Roman Weapons

Description
***Note: This mod is no-longer supported. Modding isn't as simple as clicking 'add to game,' so no, I can't make any changes for you anymore. Sorry, I don't even have the modding software installed, and it would take weeks to get back up to speed and figure everything out again.

I am leaving this mod up so that those who want to use it still have it. For the rest of you, I recommend looking for other mods to give you your Roman fix. So long folks, and thanks for all the fish.***

Update:
Version 1.7:
*Added Iron Gladius with same stats as original Gladius (Screenshots pending)
*Improved original Gladius to reflect higher quality
*Changed original Gladius to be a 'steel' item
*Attempted to make collision mesh for shield -CRASH!- reverted to current model
*Added Test NPC in Whiterun for screenshots
*Changed all settings

Version 1.6:
*Made Gladius upgradable (please provide feedback)
*Increased Gladius speed
*Modified Gladius settings due to new speed
*Attempted to move the shield further out again

Version 1.5:
*Added Roman Gladius one handed sword.

You will now be able to craft a Roman Gladius (Steel) or Iron Gladius. The standard (high quality) Gladius is in the Steel section, and the Iron one is in... the iron section.

The Iron gladius is far darker due to complaints about the original being too shiny. I will re-texture the steel version eventually.

The model is slightly smaller than the real deal. This allows males and females to use the same model. Because of the shield's design, your armor or gloves may stick through a bit. I'm sorry about this, but if I move the shield too far away from the hand, it doesn't work right. When blocking in first person, the shield will not obscure your view. If I had put the handle in the center, as it is with the real Roman shield, you wouldn't be able to see while blocking. Also note that your weapon may clip through the shield a bit when blocking. Again, this is unavoidable without modifying the shield's design.

The artwork is historically accurate, and consists of a very detailed metal center piece based off of an actual Roman shield uncovered in England recently. The unit designations that normally flank this center piece are missing.

I created these models from scratch specifically for this mod. If you use it, (outside of Skyrim) or include it in your own mods, please let me know. Commercial use of this model is prohibited without my consent.

Where do I find the swords?

Also does the sword have a faster swing speed than just the default iron/steel sword(s)? With a shorter blade than a typical 'western' or 'medieval' sword design, the Gladius should definitely take less stamina and swing faster.

What if I want a really shiny steel one? could you do that with like an added corundum ingot or something? Called like... "Shiny Steel Gladius?"

You should be able to craft them, and they should be in Breezehome (sp).

Hmmm. Do you think you could atleast replace the leather wrap sheath with the imperial sheath? Or is that too much to ask?

Sorry, I have been out of the Skyrim modding scene for years. That engine is a serious pain in the ass to work with. It isn't as simple as modeling something and dumping it in the game. It takes hours of messing around, trial and error and about 50% luck just to get something to show up.

Will you please add sheathes for the Gladius please. I looks kinda funny to see a nice detailed gladius in a leather wrap sheath.
