Steam Early Access
Description
Release date: Alpha build: December 2012 Release: Q1 or Q2 2013
Kinetic Void is a 3D space adventure with a focus on customization and enjoyable space simulation. Our in game ship builder allows players to construct their ship piece by piece. Each module can be destroyed individually and if a ship's engines are destroyed, it will be left drifting. If a hull module containing a reactor is knocked out, everything that reactor powered will be useless (unless another reactor can pick up the slack). While in space flight, interactions between objects are governed by the physics engine. Running into an asteroid at high speed will damage your ship and could send you careening off into space. Slowly approaching the asteroid and then throttling up will allow you to accelerate the asteroid. And if that asteroid just happens to be heading toward a space station... well, the results should be spectacular. But be careful who you anger. The faction who owned the station will remember your little stunt and may be gunning for you in the future. On the other hand, their enemies may appreciate your resourcefulness and be more open toward you.

A new galaxy every time.
When a new game is started the galaxy map, the contents of each sector, and the factions involved will be generated from scratch. This will ensure that each play-through is a totally new experience, with unpredictable events and political climate. There will also be a choice to save galaxies so that the player may start over with a new captain, in an already established galaxy.

Know your neighbors.
In Kinetic Void the galaxy is a living, breathing thing, not all factions get along, not all of them hate each other. As factions interact, agreements and treaties will be made and broken. Trade, combat and piracy will affect how the factions see each other based on their own internal standings.

Fully detailed and customizable space ships.
Tailor your ship for any role. Make a sleek fighter, a bulky freighter, or a mighty carrier. Your ship’s capabilities and appearance are completely up to you. Using Kinetic Void’s ship builder you can make exactly the ship you want. Customize every part of your ship from cockpits, hulls, engines, weapons, and aesthetic modules. Each module has its own statistics that affect the total performance of your ship. Every module can be further customized by slotting in subsystems. You can even color your ship exactly how you want, every module has seven color fields allowing you to make amazing ships quickly, and easily.

Freedom to choose your fate.
Be the scourge of the galaxy, or its savior. A life of combat and struggle not your thing? Become an intergalactic trader and influence the galaxy one deal at a time. Not interested in being a ‘good guy’? Take on a life of piracy and plunder your way through sectors creating havoc wherever you go, docking at pirate stations for supplies and crew as needed.

Intense active combat.
Target enemy ships and maneuver in real time to align devastating broad-sides or crippling strafing runs. In Kinetic Void, your skills as a pilot are just as important as the components that make up your ship.

Take direct control of your ship.
Kinetic Void offers three control modes. In cursor-mode, the player can control the ship through keyboard commands, and pan the camera with the mouse in any direction for quick tactical overview; or Mouse Flight-mode, allowing direct control of the ship through mouse movements. Control your battleship’s turrets from a sweeping orbital camera or slip between asteroids in a dogfight while piloting your heavy-fighter using mouse flight mode. Switch between modes at any time to best suit the situation. The Mouse Flight-mode will also be controllable with joysticks making the flight jockeys out there feel right at home in the stars.

With the way Greenlight is set up we will only get on Steam if we can generate enough traffic to the page and get the needed number of aproval ratings. Simply put this means we need to get as much traffic to this page as possible, in the comming weeks we will be doing press-releases (assuming gaming sites post them) YouTube videos, and more screenshots. We will be doing everything we can, but we need your support as well.

Greenlight is based on what steam customers want, if they dont know about us, they cannot rate us!

We do have a Shipyard Demo on our site, it is based on a early pre-alpha build and does not have our current texture systems in it. You can build ships, test fly them, and combat other ships that you design, this is not a finished product, and was mearly a pre-alpha display of our systems. Almost everything in the shipyard demo will be different in the full game. We have all of our focus on the development of the full game right now.

The game is early in development still, thats why its on Early Access, also its best to post in the community hub, not on greenlight.

I bought this game, graphics is cool, but nothing happens not anykind of combat or adventure or anything, no tutorial, nothing yet. I hope this game keeps atleast some of those promises and my money isn't totally wasted. I am still waiting for Elite 4, there hasn't been any good space sim since IWar2 EOC which was great space combat game with story and excellent newtonian physics, it was released 2001, over 12 years with empty void in space sim gaming, too bad.

This seems like one of those "promise everything" games that are always too good to be true. Does it fall short anywhere? Does it really feel as alive and interactive as the description claims? I ask because it looks like it could be an amazing game, but it also looks like it could be a huge disappointment. I hope it's the former and not the latter.

I just bought the game, and the ship builder worked fine, but when I actually launch the ship it just drifts. I can't move it at all.

Hi, sorry for my bad English. I try to ask some Questions and hope someone understand them. I will buy this "BetaGame?" for 19 Euros. When the Game is finished i must buy the Game again or only get it with updates? Mutiplayer will be there thats fine. Is there a option to get this Game in German? Or will it be translated later? I know theres no Time to translate at Time, but i think more German People will play this when they understand what is to do. Thanks to anyone for Answer
