QRTH-PHYL released
Description
Release date: out now at hermitgames.com
Arcade documentary of maze/dot/snake mechanic within changing dimensions, axis locks and the corruption of the system. Collect, grow, avoid your past, find new space, wake up...

qrth-phyl continues the algorithmic, generative and metaphorical arcade game design ideas last seen in previous hermitgames release Leave Home. The game plays in 3D, is adaptive and fuses elements of documentary. Based on a prototype created in the deep south west of Cornwall circa 2004 it has been (re)developed for PC over the last two years. Built with custom tools, self generating code and a modified AY-3-8912 audio chip.

The game is out now on PC at http://hermitgames.com/ and XBLIG

If the game gets a steam release I would add steam hiscore leaderboards, achievements and distribute steam keys to existing purchasers.

The game was selected for the Indie Leftfield Arcade at Eurogamer's Rezzed show and is a finalist in Microsofts Dream.Build.Play 2012.

Neat! I haven't seen a twist on Snake like this before!

I got a lot of playtime out of this game. This is one heck of an addictive snake game. I love it! The idea is quite creative and I enjoy it a lot.

Just bought the Xbox 360 version and it's brilliant! Would love to see this on Steam!

As it looks a bit psycho at the beginning, this game is great and VERY addictive. Totally deserves green light :)

besides being the best overhaul of that classic snake concept I've seen so far, it has a great mood, and eyecandy supported by a nice soundtrack. the gameplay is also super-addictive, there's no reason to not get this greenlit!
(voted up, centrainly)

game looks great. I've actually waited a long time for a good 3D version of snake

Just bought this on indiegamestand. I can see a place for this one in Steam. This is something that you can pick up and play (casual) but still offers enough random play that keeps you interested in seeing what other crazy mechanic gets thrown in with each level (sequence). If I have one criticism, it would be that the graphic effects get in the way of your path and temporarily blinds you sometimes which can be annoying but this is also why it is challenging.

I paid a quarter for this, least I can do is vote yes.

I've seen a lot of variants on snake games (2D and 3D, free movement, on a surface, etc.), but this is by far my favorite. The gameplay is balanced and fair (while challenging), and the controls are tweaked to perfection. Definite upvote and favorite for me.
