The Icebound announcement and gameplay trailers have now been released, and are viewable on the visual novel's main page. With Icebound's release coming soon, we have opened up pre-orders at http://gum.co/VXmQ (homepage http://iceboundgame.com ), with a special 20% off discount to all who put their order in before release.

The trailer features an updated look at what the final game will be like. A fully novel-length title, it features high quality art, music, a witty, adventurous plot, and puzzle gameplay, as well as a notoriety system where Dougal can influence his responses by performing peaceful, or not-so-peaceful acts.

A dark-fantasy, mystery visual novel that takes place in a steampunk world locked in the depths of an ice age, Icebound features a non-linear plot with moral decisions, romance, and puzzle game elements.

On the world of Permia, two races share a fragile peace. In the north lies the human-controlled Holy Empire, whose machinery and society both run with clockwork precision, and in the south, the feran Council, a powerful tribal alliance that seeks mastery of the spiritual arts. What both have in common is that they covet the ability to manipulate the forces of nature - one that comes naturally to those gifted with the power of alchemy.

A wandering alchemist named Dougal winds up in the isolated town of Isenbarr with his Familiar, Isaac, hoping to find a job and earn some spending money. But, when he stumbles across a lucrative challenge offered by a master alchemist and his clockwork servant, he must compete with three other unique individuals to obtain the powerful Philosopher's Stone. In his search for a deadly monster, he becomes entangled with a beautiful secret agent whose motives are all but clear...

I just love VN's with romance in it and puzzle elements. Can't wait for this to come on steam. A big YES from me for this game.

I would like to see a good new adventure game, there have not been many adventure games recently and most of them were not that great, especially lacking is the story line This one looks very interesting

As a visual novel, it is primarily a novel length illustrated story with decision trees throughout, as well as a number of short CG's and alchemy puzzles. It may also be partially or fully voice-acted. If you like RPG's or reading, you will probably like it, if you like action games, it might not be your style.

You have TWO trailers and I'm still not real clear of how this game plays. Is it purely decision trees and that alchemy minigame? Thanks.

"Alchemy" in this universe isn't quite magic, but it isn't the realistic kind, either. Unless medieval alchemists shot fireballs and summoned creatures from mysterious realms, that is.

. . . What? No, 'technology' is science used for practical purposes. 'Alchemy' was a medieval study of turning metals into gold and is no more "real" than magic.
