It LIVES! Multiplayer LIVES!
OreSome: Available on GamersGate
Description
OreSome is a 2D action strategy game about ore -- exploring space for it, fighting aliens for it, blowing up planets with it. Build a network of frames and bots to defeat your enemies -- or just throw a sun at them.

In a dying, decrepit universe full of foes, build up your forces and mine your way to the top of the food chain to explore further and further out into the void. By the time you're ready, you'll be powering light speed jump drives with stars, building Death Star style super weapons with black holes and in charge of the largest scale mining operation ever known to man -- all working for one of humanity's least scrupulous corporations -- and there's a lot of competition.

Key Features
  • Explore: See the universe and bend it to your will. Fuel your creations with the stars and planets of a massive open world. Push out further into the void and face greater dangers as you fight your way towards the edge of the universe. No two games will play the same, with a dynamically generated world and randomly placed quests.

  • Expand: Construct ships and bases how you want them, from a single vulnerable command piece up to massive capital ships. Set traps, steal your foes' hardware and add it to your own. Add AI to your creations and have them fight for you, or take direct control to solve problems personally.

  • Exceed: Play your own way with around 100 meaningful research upgrades, each providing new frames and bots for construction, as well as new abilities. Chose the path that suits you best - weapons or defenses, command and control or superweapons. With four enemy factions hunting you, you'll need every drop of tech you can get to stay alive and sieze victory.

Just to note, this game is currently still in development. Screenshots are not yet final. A few comments have been made regarding multi-player - it's currently in the Alpha in a basic form that will expand to something more full featured over time, potentially with multiple game modes. Moddabilty is also a distinct possibility, since many quests and enemy vessels are stored in script files that can be saved to from the game's Shipyard level editor. Particularly good community submissions of ship designs will be incorporated into the game itself, and some already have been. The expansion of these tools again depends on interest.

I don't really understand what I see, but I still sort of like it ( love new concepts, especially if they don't toally look like C64 games from the 80s).
