How to measure in PU
By SandTag
explains how to measure in PU as the method of measurement seems to allude some new community members, the PU was invented in ss1 when players debated how large the explosion of a grenade actually was, so, with time and effort, it was determined that the grenade was 40PU, that started the measurement

How to measure PU
The measurement of PU accuretly is extremely hard, if you are dedicated to finding all of the games blast radiuses, heres a few tips:
*PU is measured from the centre of your tank, not the barrel
*PU is normally a multiple of 5 or 2.5
*PU is not the most accurate measurement, allways round it down 1 or up 1 towards the nearest 5, you should get a flat multiple (this does not apply for all weapons, measure multiple times to ensure no error is made)
*test with a grenade on lowlands, it han an EXACT size of 40PU, shot is also 25, though shot does not provide a reliable crater.
* PU can be converted to "blast radius" by dividing by 2.5
* "blast radius" will also convert to PU by multiply by 2.5
*<-- left shows how to measure 40PU from a grenade
*to best measure, place the tank at a 45 degree tipping edge to the side of a crater, this is easier if you have low level tracks
History of PU
The first reference of PU was in ss1, the measurement was sparked by a small group of players taking note of the fact some explosions seemed identical in size, after much debate, one player decided they should blow up areas on the lowlands map, this resulted in the discovery that the power meter can be used to measure the sizes of craters accuretly, with the first measurement being 41PU (this was later discovered to be 40), being the grenade

the more you know, this is the history of PU, so when somone says shank is 63 long, you know they mean 63PU
