It's summertime in Skyrim and a heatwave has melted all the snow!
Get my new map version!

ZX Skyrim (Heatwave)

Place in: \My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps
\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\Maps

Thanks to "Sketch (SpaceViking1)" for suggesting this version.

Due to a glitch with civ 5 or the world builder you would always start at Riften or the southern most start point (if Ritften was removed you would start as Falkreath and so on). I have fixed this by making a scenario that allows you to start where you wish, I also took the opportunity to name the leaders as the Jarls and the Civs as the Holds.

1. Select the map [ZX Skyrim].
2. Tick the scenario check-box.
3. Choose your leader form the list.
4. Click Start

Leaders translate as follows:
English - Solitude
Russia - Morthal
Arab - Dawnstar
India - Winterhold
Siam - Markarth
Egypt - Falkreath
Ottoman - Whiterun
Persia - Windhelm
Japan - The Rift

If you use advanced settings you will start randomly.

My [Zardoz Xerxes] Skyrim map is visually similar to Skyrim but also features tactical civilisation 5 game-play.

I used an elevation map of skyrim to place the mountains,they have hollow centres filled with hills, this is to present more usable areas for civilisations, but also to create enclosed, defensible areas. I also acquired another map, detailing all of the visible terrain, I used this to place the rivers, using sea instead for easy trade routes and unit traversal.

I have simulated paths and roads as plains on grassland and tundra on snow, this also helps to break up the grassland and creates some more useful terrain in the snowy areas. There are also a few areas in the north that are only assessable via deep water and some small rivers on mountains.

The resources are random but I am working on them now.

this mod is good,but you need to add certain things to it(I.E silver arount the reach and Markarth,horses where the stables are,ect),and mabye make the colors not as confusing and blended together(seriously,half the time i cant even tell the difference between western Skyrim holds).

I'm actually arguing for the effect of the terrain versus the appearance of the tile. If you made a mod that made it so that tundra looked like snow I'd use it in a heartbeat.

There are several snow litered farms in skyrim. You can't farm on snow in Civ V.

Thanks for sharing your opinion and personal preferences!

I wouldn't like to say that you are wrong but if you are talking about accuracy to the original Skyrim map as oppose to your own personal liking, then you are so wrong it's kind or painful and embarrassing for you have posted about it.

Obviously I can't make a map that fits everybody's personal taste, because everybody is different.

To make this map, an actual map of Syrim was exported directly from The Elder Scrolls Creation Kit, that was then exported to Photoshop where I overlaid the various hex blocks by hand (from a template of Civ V hex block types for use in Photoshop that I personally made for this purpose), I then used this as a template to build the map.

If you do not believe this to be true, then I suggest you check out my Facebook group “Zardoz Xerxes” where I fully documented the entire process in detail using pictures with accompanying text.
