IMPORTANT: This mod requires Dawnguard. If you don't have Dawnguard get this version instead: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=13206
If you already use the other version: "Auto Unequip Arrows" mod then follow these steps to make clean save before upgrading:
1. Load the save you want to make clean.
2. Open console and type: StopQuest AUA
3. Close console and save the game.
- repeat steps 1 to 3 for all saves you want to make clean.
4. Uninstall Auto Unequp Arrows and unsubscribe from it.
5. Install this version which is now called Auto Unequip Ammo.

This mod will automatically unequip ammo when ranged weapon is unequipped and equip the same ammo back when you equip the ranged weapon again. Equipped Arrows and Bolts are remembered separately so they can be restored when using corresponding ranged weapon type. Because there is no way to distinguish arrows from bolts via script I had to make pre-defined classification.
If you equip custom ammo that cannot be recongized by the mod a pop-up will appear for you to classify them.
Choose one of 3 classes when asked:
1. Arrows - Long pointed sticks.
2. Bolts - Short pointed sticks.
3. Other - Selecting this class will ignore the ammo and will not auto-equip it back but it will still be auto-unequipped when you unequip ranged weapon.

If you make a classification mistake or wish to clear all custom arrows from the class list you can trigger the purge procedure by equipping the same ammo 5 times in a row rapidly.

If you uninstall any of the mods that add the custom ammo and that ammo is already added to the list, this mod will automatically purge the whole list as soon as you load the game without the mod that adds this new ammo.

- No known incompatibilities.

1. Type in console (StopQuest AUA).
2. Save the game.
3. Uninstall the mod.

Changes since last version of Auto Unequip Arrows:
- Complete rewrite and new mod name.
- Added Dawnguard support for crossbows/bolts.
- Added support for multiple followers from 3 most popular mods EFF, UFO and AFT (25 followers max).
- Improved compatibility to work with any bound weapon.
- Minor performance tweaks.

For some reason, this mod causes error 15 when loading...whatever that is?

For me it doesn't remember the latest arrows I used. I choose Glass but after switching weapons I got Steel back. How's that?

How does this one work with mods that move the position of the quiver, like for putting it across your butt to make room for a backpack?

Repeating this comment for those that needed help to make it work, like me:

I think I wrote this before but it's spammed away so I repeat myself:
For those who don't get it to work. Unequip (cross-)bow and arrows/bolts, open console, type: "StopQuest AUA" enter, than "StartQuest AUA" enter. Close console and equip bow + arrows. You should get the prompt to define if it's arrows of bolts, choose correct one, and voila, mod works.

I have to do this everytime I load an old save that was made before I loaded the mod, but it worked for me every time.

When I first started playing Skyrim I was surprised that they did not include this in the game. I found it rather tedious to have to unequip my arrows from the inventory menu or my favorites/quickkey pop-up menu. I usually only download mods that improve the immersion feel of the game or add things that Bethesda had left out or fix what they already have. This was a HUGE fix. I have to agree with Chief. when he said that it's the ittle things that make the experience so much better! This is definitely a favorited keeper for me. Thank you so much!!!

Since I bought Dawnguard last week now I switched over to this mod and it works fine now. I followed the orders and tried to uninstall Unequip Arrows, but the game won't load with the mod deactivated. It works if I have both activated, but I'd really like to remove the other mod, so I have an overview and less mods (I have 75 already installed anyways)
