arena (new turret types, aircraft types, and some other surprises).
- New turret types means additional power-up options!
- Additional levels not found in the game portal version.
- Expanded music selection (additional tracks, longer versions of existing tracks).
- Graphics settings options.

As Dukes and Dirigibles developed, a vision grew for what it should be in its final state, and we would like to be able to finally share that with everyone.

Erm... it's just a flash game.
If you want to make it better, do what Meat Boy did.
Take your game and rebuild from the ground up with slightly better graphics and twice the content.

"Flashgame license" OK.

Really though, it looks like a great flashgame but I don't think it belongs on Steam. I'm not paying for it though.

Concept looks great, but controls look a tad clunky. Gets a vote from me, but please make the controls more responsive.

Also, music is awesome. Please let that be the soundtrack!

Improve the controls and I will buy it in a heartbeat!
