Escape Goat is a new type of physics-based puzzle platformer. Play the role of a goat, imprisoned for witchcraft, who must escape the Prison of Agnus. We first debuted on Xbox Live Indie Games at the end of 2011, and the PC version was featured in the Indie Royale June Bug Bundle this summer for the PC launch.

  • Use the environment to your advantage to overcome traps, machinery and puzzles embedded in the world.
  • Watch each room morph and change shape as the walls rearrange themselves, stone blocks settle, and explosives blast things in all directions. You'll need to use your sick sense to navigate this doggy dog world!
  • Over 50 rooms in the main campaign, followed by a 50-room bonus world for torture platformer fans. For all intensive purposes, you might as well give up now!
  • Ever-growing list of user-created worlds
  • Built-in level editor, with easy-to-use color-coated scripting system.
  • Currently rated #20 (in the mist of 2,600 titles) on XBox Live Indie Games, and user rating of 9.5 on Desura (over 90 ratings).

Have I peaked your interest? I know XNA puzzle platformers are a diamond dozen, so the best way to understand Escape Goat is to try it. Check it out right here in your browser--that's right, a console game in HTML5. (We're still working on performance--it's not as fast as the client version, as you might guess... we take for granite how fast native apps are!) Without further adeiu...

To strum up support for this Greenlight, the web version will remain for demo purposes and single-custom-room sharing. If we get a Steam contract, you can count on Steam Workshop integration for some awesome new level sharing features, like user ratings for worlds, difficulty categories, and more.

Thanks for checking out my game! Please post any questions about it in the comments and I'll be happy to answer them here.

@Mystaceus, Thanks for your suggestion. I will see about getting around to a GL page for those games as well as EG2. Right now I'm working hard on my PAX 10 submission for EG2. Wish me luck!

@MagicalTimeBean

I can't think of any reason it'll dilute your votes. It could help EG's progress, though. The page for SC1&2 will have a "View all shared files" button on it, which will have a link to Escape Goat (and EG2 when there's a page up).

@Mystaceus Do you think it will help EG's progress, or dilute my votes and slow it down? Maybe when I get the EG2 page up I will make one for SC1&2 (together)

I agree with Death2Videodrome. Soulcaster 1 & 2 are great, and as you've already paid the $100 it won't cost anything to try.
